Powerful, Portable Generators

e3200 outlets

These e3200R etrailer inverter generators pack 6,000 watts of clean AC power to get you up and running whether you're at the campsite, worksite, or tailgate party. Each powerful generator comes with (2) 120V outlets for powering household appliances, tools, and electronic devices. They each feature (1) 120V TT-30R outlet for a RV connection, ensuring you'll have access to electricity no matter where you take your RV or if there's a power outage at the campground. Additionally, they each have (1) 12V 8.3-Amp DC outlet that charges automotive and marine batteries. Lastly, each includes (1) 5V USB outlet to charge cell phones, tablets, and other portable electronics.

e3200 handle and wheels

Each unit has a folding handle and wheels for easy transport. Additionally, two built-in, ergonomic carry handles give you a simple way to pick up and move them when needed.

Parallel Ability

e3200R parallel ports

The external parallel kit lets you pair the 3,200 watt generators together to increase power output to 6,000 watts. Simply connect the cables to the corresponding parallel ports on each generator's control panel. By increasing the power output, you can run equipment with higher electrical demands.

parallel kit

The parallel kit includes a 120V 50-Amp 14-50R for RV connection. It also has a 120V 30-Amp L5-30R twist-lock outlet that powers large household appliances and tools. The included circuit breakers in each outlet protect connected equipment from overloading. Additionally, it includes integrated LED lights under each outlet to provide better visibility while working in low-light conditions.

Easy Remote Start Engine

e3200R remote control

Each generator's engine is designed to start up easily so you can power up faster and without hassle. The key to this easy startup is the electric starter. In conjunction with the remote, turning on your generator becomes remarkably easy and worry-free. Simply turn the fuel valve to "on" and flip the engine switch to the "run" position. Then, push the battery power restore switch for a few seconds and release. At the push of a button on the remote, the generator will fire up and be ready to go.

Before starting your generator, ensure nothing is connected to the outlets. Start your generator and let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up and stabilize. Check to make sure the circuit breaker is in on position before continuing. Once the generator is up and running, you may connect your electrical loads. To follow the recommended order of operation, connect the device with the highest starting watts first, like your air conditioner or refrigerator, and work your way down to the device with the lowest starting watts. By connecting devices in this order, you can make the most of your generator's capacity through connecting high wattage loads when there is more power available.

Safe for Sensitive Electronic Devices

Electronic devices are made with delicate circuitry that requires steady, controlled electrical current. The electrical current produced by standard generators, however, is uncontrolled, allowing extreme fluctuations in power. And these fluctuations can easily damage your sensitive electronic devices.

These generators, on the other hand, have built-in inverters that control the voltage that is produced. This important feature ensures each generator is safe to use with your electronic equipment such as cell phones, computers, and medical devices.

Economy Mode Provides Fuel Efficiency

e3200 eco mode

With the flip of a switch, you can activate each generator's economy mode feature. This mode adjusts engine speed to match the power demands of your connected devices. When using low-draw devices like tablets, cell phones, televisions, and radios, the engine runs more efficiently to save fuel and keeps noise to a minimum. The engine only runs at normal speed when additional power is needed. For example, when using a power tool, the engine will only speed up when the device is actively being used. This mode is not only kinder to your pocketbook and your ears, it's also easier on the environment.

Safety Features

e3200 safety lights

Each generator comes with a number of safety features that protect both you and the generators. The control panel contains two warning lights indicating low oil and overloading. When the engine is low on oil, it will automatically shut down to prevent damage. If an overload is detected, either by exceeding the generator's limits or a power surge, the circuit breaker will stop supplying power to the connected devices. A built-in spark arrester helps prevent any sparking that might burn someone or start a fire, protecting both you and the environment. This arrester has been certified by the USDA Forest Service. Also, a digital voltage regulator assists in minimizing voltage fluctuations which helps to maintain a steady flow of electricity.

Choosing a Generator

To choose a generator that meets your needs, you must match the size of the generator (that is, the starting output and running output in watts) with the electrical demands of the equipment that you want to operate.

Power Demands

Starting (surge) wattage is the power a device requires at startup. Running (rated) wattage is the power needed to keep the device running. A large appliance with an electric motor such as a furnace, refrigerator, air conditioner, or washing machine may require 2 to 3 times more starting wattage than running wattage.

