Powerful, Portable Generators

e3200 outlets

These e3200R etrailer inverter generators combine to provide 6,000 watts of clean AC power to get you up and running whether you're at the campsite, worksite, or tailgate party. Each powerful generator comes with (2) 120V outlets for powering household appliances, tools, and electronic devices. They each feature (1) 120V TT-30R RV outlet, ensuring you'll have access to electricity no matter where you take your RV or if there's a power outage at the campground. They each have (1) 12V 8.3-amp DC outlet that charges automotive and marine batteries. Lastly, each includes (1) 5V USB outlet to charge cell phones, tablets, and other portable electronics. Each generator also has outlet covers to help keep out moisture and debris.

e3200 handle and wheels

Each unit has a folding handle and wheels for easy transport. Additionally, 2 built-in, ergonomic carry handles give you a simple way to pick up and move them when needed.

Parallel Ability

e3200R parallel ports

The external parallel kit lets you pair the 3,200 watt generators together to increase power output to 6,000 watts. By increasing the power output, you can run equipment with higher electrical demands. Simply connect the cables to the corresponding parallel ports on each generator's control panel.

parallel kit

The parallel kit includes a 120V 50-amp 14-50R for RV connection. It also has a 120V 30-amp L5-30R twist-lock outlet that powers large household appliances and tools. The included circuit breakers in each outlet protect connected equipment from overloading. Additionally, it includes integrated LED lights under each outlet to provide better visibility while working in low-light conditions.

Safe for Sensitive Electronic Devices

Electronic devices are made with delicate circuitry that requires steady, controlled electrical current. The current produced by standard generators, however, is uncontrolled, allowing extreme fluctuations in power. These fluctuations can damage your sensitive electronic devices. These generators, on the other hand, have built-in inverters that control the voltage that is produced. This important feature ensures each generator is safe to use with your electronic equipment such as cell phones, computers, and medical devices.

Easy Remote Start Engine

e3200R remote control

Each generator's engine starts up easily using the remote. Simply turn the fuel valve to "on" and flip the engine switch to the "run" position. Then, push the battery power restore switch for a few seconds and release. At the push of a button, the generator will turn on

Before starting your generator, ensure nothing is connected to the outlets. Start your generator and let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up and stabilize. Once the generator is up and running, follow the recommended order of operation: connect the device with the highest starting watts first, like your air conditioner or refrigerator, then work your way down to the device with the lowest starting watts. By connecting devices in this order, you'll ensure the generator has enough power to start high-wattage loads.

Economy Mode Provides Fuel Efficiency

e3200 eco mode

With the flip of a switch, you can activate each generator's economy mode feature. This mode adjusts engine speed to match the power demands of your connected devices. When using low-draw devices like tablets, cell phones, televisions, and radios, the engine runs more efficiently to save fuel and keeps noise to a minimum. The engine only runs at normal speed when additional power is needed. For example, when using a power tool, the engine will only speed up when the device is actively being used. This mode is not only kinder to your pocketbook and your ears, it's also easier on the environment.

Safety Features

e3200 safety lights

Each generator comes with a number of safety features to protect you, the environment, and the generators. The control panel contains 2 warning lights that indicate low oil and overloading. When the engine is low on oil, it will automatically shut down to prevent damage. If an overload is detected, either by exceeding the generator's limits or a power surge, the circuit breaker will stop supplying power to the connected devices. The digital voltage regulator assists in minimizing voltage fluctuations which helps to maintain a steady flow of electricity. Also, a built-in spark arrestor helps prevent any sparking that might burn someone or start a fire. This arrestor has been certified by the USDA Forest Service.

Choosing a Generator

When choosing a generator, you need to match the generator's starting and running output with the electrical demands of the equipment you want to operate.

Power Demands

Starting (surge) wattage is the power a device requires at startup. Running (rated) wattage is the power needed to keep the device running. A large appliance with an electric motor such as a furnace, refrigerator, air conditioner, or washing machine may require 2 to 3 times more starting wattage than running wattage.

It is always best to start your generator with no load connected, then add each device one at a time. Additionally, a good practice to consider is connecting your devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts. As you connect and start devices, your available wattage decreases. This order of operation allows you to start devices with the highest power demands when there is more power available.

