Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

These is an excellent hitch at an excellent price. The install was easy and all the hardware that is needed is in the box. I chose the Drawtite over the Curt because the receiver end is a little longer. It' not even noticeable on the truck. I have a snow plow that attaches to the hitch. The Toyota cap shown in the picture was not included. The Tundra is a 2020 so I can confirm if fits.

Comments
Hitch has been working as expected. After one year it still looks as good as when I installed it. They use alot of road salt where I live but the hitch has no rust on it.
Davie R - 12/24/2020

Installation wasn't very difficult. I was very happy to add a hitch to the front of my truck. I installed to be able to put a hitch mounted winch or bike rack. The pictures others have posted how it sits on the truck. I found that it sits to far back from the bumper for my needs. Everything I need to attach needs and extension to clear the bumper. I wouldn't repurchase and install if I knew. The hitch itself is manufactured well and works as expected for a bolt on application.

Comments
Thank you for reaching out! I wanted to recommend a hitch extender. I attached a link to our products and there are varying lengths to choose from depending on your needs.

We use this with an aluminum rack to haul a Honda 150cc scooter when we go camping. The only negative is how low it is -- ended up buying a 2" riser/extension which made it much more functional. Not really the fault of the hitch, just the reality of the mounting points. If you end up needing a riser make sure you get one with the proper weight rating as some are just made for lightweight bicycle racks.

2021 ToyotaTundra

Exactly what I needed for my fishing rod rack

by:

I added the etrailed motorcycle carrier and now I carry my 250cc motorcycle with this set up and it works just fine.

Comments
Great. It is exactly what I wanted for my 08 Tundra. Easy to install, even for an old man.
Dennis - 03/20/2022

by:

The product, the packaging and delivery, the instructions were all near perfect. You must torque the bolts, so make sure you have the tool. This hutch really saved us getting our trailer into/out of the narrow side yard. On my Tundra it means some the skid plate bolts are now hidden, so I made a door in it to allow oil filter access.

We have a truck camper, and needed more room for our camping equipment. Purchased this front hitch from etrailer, and it has been awesome. Have used it to carry our generator, and bought a cargo tray that we use also. Love it! Thanks!

by:

Yes , my 2019 tundra is beach ready and the fishing rods are not broken.... with the front hitch and rod cooler on the front the 4x4 on the beach is that much easier. Yes 3 friends are looking at doing the same setup. I added a flag to remind me there is 3 extra feet in front of the truck when the rods are not in the holders.

2023 ToyotaTundra

Did not fit my my year of tundra. Website and sales person stated it did. Will have to return.

Comments
What model year is your Tundra? The hitch is designed as a fit for 2007-2021 model year Tundras.
-- Etrailer Expert Mike L - 09/21/2022

by:

I use it all year in winter months my bear plow is in it and summer season I use it for a bike rack and extra cargo carrier.

by:
2021 ToyotaTundra

Easy install on a 2021 Tundra and seems like it will do the job. The bolts were long enough to accomodate an aftermarket skid plate. But the crooked and haphazardly affixed etrailer sticker was an immediate no. The Tundra receiver plug in the photo was not included.

Comments
I apologize for the sticker placement. I believe the Tundra hitch cover you are referring to is on a customers photo of their install. This is not included in the hitch receiver purchase.
-- Etrailer Expert Sierra K - 11/09/2021

by:

Hitch worked perfect and thanks for the instructions . My only regret is that I didn't think about drilling a hole in the skid plate myself for changing the oil filter ha! Again thanks hitch work perfect and looks good !

by:

It does exactly what I need it to do. Great addition to my 2011 Tundra

by:

Excelent Equietment

by:
ToyotaTundra

Works just as I had hoped. Easy to install, looks good on vehicle. I use it mainly to hold a rod and cooler rack on my Tundra. The bolt and bracket keeps
it from rattling. High quality, good price.

by:

Arrived on time. Front hitch fits perfectly. Should serve its purpose just fine.

by:
2019 ToyotaTundra

Order came in on time, nicely packaged but could have been packaged tighter to prevent it from moving inside the box and parts showing outside the box.

by:
2016 ToyotaTundra

Well built product, all hardware included, perfect fit, flawless transaction

by:

Well made and fits perfectly.

by:

bolted right up and I was able to install it by myself. I trimmed the plastic chin guard to fit and it looks good on the truck.

by:

I was sent an item that has scratches and chips in the paint which need to be addressed to avoid rust as some already are showing rust signs. Even the darn stickers were applied with no thought as they are really crooked. Product also real dusty for something allegedly made in 5/21. If this were purchased from a brick and mortar store I would have returned it immediately. As it stands I have no time to deal with internet returns.

2018 ToyotaTundra

I'm unable to give a review because It's not on my truck yet!

by:

The hitch is of very good quality and was easy to install, all necessary hardware was included.
The only negative thing I have to say is about the installation diagram. Where it shows to cut a hole in the skid plate for oil filter removal is in the wrong place . It is not towards the center of the skidplate but to the right of where the instruction show it

Comments
This hitch has been very good I use it for several different thing from parking the RV in tight places to hauling coolers to and from the deer lease

Hitch was delivered to my house in excellent condition. Box was not damaged at all. The hitch fits perfectly on the front of my Toyota Tundra and is well built. Will work great for all the accessories you want to hook up to it.

The Draw-Tite front mount hitch # 65080 is listed as fitting all styles of the 2008 Toyota Tundra. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. The hitch has a 500 pound vertical load capacity but you need to determine the capacity of the front axle to know if you can add a carrier and bike to the the front of the truck. Front mount hitches are made more for winching applications where there is not as much vertical load.

The installation instructions are attached, and the very first step is to remove the hooks, but, keep them to reinstall later. Just a side note is that if your Tundra has a front skid shield it will need to be removed so you will have access to your engine oil filter.

In order to install a front mount trailer hitch on a 2007 Toyota Tundra like the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65080 which is what I recommend you'll need to remove any existing bush guard or bull bar.
