Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2019 Toyota Tundra

These is an excellent hitch at an excellent price. The install was easy and all the hardware that is needed is in the box. I chose the Drawtite over the Curt because the receiver end is a little longer. It' not even noticeable on the truck. I have a snow plow that attaches to the hitch. The Toyota cap shown in the picture was not included. The Tundra is a 2020 so I can confirm if fits. 734077

We have a truck camper, and needed more room for our camping equipment. Purchased this front hitch from etrailer, and it has been awesome. Have used it to carry our generator, and bought a cargo tray that we use also. Love it! Thanks! 716153

My hitch came in on time, the box was in good shape and easy to install. I used a floor jack to hold it in place. One tip I have I did not remove the skid plate to cut the 4'' access hole. If you are careful you can do this with the skid plate bolted on the truck and save time. Good luck. 615378

The hitch is of very good quality and was easy to install, all necessary hardware was included. The only negative thing I have to say is about the installation diagram. Where it shows to cut a hole in the skid plate for oil filter removal is in the wrong place . It is not towards the center of the skidplate but to the right of where the instruction show it 808050

Had it now for a year and still love it. Easy install on my 2017 Tundra. I use it for my fire wood carrier on the front while towing my camper. Works great and looks like factory install. 745717

Works as intended. Finish has held up well. Installation instructions were very well written with additional suggestions. Many people might prefer that it stuck out in front of the truck a little father, I howerever, do not. I don’t use it very frequently so I like that it sits back. I just add a receiver extension and it it works perfect for me. 738027

2012 Toyota Tundra

For my 2012 Toyoda Tundra, the installation is very simple and straight forward. Remove the 4 bolts holding the 2 front tow hooks in place. Position the new front hitch between the tow hooks and the frame, then install the 4 new bolts. The hitch is now directly bolted to the truck frame and the tow hooks are still usable. 705915

Ask the Experts about this Draw-Tite Front Receiver Hitch

  • Comparing Front Mounted Hitch Receiver for 2008 Toyota Tundra
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65080 is my recommendation for you based on cost and features. The installation of this hitch is nearly identical to the Curt # 31198. The Draw-Tite has a measurement of 7-1/2 inches from the crossbar to the end of the receiver tube. The Curt receiver has a measurement of 4-5/8 inches from the crossbar to the end of the receiver tube. The weight ratings of the hitches are identical, so the 2-7/8 inch difference in...

  • Comparing Curt and Draw-tite Front Hitch for 2019 Toyota Tundra
The biggest difference between the Curt front hitch part # 31198 and Draw-tite front hitch part # 65080 is that the Draw-tite receiver tube extends out more than the Curt by over an inch. This makes it more visible when nothing is mounted to it. However, it can also help with clearance. When putting an accessory in the hitch there is less of a chance of it coming in contact with the front of your Tundra. Other than that, they aren't much different from each other. They have the same...

  • Does Skid Shield have to be Removed for a Front Hitch on a 2018 Toyota Tundra
On the Curt front mount receiver # 31198 there is a note stating that the skid shield will either have to be removed or you can trim it and reinstall in on your 2018 Toyota Tundra. For the Draw-Tite receiver # 65080 we have a note stating that the skid shield must be removed but nothing about being able to reinstall it. Some customers have noted that they had to make or enlarge a hole on a bottom panel in order to be able to change the oil. You may also consider using the Bike Bunk,...

  • Can Bike Rack be Used on Front Mount Hitch of 2019 Toyota Tundra
You can use a bike rack in the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch # 65080 although this is a 2" hitch so you would not be able to use a bike rack with 1-1/4" shank; you would need a bike rack for a 2" hitch like the Thule T2 Classic # TH9044 or Yakima HoldUp # Y02443. It is possible that using any bike rack will interfere with sensors that are located on the front grille of your '19 Tundra. We have not tested this specifically but it would make sense this would be the case.

  • Will Front Mount Trailer Hitch # 65080 Fit a 2008 Toyota Tundra TRD with Off Road Package
The Draw-Tite front mount hitch # 65080 is listed as fitting all styles of the 2008 Toyota Tundra. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. The hitch has a 500 pound vertical load capacity but you need to determine the capacity of the front axle to know if you can add a carrier and bike to the the front of the truck. Front mount hitches are made more for winching applications where there is not as much vertical load.

  • Do I Lose The Tow Hooks When Installing Draw Tite Front Mount Hitch # 65080 on a 2012 Toyota Tundra
Good news! You will not have to sacrifice your tow hooks on your 2012 Toyota Tundra when installing the Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch # 65080. The installation instructions are attached, and the very first step is to remove the hooks, but, keep them to reinstall later. Just a side note is that if your Tundra has a front skid shield it will need to be removed so you will have access to your engine oil filter.

  • Will Front Mounted Receiver Hitch on 2013 Toyota Tundra Need to Be Removed to Change Oil
Neither the Draw-Tite # 65080 nor the Curt # 31198 would in themselves prevent you from changing the oil in your truck. What they will do is prevent you from removing the skid shield, which will block access to the oil filter. You can remove the skid shield entirely and leave it off permanently, or you can cut a 4-5 inch diameter access hole through the skid shield in the area directly under the oil filter. Because the hitch attachment hardware is meant as a one-time use item, we don't...

  • Can The Front Mount Trailer Hitch for 2010 Toyota Tundra be Used and Retain the Factory Tow Loops
Yes, when installing the Draw-Tite Front Hitch, # 65080, on the 2010 Toyota Tundra you will reinstall the front tow loops after raising the hitch into position. This will sandwich the hitch between the tow loops and the vehicle frame. I have linked the installation instructions for you to review. Basically, you will run the fishwire through the hole that you will be using with the spring-looking end going in first. Pull it out through another access hole. Slide the block spacer on first. • Recommended Front Mount Hitch for 2015 Toyota Tundra
The two front mount hitches available that are confirmed to fit your 2015 Toyota Tundra, the Draw-Tite # 65080 and the Curt # 31198, are extremely similar to each other and differ only in their slight design variation. Both hitches will provide a 2 inch receiver opening with a 500 vertical load maximum and 9,000 pound line pull capacity. The only real difference between the two models is that the Draw-Tite # 65080 has a receiver tube that protrudes a bit further forward than the Curt....