Will This Generator Run My RV Air Conditioner?

At etrailer, we perform numerous tests on generators that put them through real-world experience. An extensive part of this testing includes starting and running RV air conditioners. The following table will help you decide if these inverter generators have enough power to handle this critical function in your RV.

Air Conditioner Will it start and run?

* The starting wattage on air conditioners can vary greatly depending on several factors, including the assistance of built-in capacitors and cold starts. Because of this, we can't list a standard starting wattage as every application can be different.

Determining Your Power Needs

The following section provides calculations for wattage estimates. This will give you an overall picture of your potential power usage and help you decide on the generator that is right for you.

Industry Standard Calculation

The Industry Standard Calculation is a quick and easy way to determine your required wattage. It may provide some padding in your wattage requirements, which could give you more power than you actually need, but you shouldn't have to worry about not having enough power. The following steps will help you quickly calculate the correct size generator to meet your application.

As stated earlier, you should always start your generator without any load, and then connect each device one at a time. The following calculation requires this approach to work. However, using this calculation removes the worry of connecting devices in a certain order.

1. Determine the starting watts and running watts for the devices that you want to plug into the generator.

a. Find the starting (surge) watts and running (rated) watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator. Look for a sticker or plate on each device or check your owner's manuals.

b. If your device or manual only shows amps and volts, watts can also be determined through a simple formula. (Amps x Volts = Watts)

c. List all of your starting watts and running watts as seen in Table 1 below.

Table 1

Example Devices Starting Watts Running Watts
Air compressor 2,000 1,000
Refrigerator 1,600 800
Microwave 0 1,000
Blender 850 400

2. To find the total starting watts required , add the starting watts for the device with the highest value to the running watts of all the other devices from Table 1 .

2,000 + 800 + 1,000 + 400 = 4,200 total starting watts

3. To find the total running watts , add all of the running watts together from Table 1 .

1,000 + 800 + 1,000 + 400 = 3,200 total running watts

To run all of these devices simultaneously, you would require a generator with at least 4,200 starting watts and 3,200 running watts.

Advanced, Precise Calculation

While the method for calculating your power needs outlined above will work, it isn't the most precise. If you aren't afraid of doing a little more math, you can use the Advanced, Precise Calculation to get a more accurate idea of how much power you will need and potentially save yourself some money. Because the calculation above pads in enough power to ensure you can start your devices in any order, it may point you to a bigger and more expensive generator than you need. However, by following the more regimented, order-of-operations calculation below, you'll get a much more precise idea of how much power you need, which could in turn point you to a smaller and less expensive generator.

Again, you should always start your generator without any load, and then connect each device one at a time. The following calculation also requires that you start your devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts. When you connect devices in this order, you can start high demand devices when there is more power available.

1. Determine the starting watts and running watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator.

a. Find the starting (surge) watts and running (rated) watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator. Look for a sticker or plate on each device or check your owner's manuals.

b. If your device or manual only shows amps and volts, watts can also be determined through a simple formula. (Amps x Volts = Watts)

c. List out these devices from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts as seen in Table 2 below.

Table 2

Example Devices Starting Watts Running Watts
Air compressor 2,000 1,000
Refrigerator 1,600 800
Microwave 0 1,000
Blender 850 400

2. To find the total running watts , add all of the running watts together from Table 2 .

1,000 + 800 + 1,000 + 400 = 3,200 total running watts

3. In Table 3 , shown below, the values from Table 2 are used to calculate the highest total starting watts required as devices are connected and running. This number represents the highest power requirement you will encounter as you connect all of your devices to the generator. To find this, add the starting watts of each new device you connect to the combined running watts of all connected devices . The highest of these numbers will be the total starting watts required . And again, remember to always connect devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts.

Table 3

Device Starting Watts Running Watts of All Connected Devices Total Starting Watts Required
1. Air compressor 2,000 + 0 (nothing connected) = 2,000
2. Refrigerator 1,600 + 1,000 (air compressor) = 2,600
3. Microwave 1,000* + 1,800 (air compressor + refrigerator) = 2,800
4. Blender 850 + 2,800 (air compressor + refrigerator + microwave) = 3,650

* Even though the microwave does not have starting watts listed, you have to account for the power needed to actually run it.