It is always best to start your generator with no load connected, then add each device one at a time. Additionally, a good practice to consider is connecting your devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts. As you connect and start devices, your available wattage decreases. This order of operation allows you to start devices with the highest power demands when there is more power available.

Will This Generator Run My RV Air Conditioner?

At etrailer, we perform numerous tests on generators to put them through real-world experience. An extensive part of this testing includes starting and running RV air conditioners. The following table will help you decide if the e3200 inverter generator kit has enough power to handle this critical function in your RV.

Determining Your Power Needs

When choosing a generator, knowing the amount of power you will need is crucial to your decision. Whether you are preparing for an emergency situation at home or taking a weekend trip in the RV, planning out your application is essential. The two calculations below provide power estimations that will help point you to a generator that is right for your needs.

Industry Standard Calculation

The Industry Standard Calculation is a quick and easy way to determine your required wattage. It may provide some padding in your wattage requirements, which could give you more power than you actually need, but you shouldn't have to worry about not having enough power. The following steps will help you quickly calculate the correct size generator to meet your application.

As stated earlier, you should always start your generator without any load, and then connect each device one at a time. The following calculation requires this approach to work. However, using this calculation removes the worry of connecting devices in a certain order.

1. Determine the starting watts and running watts for the devices that you want to plug into the generator.

a. Find the starting (surge) watts and running (rated) watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator. Look for a sticker or plate on each device or check your owner's manuals.

b. If your device or manual only shows amps and volts, watts can also be determined through a simple formula. (Amps x Volts = Watts)

c. List all of your starting watts and running watts as seen in Table 1 below.

Table 1

Example DevicesStarting WattsRunning Watts
Air compressor2,0001,000
Refrigerator1,600800
Microwave01,000
Blender850400

2. To find the total starting watts required, add the starting watts for the device with the highest value to the running watts of all the other devices from Table 1.

2,000 + 800 + 1,000 + 400 = 4,200 total starting watts

3. To find the total running watts, add all of the running watts together from Table 1.

1,000 + 800 + 1,000 + 400 = 3,200 total running watts

To run all of these devices simultaneously, you would require a generator with at least 4,200 starting watts and 3,200 running watts.

Advanced Precise Calculation

While the method for calculating your power needs outlined above will work, it isn't the most precise. If you aren't afraid of doing a little more math, you can use the Advanced Precise Calculation to get a more accurate idea of how much power you will need and potentially save yourself some money. Because the calculation above pads in enough power to ensure you can start your devices in any order, it may point you to a bigger and more expensive generator than you need. However, by following the more regimented, order-of-operations calculation below, you'll get a much more precise idea of how much power you need, which could in turn point you to a smaller and less expensive generator.

Again, you should always start your generator without any load, and then connect each device one at a time. The following calculation also requires that you start your devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts. When you connect devices in this order, you can start high demand devices when there is more power available.

1. Determine the starting watts and running watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator.

a. Find the starting (surge) watts and running (rated) watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator. Look for a sticker or plate on each device or check your owner's manuals.

b. If your device or manual only shows amps and volts, watts can also be determined through a simple formula. (Amps x Volts = Watts)

c. List out these devices from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts as seen in Table 2 below.

Table 2

Example DevicesStarting WattsRunning Watts
Air compressor2,0001,000
Refrigerator1,600800
Microwave01,000
Blender850400

2. To find the total running watts, add all of the running watts together from Table 2.

1,000 + 800 + 1,000 + 400 = 3,200 total running watts

3. In Table 3, shown below, the values from Table 2 are used to calculate the highest total starting watts required as devices are connected and running. This number represents the highest power requirement you will encounter as you connect all of your devices to the generator. To find this, add the starting watts of each new device you connect to the combined running watts of all connected devices. The highest of these numbers will be the total starting watts required. And again, remember to always connect devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts.

Table 3

DeviceStarting WattsRunning Watts of All Connected DevicesTotal Starting Watts Required
1. Air compressor2,000 +0 (nothing connected)= 2,000
2. Refrigerator1,600 +1,000 (air compressor)= 2,600
3. Microwave1,000* +1,800 (air compressor + refrigerator)= 2,800
4. Blender850 +2,800 (air compressor + refrigerator + microwave)= 3,650

* Even though the microwave does not have starting watts listed, you have to account for the power needed to actually run it.

