Powerful, Portable Generators

e3200 outlets

These e3200 etrailer inverter generators combine to provide 6,000 watts of clean AC power to get you up and running whether you're at the campsite, worksite, or tailgate party. Each powerful generator comes with (2) 120V GFCI outlets for safely powering household appliances, tools, and electronic devices. They each feature (1) 120V TT-30R outlet for a RV connection, ensuring you'll have access to electricity no matter where you take your RV or if there's a power outage at the campground. Additionally, they each have (1) 12V 8.3-Amp DC outlet that charges automotive and marine batteries. Lastly, each includes (1) 5V USB outlet to charge cell phones, tablets, and other portable electronics.

e3200 handle and wheels

Each unit has a folding handle and wheels for easy transport. Additionally, two built-in, ergonomic carry handles give you a simple way to pick up and move them when needed.

Parallel Ability

parallel kit connected to e2000 generators

The external parallel kit lets you pair the 3,200 watt generators together to increase power output to 6,000 watts. Simply connect the cables to the corresponding parallel ports on each generator's control panel. By increasing the power output, you can run equipment with higher electrical demands.

parallel kit

The parallel kit includes a 120V 50-Amp 14-50R for RV connection. It also has a 120V 30-Amp L5-30R twist-lock outlet that powers large household appliances and tools. The included circuit breakers in each outlet protect connected equipment from overloading. Additionally, it includes integrated LED lights under each outlet to provide better visibility while working in low-light conditions.

Easy-Start Engine

Each generator features a comfort grip recoil pull handle that provides easy manual startup. They use standard unleaded gas, meaning there is no need to mix gas and oil.

Before starting your generator, ensure nothing is connected to the outlets. Start your generator and let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up and stabilize. Check to make sure the circuit breaker is in on position before continuing. Once the generator is up and running, you may connect your electrical loads. To follow the recommended order of operation, connect the device with the highest starting watts first, like your air conditioner or refrigerator, and work your way down to the device with the lowest starting watts. By connecting devices in this order, you can make the most of your generator's capacity through connecting high wattage loads when there is more power available.

Safe for Sensitive Electronic Devices

Electronic devices are made with delicate circuitry that requires steady, controlled electrical current. The electrical current produced by standard generators, however, is uncontrolled, allowing extreme fluctuations in power. And these fluctuations can easily damage your sensitive electronic devices.

These generators, on the other hand, have built-in inverters that control the voltage that is produced. This important feature ensures each generator is safe to use with your electronic equipment such as cell phones, computers, and medical devices.

Economy Mode Provides Fuel Efficiency

e3200 eco mode

With the flip of a switch, you can activate each generator's economy mode feature. This mode adjusts engine speed to match the power demands of your connected devices. When using low-draw devices like tablets, cell phones, televisions, and radios, the engine runs more efficiently to save fuel and keeps noise to a minimum. The engine only runs at normal speed when additional power is needed. For example, when using a power tool, the engine will only speed up when the device is actively being used. This mode is not only kinder to your pocketbook and your ears, it's also easier on the environment.

Safety Features

e3200 safety lights

Each generator comes with a number of safety features that protect both you and the generators. The control panel contains two warning lights indicating low oil and overloading. When the engine is low on oil, it will automatically shut down to prevent damage. If an overload is detected, either by exceeding the generator's limits or a power surge, the circuit breaker will stop supplying power to the connected devices. A built-in spark arrester helps prevent any sparking that might burn someone or start a fire, protecting both you and the environment. This arrester has been certified by the USDA Forest Service. Also, a digital voltage regulator assists in minimizing voltage fluctuations which helps to maintain a steady flow of electricity.

Choosing a Generator

To choose a generator that meets your needs, you must match the size of the generator (that is, the starting output and running output in watts) with the electrical demands of the equipment that you want to operate.