850 + 2,800 = 3,650 highest total starting watts required

In order to run all of these devices simultaneously, you would require a generator with at least 3,650 starting watts and 3,200 running watts.

I purchased these two Firman generators with the parallel kit for our new 2020 Solitude. They came highly recommended by several RV techs as well as by other users. We are able to run at least 1 AC unit 15000btu, our residential fridge, and some lights w/o overloading the breaker. If you're smart and understand that you can not run everything in your rig like you potentially could on shore power, these generators running together will absolutely do the trick. They fit neatly in the front basement storage bay where the traditional generator would rest. They arrived at our campsite quickly and in perfect condition. Remotes were already synced out of the box and all you need to do is add the oil, connect the battery cable, review the instruction manual to understand what all the functions on the control panel do and're up & generating power. Both my units fired right up w/o hesitation and are surprisingly quiet. Nice pull handle for easy maneuvering and the wheels are solid no flats. My only complaint is that the 10w30 motor oil was leaking in the bag in both generator boxes. It made for quite the mess and I needed to pick up a small bottle of oil in order to maintain the correct fluid levels. A better shipping method for the oil would be appreciated. Great products and would definitely recommend to others.

So Ive had these two generators now for over a year. I use them to power my 5th wheel RV when we go off the grid. I have zero complaints about either of them. Both have run great and generated power as needed. Still highly recommended!

I can’t give an overall review, because, I haven’t unboxed the inverter generators, and parallel kit, but my hats off so far for the great communication. Delivery was gonna be Monday 9/13, but was blown away when the UPS guy showed up on Friday 9/10. Boxes were in great condition and undamaged. I did open them and from the looks of it things look good at a glance. I will completely unbox everything on Monday for a full inspection and test of the units. I also need to add that I was very pleased with customer service. I called them when I didn’t notice a written invoice, and they immediately emailed me one. I also think that their tracking system is awesome. Great job so far. Looking forward to trying it all out in a couple days!

- 333-0003-2-0007

I received my order faster than expected. We actually used these generators a couple days after we received them. The directions given are very easy to follow and both started easily. The only problem I encountered was one generator FOB would not start the generator so I followed the instructions on programming it and it still would not work. I suspected dead battery but found one wire not connected to positive side of the battery. Super easy fix. Both worked very well and really quiet. I could not run both AC units on my Solitude 310GK and all other appliances unless I switched my refrigerator over to propane. After that, I was very happy. Ran one generator in milder weather and only used for amp service and it worked like a champ. I am very pleased thus far with this product and would definitely recommend this product. Sorry no pics at this moment because I am having a rack custom built for them.

AWESOME. Money well spent. Ran my 5th wheel rig both AC units in the New Mexico heat with out any problems. Highly recommend these generators.

- 333-0003-2-0007

I purchased these two generators and parallel kit several months ago and was very pleased with how fast I received the products. When I received the two, I put the oil in the and ran them for a short period of time to make sure they would crank/run. This past weekend was the first time we used the generators - our first camping trip without hookups. When I got the generators out of my workshop, I noticed they both had cracks in the cases near the handles. This is not something that happened between now and when I received them - I believe the cracks were there when I received them but I didn’t notice the cracks in the black plastic case until I got them into full sunlight. While the cracks do not effect the function of the generators, I don’t expect my new generators to have cracks. Other than the cracks, one of the generators (#1) ran very rough during our outing with little load, but it ran smooth with load. I will check the spark plug - hopefully this is an easy fix. The other generator (#2) ran great for most of the the trip until the last day - the it would go into overload lockout with very little load - only a coffee maker. I checked and it was not the coffee maker as other devices would also “trip” the generator into overload lockout. It would be very difficult for me to recommend these generators at that time. I will update if a resolution is found.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. I recommend viewing our FAQ for generator owners that I have linked below. The generators do have a limited 2 year warranty for residential use.