850 + 2,800 = 3,650 highest total starting watts required

In order to run all of these devices simultaneously, you would require a generator with at least 3,650 starting watts and 3,200 running watts. The starting watts are determined by the highest total starting watts required during the calculation in Table 3/Step 3. The running watts are determined by the total running watts from Step 2.

Video Transcript for etrailer Generators - Inverter - 333-0003-2-0007 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the etrailer portable inverter generators. Now, the inverter generators provide a portable power source. This kit is available with manual start, which is what I'm showing you today. It's also available with manual and electric start. So both options are available at etrailer.com. Again, today I'm showing you the manual start generators.

Now, the electric start generators come with a remote that allows you to start and stop the units up to 164 feet away. Now, all the connections and everything's basically the same whether it's manual or electric start. What I mentioned between manual and electric is really the only difference between the kits that are available. The starting power output is 6,000 watts and the running power output is 5,500 watts when paired. The single starting power output is 3,200 watts and the single running power output is 2,900 watts. These generators are great for camping, RVing, work sites, and emergency situations. Really, any application that calls for needing affordable power.

You can use the generators individually, or again, you can pair them together and run them parallel to get more power. It does come with the necessary parallel kit. It comes with everything you need to get connected. It comes with the appropriate connections. Just plug right into the generators to combine them and get more power by combining them together. So parallel kit is included.

The parallel kit includes a 50 amp 14-50R outlet and a 30 amp L5-30R twist lock outlet.Overall, they're a really nice design. It comes with some accessories, as well. So you get two bottles of SAE 10w30 engine oil, you get your oil funnels, and you get two tool kits or hardware kits. So you get the wrenches for your spark plugs and you get screwdrivers to remove any of the screws on the unit to gain access to some panels or the area behind panels. So, the screwdrivers are included to remove the panel so that way you can maintenance and service your generators as needed. It also comes with battery charging cables.

You get two of them, and those are designed to plug into this port right here and they are used to charge 12 volt automotive-style batteries only, so please keep that in mind. Also, these are extremely portable, so they have built-in handles right here on top so that we can lift them, you can move them around, and it also has an extension handle on one side with a set of wheels on the other side, and so that allows you to tilt the generator up and push it around. So again, nice, easy mobility with these generators. They also feature never flat wheels that are made from durable plastic and rubber. Also, on the bottom they have rubber feet. Those are padded. They're dampeners, basically, so the units don't move or shift around while running. They also offer quiet operation with the Whisper Series muffler. Noise level is around 58 decibels per generator, measured at 25 feet away at 25% load in standard mode. Now, each generator features a 171 cc, single cylinder, air-cooled, four stroke, OHB engine that's overhead valve for longer life, higher performance, and lower maintenance. Each one has a 1.8 gallon gas tank, uses clean and fresh regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum 87 octane. They are tethered on there so that way you don't misplace or lose the cap, and then each one has a filter inside so it keeps the gasoline from becoming contaminated. It keeps the unwanted items out of your clean, fresh gas. Now, the run time will vary, depending on how it's used, but it does have up to a nine hour run time at 25% load, that's per generator. They offer clean power with less than 3% THD. That stands for total harmonic distortion, so it is good for charging your electrical components like your phones, your tablets, and your laptops.I'm going to grab the manual that it comes with and we're going to go over all the connections and all the functions on the control panel. It's the exact same footprint and layout for the other generator. Now, before I do that, I do want to mention that the rated AC voltage is 120 volts, rated frequency is 60 hertz. Each generator measures about 23 1/4" long by 18" tall by about 17 7/8" wide.So I got the book here. We're going to go over the connections real quick and the control panel. So this right here is the recoil starter. So we have the recoil starter right here and then we have the fuel valve knob and we also have our choke button. And then moving over here, this switch is the engine switch, so you flip the switch to the on position and pull the recoil starter to start the generator. Turn it to the off position to turn off the generator.Directly below that we have economy control switch. This can be activated in order to minimize fuel consumption and noise level while operating the unit during times of reduced electrical output, allowing the engine speed to idle during periods of non-use, and then the engine speed returns to normal when an electrical load is connected, and when the economy switch is off, the engine runs at normal speed continuously. Then right here we have the three-in-one data miner. That's a multimeter, so you can push the select button to show the voltage, hertz, and running hours. And then right here we have the 120 volt, 20 amp duplex plugs. So 20 amps of current may be drawn from this 120 volt receptacle, so you've got two of those plugs or receptacles. And then above that we have the 120 volt, 30 amp RV receptacle with a maximum full load of 30 amps current can be drawn from this 120 volt receptacle. They also have those dust caps that go over it to keep the connections safe from moisture, dirt, and debris when they're not being used, or grime. We have some indicator lights. So we have the output ready indicator light, we have an overload indicator light, and we have oil warning indicator light. We also have our USB connection which is located right there, and then we have our circuit breaker reset. So we have this one right here, that's for AC, and then we have this one right here for DC.The connections below that, we have two little connection ports. Those are for the parallel operation outlet, so those would be used in conjunction with the cables coming out of that parallel kit. And then we have the 12 volt DC outlet. This is used only to charge 12 volt automotive-type batteries with the included charging cables. Then we have our ground terminal right there and then again, the unit comes with outlet covers to protect the receptacles from dust and dirt and debris and grime and all that stuff that has a tendency to want to get in there.I do want to point out that the labeling on these are really nice. So we have all the technical specifications that we need to be aware of. We also have basically a general overview of how to start it. It walks us through the steps, and overall these are a really great-looking generator. And again, this kit allows you to pair them together and get more power when needed. That's going to do it for today's look at the etrailer portable invertor generators.