Power Demands

Starting (surge) wattage is the power a device requires at startup. Running (rated) wattage is the power needed to keep the device running. A large appliance with an electric motor such as a furnace, refrigerator, air conditioner, or washing machine may require 2 to 3 times more starting wattage than running wattage.

It is always best to start your generator with no load connected, then add each device one at a time. Additionally, a good practice to consider is connecting your devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts. As you connect and start devices, your available wattage decreases. This order of operation allows you to start devices with the highest power demands when there is more power available.

Determining Your Power Needs

When choosing a generator, knowing the amount of power you will need is crucial to your decision. Whether you are preparing for an emergency situation at home or taking a weekend trip in the RV, planning out your application is essential. The two calculations below provide power estimations that will help point you to a generator that is right for your needs.

Industry Standard Calculation

The Industry Standard Calculation is a quick and easy way to determine your required wattage. It may provide some padding in your wattage requirements, which could give you more power than you actually need, but you shouldn't have to worry about not having enough power. The following steps will help you quickly calculate the correct size generator to meet your application.

As stated earlier, you should always start your generator without any load, and then connect each device one at a time. The following calculation requires this approach to work. However, using this calculation removes the worry of connecting devices in a certain order.

1. Determine the starting watts and running watts for the devices that you want to plug into the generator.

a. Find the starting (surge) watts and running (rated) watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator. Look for a sticker or plate on each device or check your owner's manuals.

b. If your device or manual only shows amps and volts, watts can also be determined through a simple formula. (Amps x Volts = Watts)

c. List all of your starting watts and running watts as seen in Table 1 below.

Table 1

Example DevicesStarting WattsRunning Watts
Air conditioner (10,000 Btu)1,8001,200
Refrigerator1,600800
Electric drill600450
Floor fan0100

2. To find the total starting watts required, add the starting watts for the device with the highest value to the running watts of all the other devices from Table 1.

1,800 + 800 + 450 + 100 = 3,150 total starting watts

3. To find the total running watts, add all of the running watts together from Table 1.

1,200 + 800 + 450 + 100 = 2,550 total running watts

To run all of these devices simultaneously, you would require a generator with at least 3,150 starting watts and 2,550 running watts.

Advanced Precise Calculation

While the method for calculating your power needs outlined above will work, it isn't the most precise. If you aren't afraid of doing a little more math, you can use the Advanced Precise Calculation to get a more accurate idea of how much power you will need and potentially save yourself some money. Because the calculation above pads in enough power to ensure you can start your devices in any order, it may point you to a bigger and more expensive generator than you need. However, by following the more regimented, order-of-operations calculation below, you'll get a much more precise idea of how much power you need, which could in turn point you to a smaller and less expensive generator.

Again, you should always start your generator without any load, and then connect each device one at a time. The following calculation also requires that you start your devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts. When you connect devices in this order, you can start high demand devices when there is more power available.

1. Determine the starting watts and running watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator.

a. Find the starting (surge) watts and running (rated) watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator. Look for a sticker or plate on each device or check your owner's manuals.

b. If your device or manual only shows amps and volts, watts can also be determined through a simple formula. (Amps x Volts = Watts)

c. List out these devices from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts as seen in Table 2 below.

Table 2

Example DevicesStarting WattsRunning Watts
Air conditioner (10,000 Btu)1,8001,200
Refrigerator1,600800
Electric drill600450
Floor fan0100

2. To find the total running watts, add all of the running watts together from Table 2.

1,200 + 800 + 450 + 100 = 2,550 total running watts

3. In Table 3, shown below, the values from Table 2 are used to calculate the highest total starting watts required as devices are connected and running. This number represents the highest power requirement you will encounter as you connect all of your devices to the generator. To find this, add the starting watts of each new device you connect to the combined running watts of all connected devices. The highest of these numbers will be the total starting watts required. And again, remember to always connect devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts.