I installed my dual gen set in my Montana 5th wheel RV where my wife and I live full time. I was particularly concerned about power outages around hurricane season, as our home base is Florida. I exercise the generators monthly with a full load for about 30-40 minutes, but I have also used them as a power alternative when my land power has been out - one time for about 6 - 8 hours. I could run everything in my RV, although I have to be careful when trying to operate the microwave. I strap the gen sets down while traveling, and have to turn them slightly to see the controls in preparation for running them. These gen sets are a perfect solution for what I need, and my dealings with etrailer has been outstanding. I used their financing option and it was perfect. Although I don’t have photos of my install, I would gladly provide them if anyone is interested.

Still loving my generator set. Fortunately I haven’t had the need to use them for extended periods, but it sure is good having them just in case. I have a calendar item to remind me monthly to exercise them, and I am faithful to do that. They are great on fuel and not too noisy. They provide a steady source of power to my RV.

Very happy with this setup. The generators fit right in the pass thru storage of my 36' 5th wheel. Have used these numerous times over the past year during our travels. Much easier than hauling the large 5k in the back of my truck. They run quiet, very fuel efficient and easy to start. We are fulltime RV'rs and boondock quite a bit so be able to securely store this in the camper storage is a huge plus.

- 333-0003-2-0007

What a great option. When I purchased the trailer I was given an opportunity to add an Onan Propane Generator to the 5th wheel. I was concerned with another, and much larger load being placed on the propane system; especially when the use of the generator would be limited. The opportunity to purchase this system gave me the same running watts as the propose Onan with the flexibility needed. The generators both started on the first press of the button (after adding the oil). In ECO or quiet mode they are, in fact, very quiet. Additionally, they stored quite well as you can see in the photos.

- 333-0003-2-0007

I just got everything mounted on my food trailer today. I have ran them hooked to my RV today to test them out and condition them. Even though I had them hooked up to the 50 amp side of the parallel kit, the RV said it was just receiving 30 amps. Not sure why that is. This duo will run my food trailer quietly and hopefully easily.

I reached out to my generator contact to try and troubleshoot why you only received 30 amps from the 50 amp plug on the parallel kit. My contact said if you didnt have some of the RVs larger appliances turned on, try turning them on to see if you can draw 50 amps from those appliances. He also mentioned that sometimes RVs have surge protectors that view the inverter as an open ground, so they wont pull full power. If this is what is happening, try using a grounding plug in one of the 1120v outlets on the generators.

The generators work great had an issue on one but figured out that the battery wasn’t connected. We figured it. I definitely refer people to these.

- 333-0003-2-0007

Received my generators on 9/24/2019. came ups ground and all three boxes were undamaged in shipment. Your customer service has been outstanding! Order receipt acknowledgement, shipment notification, tracking information. set up first generator e3200 used battery start and it fired, tried remote on it and it fired right up, went to pull start took a few pulls and fired. manual says to flip yellow choke lever on carb but I do not see one on it? Generator was very quiet as I have a Honda 2000 as well. I will be setting up second generator this week end and firing it up also. So far I am happy! Will be putting them to work in two weeks camping and working them out. I will be changing oil to synthetic as my use runs from warm to cold freezing temps here.

I went out to our demo studio to check out our etrailer generators. As with yours, they did not have a yellow choke lever. Behind the back maintenance panel the choke lever is bare silver metal.

It has been over a year and have used both generators again and getting ready to go again. They have both run good from day one! Have had no issues with them and just changed the oil again. Our camp loves them and they are quiet for their size. Very happy with them.
Tim C - 09/28/2020

No issues, both run good and quiet, very happy with them.

- 333-0003-2-0007

We just got the dual generators with 50 amp parallel box. It came a day early and had everything ready to just add the oil(included). A side note if you buy these, they take the entire bottle of oil so no need to stop and measure fill level. Started right up and I am very pleased with how quiet they are. Less noisy than they sound in video, especially if you are not directed behind exhaust. Picking up my new trailer this weekend and heading out across USA.

Only complaint is the starting battery on both generators quit working after three months. The will not charge so I have to manually start them. We used them daily. Positive is that when both generators are connected they ran both ac units, hot water heater, slide outs, both refrigerators and lights.
Tim - 05/04/2021

Thank you for your review. You are still within the warranty timeframe. Customer Service will contact you within 24-48 hours.

I absolutely love these generators. The remote start is so nice. We camp in the winter a lot and early morning I don’t even get out of bed to start up the generators. We ordered this set when our Kipor 6000 stopped working. I order on a Monday and they arrived on Thursday just in time for our weekend get away. Very please with the service and product here.