I got these generators about 2 months ago. And at the beginning I really loved them. But over time one of the generators is really sensitive. If you move it a little bit it will surge for awhile when starting it. After it works through it, it's fine again. And the other generator has been running rough from day one. I won't let send it back but I'm in Hawaii. And can't justify that cost. One huge improvement that should be made is the parallel cables....they should at least be 5 feet long. Over all the products are just okay. 635879

PROS = Just what I needed at a great price. More than met the needs of my 5th wheel. CONS= You have to be real careful with the pin connectors when using the Parallel connector box. They seem to be a little fragile. You just have to make sure the system is places away from were anyone will walk or do like I did and mount it to a retrofitted luggage carrier that mounts on the back of the 5th wheel trailer hitch. 638314

I just got everything mounted on my food trailer today. I have ran them hooked to my RV today to test them out and condition them. Even though I had them hooked up to the 50 amp side of the parallel kit, the RV said it was just receiving 30 amps. Not sure why that is. This duo will run my food trailer quietly and hopefully easily. 681371

Comments

I reached out to my generator contact to try and troubleshoot why you only received 30 amps from the 50 amp plug on the parallel kit. My contact said if you didnt have some of the RVs larger appliances turned on, try turning them on to see if you can draw 50 amps from those appliances. He also mentioned that sometimes RVs have surge protectors that view the inverter as an open ground, so they wont pull full power. If this is what is happening, try using a grounding plug in one of the 1120v outlets on the generators.

etrailer was super fast with shipping. I received product within 2 days of placing my order. These generators are packaged very well. Sufficient cardboard protection on corners and foam blocks as needed. The construction of the generators seem top notch. I added oil, gas, and connected the loose battery connection and fired the first unit up without problems. The second one did not start with the electric start but started right up with the re-coil pull start. I let them run for a few minutes then started playing with the remote start. The first one worked right away. The second one did not. I removed the plastic cover and had found that the battery must have gotten jostled during shipping. The connection at the batter had come off. I re-connected this wire and everything worked fine. A day later I hooked a single generator up to my camper and ran it for a 5 hour break in with a light electrical load. (Refrigerator and fan) The first generator did fine. The second generator would not start? So, I proceeded to take off the plastic covers and found another electrical connector that must have come loose during transporting it out to the camper. Once I plugged this in and replaced all of the covers, the generator started and worked as it should. So I packed the generators up and headed out for an event. The first night I ran the camper on a single generator. It made enough power to run my 12K AC unit, a fan, and my outdoor refrigerator. The generator ran overnight for about 8 hours on one tank of gas with these items running. The next day I experimented with the parallel system and both generators running. I was able to power both my 15K AC unit and my 12K AC unit as well as coffee maker and electric skillet. The parallel system made plenty of power to run everything I needed to run. However now you have 2 units sucking fuel and making noise. So, once the high demand times were over, I disconnected the parallel system and ran a single unit. Over the weekend I found that a single generator will run my larger 15K AC unit, refrigerator, and a fan on the second AC unit. I love that these generators are so much quieter than my previous open frame utility generator. However, under any sort of load and the RPM picks up to cover the demand and they become louder than some other brands of inverter generators. The camping neighbor behind me had a 3500W inverter generator from a import tool store that were much quieter than the etrailer generators. However, I noticed the etrailer generators had much less vibration under load. The etrailer generator seems to run smoother. I feel the quality of the etrailer generators great for the price. I just wish that they were a little quieter. 691289

