Video Transcript for Review of Onan Cummins Generators - No Inverter - CM32ZR

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Cummins-Onan Quiet series, onboard RV generator, 4,000 watts of power running on gasoline. So folks, this is gonna be a direct replacement so you can install it right where your old ones sat, no adapters need it. It should go right into place. Double check the dimensions on the screen and the weight and everything, and the 4,000 watts. Make sure you're matching it up with something of like size or bigger if you so choose.

Now, if you don't wanna mess with this, installing it yourself, you can go to our website etrailer.com, check out our dealer locator tool on the homepage and we can help assist you finding someone in your area that can install it for you as well. Now this is gonna be a great, it's gonna be extra quiet operation. It does have nice soundproofing and enclosed muffler in the unit. So come around to the front here. I wanna go ahead and show you how to open the access panel.

Very simple, you just twist these two black knobs up, you're gonna pull down and out. Some customers in the past have said, "Hey, why aren't these lockable" No need to lock this because your access panel on your RV, motor home, whatever trailer should already have locks to it, so it's that simple. Now with this off, you can see the sound dampening insulation I was talking about, pretty thick and that's what what's gonna help in tune with the muffler, keep everything quiet. So now you have access to do your basic maintenance stuff. You got your main switches, you got the oil fill here, all those kind of things.

And your wires are actually gonna route out through this access hole here on the side as well. I'm gonna go ahead and pull these back through in a second, but I wanna point out, this is gonna be your main harness for hooking up. The main one that hooks up to a harness that should match up inside the RV or camper trailer. And that's gonna be, so you can remote start it with the push of a button inside that unit. Then, of course, you got your main wires there.

Gonna go for rounding, the power and everything. I'm gonna go ahead and pop this back in real quick and on take this. I went ahead and took off some bolts so I could take off the whole unit here so I can show you inside a lot better, so bear with me here. I'm gonna go ahead and set this to the side real quick. Excuse me, now we got a better look at the unit itself, with everything off. Now you can see the motor and everything. You can see that muffler I was mentioning, that's a USDA Spark arrester muffler, and that means it's safe for National Forest and campgrounds. You're not gonna have to worry about modding it and all those things to be able to go into those campgrounds. You're already compliant. Now the base of this has a like an anti-rattle basic build. So it's going to contain all the rattles and jolts and noises and everything and that's gonna also keep the unit quiet as well. And you can see you've got access to your air box, those kind of things as well on this side. Sound level, it's gonna meet those National Park Service requirements of a max of 60 decibels at 50 feet. And back on this side over here, this is gonna be your main fuel line hookups, and again, it runs on gasoline. And then as far as maintenance and everything, there's no need to be a mechanic. You're just gonna need some basic tools and a few minutes and you should be able to do the maintenance on here yourself and just help this last few years and years or come. The one thing I can't show you is underneath this, there's a drain plug. I'll go ahead and throw an image on the screen there for you. So as you can see, that's the drain plug. You're gonna, according to the instructions, that's where you'll have to, you know, get the oil out whenever you're doing the maintenance and those kind of things. Now this also has built-in diagnostic capability so you don't have to worry about it overloading low oil, those kind of things, it's gonna automatically shut itself down in the event of those things coming up. Well, folks, I think that is gonna wrap it up for our look together. Again, I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
