Backing up to just the right spot is a challenge. Even if you miss the mark by more than an inch, the plate will guide the ball right into place and ensure a tight connection.
The constant rattling and banging back there is the worst part of towing. This coupler wraps snugly around the 2-5/16" gooseneck ball to reduce movement and keep your ride smooth.
You can adjust this coupler to work with trucks of different heights. 8" of adjustment helps you find the right height.
The release handle is large and easy to grip and manuever, so you don't have to fight with the coupler to disconnect.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Curt round gooseneck coupler with the load-bearing pin and clip. Has an eight inch height adjustment and a 20,000 pound capacity. Now, this gooseneck coupler, it'll let you hook up your gooseneck trailer to your tow vehicle. It will fit the standard gooseneck ball size of two and 5/16th inches, and this is a weld on installation. This outer tube is what'll weld directly to your gooseneck trailer.
The outer tube width is four and a quarter inches. The inner tube width, which will slide up and down in there to adjust your height, is a four inch width. These are a sturdy steel construction. Now you can adjust the coupler to work with trucks of different heights. As we mentioned, it has an eight inch range of adjustment.
Basically, you can see one of the holes here, the pins in the other one, there's total of four holes so it helps you find the right height for your application. So it gives you an eight inch range of adjustment. The distance between each hole center to center is two and 11/16th inches. And as we mentioned, it does include this three quarter inch load bearing pin with the clip. Once you find your height that you need, you put your load bearing pin in there.
Now the overall height of the coupler, if this is fully retracted is 29 inches, if it's fully extended is 37 inches. Now to hook it up, I'm gonna zoom in down here at the bottom. Has a self-centering locking plate right here on the bottom. This will secure onto the gooseneck ball. Provides a nice, strong, tight fit.
Even if you miss the mark by more than an inch, you can still hook up. And the way you would hook up, and you spin this around so you can see. It has this locking pin handle right here. What you'll do is lift this into the open position. It is spring loaded, so you'll lift it into the open position. This is the open position right now. So if you lift it up and just turn it over and it'll hold it in the open position. Now you're ready to connect. Lower this onto the gooseneck ball. Once you get it onto the gooseneck ball, release it into the closed position, slide that over, and it'll lock onto the gooseneck ball. You're ready to go. As we mentioned, it is a spring loaded handle. Makes for a nice easy hookup, and what's nice if you look here, this spring latching mechanism is hidden to protect all your moving parts from any damage. Now, once you set the coupler at the correct height, there's these two set screws on the outer tube. These will secure the inner tube at that desired height. So once you get it set and you put your pin in there, then just tighten these set screws down to hold it into place. Weight capacity, we mentioned you can tow up to 20,000 pounds. Now always remember if you have any questions regarding this product, please don't hesitate to contact us via phone, chat, or email, or if you've purchased this product, please send us pictures of it being used in your application 'cause we'd love to see it. But that's gonna do it for a look at the Curt round gooseneck coupler with the load-bearing pin.