The product came well packaged and exactly what I ordered. The inverter/generators started right up as the directions said they would. The parallel set-up went together easy. One thing I totally dig is you can sync both generators to one key fob—giving you two fobs able to start and stop the generators. I will write a follow up as soon as I get them installed in our class A RV. 727794

Order arrived a day early. None of the 3 packages were damaged. Removed from box and followed set up instructions filling both units with oil provided and fresh gas. Started units one at a time pull cord, on board electric start and remote start. Both operated flawlessly. 1/2 as noisy as my old generator. They powered everything I connected. Connecting the parallel box was simple. Everything is very well built. Very happy. 722422

Received my generators on 9/24/2019. came ups ground and all three boxes were undamaged in shipment. Your customer service has been outstanding! Order receipt acknowledgement, shipment notification, tracking information. set up first generator e3200 used battery start and it fired, tried remote on it and it fired right up, went to pull start took a few pulls and fired. manual says to flip yellow choke lever on carb but I do not see one on it? Generator was very quiet as I have a Honda 2000 as well. I will be setting up second generator this week end and firing it up also. So far I am happy! Will be putting them to work in two weeks camping and working them out. I will be changing oil to synthetic as my use runs from warm to cold freezing temps here. 707817

Comments

I went out to our demo studio to check out our etrailer generators. As with yours, they did not have a yellow choke lever. Behind the back maintenance panel the choke lever is bare silver metal.

Review from a similar etrailer etrailer Generator Electric in Generators

I purchased the etrailer 3200 watt generator to power our 5th wheel trailer over the extended July 4th weekend as a replacement for a Honda EU3000i that had been stolen. We were concerned that this generator maybe too noisy or wouldn't perform as well as the Honda, but were pleasantly surprised by the opposite result. We do a lot of dry camping and used the Honda for many week and weekend trips. We had come to understand that when the AC was running that you couldn't use the microwave oven, but we had no such issue with this generator. We really like the remote start feature of this generator and found it very useful. On both this unit and the Honda, we used the eco feature and found it performed better with the etrailer generator. Over the four day weekend we used less than four gallons of fuel. 667791

I followed the start up prep instructions and it started right up with the start/stop button. Weight is manageable for lifting. Sound levels are low. Seems like an excellent product. So far so good. My wife will ne happy to have AC when we remote camp with our new 5th Wheel. 636322

Review from a similar etrailer etrailer Generator Electric in Generators

Wow! I’m so Impressed with this generator. I have an Rpod travel trailer and need a compact generator with a dedicated 30 amp outlet to run my appliances. I saw this unit on the trailer website and , with the financing option, bought it. It arrived a couple days before it was expected to. Set up was incredibly easy and on a 100 plus degree day, I had it up and running in a few minutes. I plugged it in and ran my a/c unit on high for over 2 hrs. I heard the unit switch from eco to normal mode as the compressor cycled on and off. No over load unlike the prior generators being run in parallel. I probably won’t ever use all of the other options for electricity but there are plenty. It also is liftable by one person and the wheels and integrated handle mean I don’t have to lug it around for long. This is a home run for me. Thank you! 656400

We just got back from a week of hunting and using the generator for the first time and we absolutely loved that thing , There were others that used a Honda generator because they are know for being quiet , this generator was just as quiet and the remote start was awesome , I didn't have to go outside to start it up or shut it down. This was also the first trip with our new RV also... So Happy we chose this generator !! 571745