- 333-0003-2-0007

SO far I am very impressed! Despite being 3 huge packages, everything came within 2 days. It was very simple to prep and start both generators (instructions were very clear), and the linkage was also simple. They are relatively quiet for their size, and easy to move due to the wheels, handles and light weight. I have not used them for more than brief periods so far, so as long as they continue to work like this, I highly recommend!

- 333-0003-2-0007

Incredibly fast shipping and seamless experience. Like, same day on a Sunday shipped and had it by Wednesday. Perfect since we were leaving for a trip Sunday. Both generators working great so far. Powering a Keystone Cougar 32BHS. Runs both AC's (just start them independently). Plus all our other electrical needs.

- 333-0003-2-0007

I received these generators after 3 weeks of waiting. I realize everyone can't ship as fast as [online store] but 3 weeks for an "in-stock" item? What century is this? After unboxing, followed the provided directions which included connecting the battery disconnect under the side panel. Both generators failed to even attempt to start electrically. They would only start if I pulled the cord and used choke manually. My first thought was that the batteries were dead. So, I plugged the chargers in to charge the battery. I left them for over 24 hours, came back and still no luck. I decided to try to call Firman Customer Service. It was a Saturday afternoon at 4pm and I didn't expect an answer. Surprisingly, I was connected with Dan, who quickly advised me that the battery wires likely disconnected from the batteries during transit and that this was a very common problem with these generators. He even stated that "Quality Assurance" was working on trying to find a solution to the problem so that customers don't have to go through the hassle constantly reconnecting the battery after moving the generator around. The battery leads are not exactly easy to get at, plus they cover them with a rubber top so that you can't see the terminals without pulling the retaining strap off and removing the rubber cover. Due to the battery location, this is a MAJOR PAIN. It's even more of a pain to get the battery back in while keeping the wires connected. The connectors they use just don't have adequate holding power, so the wires fall off far too easily. I solved the problem by soldering the wires to the battery terminals. That will make it fun to change out the battery if it ever dies but at least I don't have to mess around reconnecting these crappy connections when I'm on vacation/camping. With the battery problem solved, I've been able to use the generators and they seem to work well so far and are suprisingly quiet. Time will tell. The main reason for the poor review is for the amount of money these cost, I shouldn't have to do some kind of hack (solder the battery leads) to get the things to work reliably. Clearly, Firman is aware of the problem but doesn't care enough to actually do anything about it. Honestly, I was ready to send them back. Since we have a trip coming up where I planned to use them, I ultimately decided to fix it myself to avoid the hassle of a return. So, I have a hard time recommending these. Hopefully Firman resolves the battery issue and etrailer learns how to properly do logistics in this century.

Delivery was surprisingly quick, generators work great. They are quiet not as quiet as I had hoped for, but still a good product.

- 333-0003-2-0007

Giving it 4 stars for now. Units came packed well and started as soon as the oil and gas was put in. Works as advertised so far. Still need to try them out on my camper, but I am sure it will work great.

etrailer was super fast with shipping. I received product within 2 days of placing my order. These generators are packaged very well. Sufficient cardboard protection on corners and foam blocks as needed. The construction of the generators seem top notch. I added oil, gas, and connected the loose battery connection and fired the first unit up without problems. The second one did not start with the electric start but started right up with the re-coil pull start. I let them run for a few minutes then started playing with the remote start. The first one worked right away. The second one did not. I removed the plastic cover and had found that the battery must have gotten jostled during shipping. The connection at the batter had come off. I re-connected this wire and everything worked fine. A day later I hooked a single generator up to my camper and ran it for a 5 hour break in with a light electrical load. (Refrigerator and fan) The first generator did fine. The second generator would not start? So, I proceeded to take off the plastic covers and found another electrical connector that must have come loose during transporting it out to the camper. Once I plugged this in and replaced all of the covers, the generator started and worked as it should. So I packed the generators up and headed out for an event. The first night I ran the camper on a single generator. It made enough power to run my 12K AC unit, a fan, and my outdoor refrigerator. The generator ran overnight for about 8 hours on one tank of gas with these items running. The next day I experimented with the parallel system and both generators running. I was able to power both my 15K AC unit and my 12K AC unit as well as coffee maker and electric skillet. The parallel system made plenty of power to run everything I needed to run. However now you have 2 units sucking fuel and making noise. So, once the high demand times were over, I disconnected the parallel system and ran a single unit. Over the weekend I found that a single generator will run my larger 15K AC unit, refrigerator, and a fan on the second AC unit. I love that these generators are so much quieter than my previous open frame utility generator. However, under any sort of load and the RPM picks up to cover the demand and they become louder than some other brands of inverter generators. The camping neighbor behind me had a 3500W inverter generator from a import tool store that were much quieter than the etrailer generators. However, I noticed the etrailer generators had much less vibration under load. The etrailer generator seems to run smoother. I feel the quality of the etrailer generators great for the price. I just wish that they were a little quieter.