Table 3

DeviceStarting WattsRunning Watts of All Connected DevicesTotal Starting Watts Required
1. Air conditioner1,800 +0 (nothing connected)= 1,800
2. Refrigerator1,600 +1,200 (AC)= 2,800
3. Electric drill600 +2,000 (AC + refrigerator)= 2,600
4. Floor fan100* +2,450 (AC + refrigerator + electric drill)= 2,550

* Even though the floor fan does not have starting watts listed, you have to account for the power needed to actually run it.

1,600 + 1,200 = 2,800 highest total starting watts required

In order to run all of these devices simultaneously, you would require a generator with at least 2,800 starting watts and 2,550 running watts. The starting watts are determined by the highest total starting watts required during the calculation in Table 3/Step 3. The running watts are determined by the total running watts from Step 2.

Video Transcript for etrailer Generators - Inverter - 333-0002-2-0007 Review

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the eTrailer Portable Inverter Generators. Now, the inverter generators provide a portable power source. This kit is available with manual start, which is what I'm showing you today. It's also available with manual and electric start, so both options are available at etrailer.com. Again, today, I'm showing you the manual start generators. Now, the electric start generators come with a remote that allows you to start and stop the units up to 164 feet away. Now, all the connections and everything is basically the same, whether it's manual or electric start.

What I mention between manual and electric is really the only difference between the kits that are available. The starting power output is 6000 watts, and the running power output is 5500 watts when paired. The single starting power output is 3200 watts, and the single running power output is 2900 watts. These generators are great for camping, rving, work sites, and emergency situations, really any application that calls for needing portable power. You can use the generators individually or again, you can pair them together and run them parallel to get more power. It does come with the necessary parallel kit.

It comes with everything you need to connected. It comes with the appropriate connections. Just plug right into the generators to combine them and get more power by combing them together, so parallel kit is included. The parallel kit includes a 50-Amp 14-50R outlet and a 30-Amp L5-30R twist lock outlet.Overall, they're a really nice design. It comes with some accessories as well, so you get two bottles of SAE 10W30 engine oil, you get your oil funnels, and you get two toolkits or hardware kits, so you get the wrenches for your spark plugs, and you get screwdrivers to remove any of the screws on the unit to gain access to some panels or the area behind panels.

The screwdrivers are included to remove the panels so that way you can maintenance and service your generators as needed. It also comes with battery charging cables. You get two of them, and those are designed to plug into this port right here, and they are used to charge 12 volt automotive style batteries only, so please keep that in mind. Also, these are extremely portable, so they have built-in handles right here on top, so we can lift them. You can move them around, and it also has an extension handle on one side with a set of wheels on the other side. That allows you to tilt the generator up and push it around, so again, nice, easy mobility with these generators. They also feature never flat wheels that are made from durable plastic and rubber.

Also, on the bottom, they have rubber feet. Those are padded. They're dampeners basically, so the units don't move or shift around while running. They also offer quiet operation with the whisper series muffler. Noise level is around 58 decibels per generator measured at 25 feet away at 25 percent load and standard mode. Now, each generator features a one 71CC single cylinder air-cooled, four-stroke, OHV engine that's overhead valve for longer life, higher performance, and lower maintenance. Each one has a 1.8 gallon gas tank. Uses clean and fresh, regular, unleaded gasoline with a minimum 87 octane. They are tethered on there, so that way you don't misplace or lose the cap, and then each one has as filter inside so it keeps the gasoline from becoming contaminated, keeps unwanted items out of your clean, fresh gas. Now, the run time will vary depending on how it's used, but it does have up to a nine-hour run time at 25 percent low, that's per generator. They offer clean power with less than three percent THD. That stands for Total Harmonic Distortion, so it is good for charging your electrical components like your phones, your tablets, and your laptops.I'm gonna grab the manual that it comes with, and we're gonna go over all the connections and all the functions on the control panel. It's the exact same footprint and layout for the other generator. Now, before I do that, I do want to mention that the rated AC voltage is 120 volts rated frequency of 60 Hz. Each generator measures about 23 and one quarter inches long by 18 inches tall by about 17 and seven eighth inches wide.I got the book here. We're gonna go over the connections real quick and the control panel. This right here is the recoil starter, so we have the recoil starter right here, and then we have the fuel valve knob, and we also have our choke button, and then moving over here, this switch is the engine switch, so you flip the switch to the on position and pull the recoil starter to start the generator. Turn it to the off position to turn off the generator.Directly below that, we have economy control switch. This can be activated in order to minimize fuel consumption and noise level while operating the unit during times of reduced electrical output, allowing the engine speed to idle during periods of non-use, and then the engine speed returns to normal when an electrical load is connected, and when the economy switch is off, the engine runs at normal speed continuously. The right here, we have the three-in-one data miner. That's a multi-meter, so you can push the select button to show the voltage, Hz and running hours. And then right here, we have the 120 volt 20-Amp duplex plugs, so 20 amps of current may be drawn from this 120 volt receptacle, so you got two of those plugs or receptacle, and then above that we have the 120 volt 30-Amp RV receptacle with a maximum full load of 30 amps. Current can be drawn from this 120 volt receptacle. They also have those dust caps that go over it to keep the connections safe from moisture, dirt, and debris when they're not being used or grime. We have some indicator lights, so we have the output ready indicator light, we have a overload indicator light, and we have oil warning indicator light. We also have our USB connection, which is located right there, and then we have our circuit breakers reset, so we have this one right here, that's for AC, and then we have this one right here for DC. The connections below that, we have two little connection ports. Those are for the parallel operation outlet, so those would be used in conjunction with the cables coming out of that parallel kit, and then we have the 12 volt DC outlet. This is used only to charge 12 volt automotive type batteries with the included charging tables. Then we have our ground terminal right there, and then again, the unit comes with outlet covers to protect the receptacles from dust, and dirt, and debris, and grime, and all that stuff that has a tendency to want to get in there. I do want to point out that the labeling on these are really nice. We have all the technical specifications that we need to be aware of. We also have basically a general overview of how to start it. It walks us through the steps, and overall, these are a really great looking generator, and again, this kit allows you to pair them together, and get more power when needed. That's gonna do it for today's look at the eTrailer Portable Inverter Generators.

One of the two generators in this kit did not have an air filter element in it. Glad I took the air filter cover off and checked before running it. Seems like good quality product. Parallel wires are very small diameter. I will have to check parallel operations to know if that feature works as advertised. Each of the two generators start easy, run quiet, and support 1600 watts with ease. 569803

I received my Generator extremely fast. (3 days from order date). I haven't taken it camping with me yet but I did add the oil it came with and added gas and started it. It started on the 5th pull. I plugged a toaster into it and that worked fine. I will see how the 30 amp part of it works next week with my camper on the trout streams. 654210

Excellent product. Super easy to start and runs quietly. I’m not sure it’s as quiet as a Honda but, the point is I’m not sure. At $600 bucks cheaper that’s a pretty good deal. Had no issues starting in maintaining my Advent Air ACM 135 rooftop air conditioner. 643787

Review from a similar etrailer etrailer Generator Manual in Generators

I have right at 5 hours on it as of today. In the AM I'll fire it up for about ten minutes and then change oil to full synthetic. We have yet to hit the road with it however we've been "camping" here at the house to work out any bugs so that when we do travel we won't forget anything. We have a 2019 Jayco 212 QB that has a 13,500 K ac, microwave, plus the other standard RV stuff. The generator powers both the ac and the microwave simultaneously without issue. We were surprised at how quiet the unit is even when it powers up to handle the ac cycling on. Able to sleep without interruption. All in all a great unit at a great price. My neighbor has a Honda which won't handle his AC so I expect he'll be ordering one sooner or later. Almost forgot to mention the 30 amp RV outlet, what a plus that is. 636148