They work great. We will get a lot of use from them. Would have given 5 stars but we thought they would be quieter than they are. We will be using them for our 40ft 5th wheel and look forward to seeing them work on one only and in tandem. Thank you for the fast shipping and links to help if needed.

- 333-0003-2-0007

PROS = Just what I needed at a great price. More than met the needs of my 5th wheel. CONS= You have to be real careful with the pin connectors when using the Parallel connector box. They seem to be a little fragile. You just have to make sure the system is places away from were anyone will walk or do like I did and mount it to a retrofitted luggage carrier that mounts on the back of the 5th wheel trailer hitch.

- 333-0003-2-0007

These generators are amazing! They are very quiet and much lighter than 1 6000 watt generator would be. These were originally advertised as including covers. They initially did not come with the covers, but Carol made sure I received them. Thanks for a great product and customer service!

I ordered the pair of generators with the parallel kit on Thursday night at around 8:30pm. Got an email at 10pm saying the order had shipped. Received it on the following Monday. Execellennt service. The generators were packed very well and arrived with no damage...same for the parallel kit. I had the first generator up and running within 20 minutes without any issues. I then setup the second generator and started it up. It was running VERY rough and would not even out. It sounded like the choke was stuck. I opened up the maintenance bay and sure enough it was. I pushed the button on the front and the choke closed but when I pushed it again it would not return to the open position. I manually moved it back an forth about 20 times and then it moved freely when the button was pushed. Started it up again and it ran great. This second generator did produce some smoke for about 5 minutes but that finally subsided. I then took a 1500w space heater and plugged it into each generator to see how they both performed. Everything was perfect. I then decided to hook up the parallel kit. This feature is the main reason I bought these so that I can use it with my 36' 5th wheel RV. Those ground nuts were VERY tight but I finally got them lose. I am probably going to replace those with wing nuts so that I don't need yet another tool to keep handy. After hooking it up and starting both generators I plugged my RV surge protector into the 50amp plug (my RV is not here so this was just a dry run). All was good but it showed there was an open ground. A quick google search told me I needed a little dongle that you plug into one of the 20amp outlets that ties the ground and neutral together. I have ordered those and will try that again once I receive them. I have no doubt that it will remedy that situation based on what I read. It will be a while before I can get my RV here to the house to hook everything up to see how it really performs but I feel confident all will be good. Great product!!!

Took my new generators on a two-week Backwoods trip. They worked awesome could run all 50 amps of the trailer when needed. Looking forward to the summer when I can try both air conditioners with the generators.

- 333-0003-2-0007

I got these generators about 2 months ago. And at the beginning I really loved them. But over time one of the generators is really sensitive. If you move it a little bit it will surge for awhile when starting it. After it works through it, it's fine again. And the other generator has been running rough from day one. I won't let send it back but I'm in Hawaii. And can't justify that cost. One huge improvement that should be made is the parallel cables....they should at least be 5 feet long. Over all the products are just okay.

  • Using Generators to Power RV At High Altitudes
When you get to higher elevations (typically right in the range where you recently camped - 6,000 to 8,000 feet above sea level) generators do have a tougher time running efficiently due to a few factors but mainly because the lower oxygen density requires more airflow for the mix of air and fuel. Many generators are indeed compatible with separate "high altitude" kits that allow them to run to the best of their ability in this environment. We don't currently carry Yamaha generators...
