Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

This is a wonderful product and has made trailer positioning a snap. I can now maneuver my boat / utility trailer up a very narrow drive without going into the yard. The only downside was the unit did not come with all the hardware to install. etrailer sent me the missing hardware very quickly. Be prepared to make cuts to the air dam if so equipped. A torque wrench is required to install along with socket and open end wrenches. 640513

2014 Toyota Tacoma

This gets only 4 stars because of missing hardware, an issue mentioned elsewhere, and instructions that are incomplete. The hitch fit into my 2014 perfectly but the instructions fall short. Without reference to the video, installation is confusing. Since the hardware requirements are not complicated its shabby to leave out most of the required nuts, necessitating a trip the hardware store in the middle of our work. Shipping was prompt and i am sure the hitch will work well. Quality control on the parts would be appreciated. 894187

The front hitch is so handy I buy one and install it every time I get a new truck. I use it to haul my RV generator or a front basket with my handi-cap mini scooter and also backing up a boat or utility trailer on or around my yard. 884713

Thanks to Justin B for helpful information and to the entire operation for a good product at a fair price. Free shipping is a deal maker, as well. I mounted a front hitch on my Tacoma - I use it when launching ramps are muddy or slippery with weed - I can have my drive wheels on dry ground when retrieving my boat trailer. I have been able to be helpful to other people as well. 858921

I use it to put my traveler trailer in the storage space. There are other units on each side so its easier to get in the space without a lot of help 829132

Great customer service in shipping after I ordered the front hitch. Installation was easy, and I’m very happy with the look and functionality of the hitch. As with other reviewers, I had to make a trip to the hardware store for 1/2” nuts and lockwashers. It’s a shame you don’t have someone who can count to 8. . . . Overall, very happy, and would do business with again! 799304

If I’d known what an incredible product that I ordered I would have purchased the lesser model! The front hitch for a Tacoma fit so nicely it was a fun project. And heavy duty is a wild understatement. Received order (heavy package) 48 hours after my phone call to place it. Thank you Amy Stay safe... 792590

Just arrived today and couldn’t wait to install it on my 2007 Tacoma. Within the hour of the UPS man handing me the box I was grabbing tools and loosening the nuts on the skid plate shroud (4 12mm bolts) and the “strap box” thing held on by a 17mm bolt and I’m ready to install. The two mounting plates went on easily, next the middle hitch and the lower bolts that secure to where the “strap box” once was and That was it!! Any knuckle dragger could install this hitch with ease. I bought this hitch so I could haul my motorcycle in front while pulling my trailer. Love it!! 704598

The hitch is nice and looks good. For you "Real Off roaders" look at one of the $500 versions that put it above the bumper. It dose affect your approach angle. but I wanted it to mount a cooler on the front when towing our camper. Going to work out fine. Like many others have said it was missing hardware. 10 bolts and 4 lock washers to be exact. The bag was intact with no rips. Guess it's my own fault but I didn't realize it till I was most of the way done with installation. Called and they got new parts on the way but said that it would be 5 to 7 days. One trip to Lowe's and got it installed 30 minutes later. $3.50 to get it installed that day was worth it. Fast delivery to. And they were on it to make sure all was good. Thank you just hire some one who can count to put hardware together. Lol 690814

If you have a tight spot to get your trailer into, look no further. I have a small 13 foot camper and a very small space on a subdivided lot to stash it. This front hitch makes fine adjustments a lot easier on the way to its spot than backing it in, and very well may have saved my marriage. It's bolt on, and pretty low profile. Installation didn't require a lift. I actually like the way it looks under my Toyota Tacoma bumper. Ground clearance hasn't been affected. 661124

Its a very well built hitch. Easy to install it took me 45 minutes and I’m no professional. Only reason I’m not going to give it to 5 stars is the included hardware was not all there. Not a big deal a quick trip to the hardware store and a couple extra bucks. 639471

2010 Toyota Tacoma

I purchased the front mount receiver hitch in order to use an equipment carrier on the front of my 2010 Toyota Tacoma. I needed to keep access to the bed of my truck for unloading materials into my top dresser. This hitch is perfect! It is plenty strong to handle the job says 900 lb tongue weight, but I only need about 400 lb with carrier and equipment. While the install looked pretty easy, I did have a local mechanic do it for me since he had a lift which makes it much easier. Even never having installed a front hitch before, it only took the mechanic no more than 1 hour to install after watching the wonderful 6 minute install video. The price was great and quality of the product including all install information was great! Only drawback was that, as many others have stated, not all of the hardware was included. I was missing about 8 lock washers, 6 nuts, and 2 of the notched flat washers were too small a diameter. Local hardware store had everything I need and it only cost an extra $6. Overall, great product and value! Highly recommend this 5-star rated product! Thanks, etrailer.com! 636035

2010 Toyota Tacoma

Ordered the front hitch for my 2008 Tacoma on Saturday and received it on the following Wednesday (great service). Followed the install video displayed on etrailer web page which was very good. Only used the written instructions for the torque value and to verify the hardware count. That was the only issue, it was missing 10 nuts and 6 lock washers. Spent an extra six bucks getting nuts and washers. 613161

etrailer was great - fast delivery and excellent service. Now for the product. Installation instructions are poor and the tool list is incorrect. Nevertheless, the installation is straight forward and you really do not need the instructions. The manufacturer shorted me several bolts, nuts, and washers. Had to make a trip to the hardware store to install. Fortunately, bolt size was common. Not what I expected from Draw-Tite. 574042

With in 2 hours of delivery by UPS the hitch was installed. That included running down to my local hardware to get 10 nuts and lock washers not included. It bolted up to my 2008 Toyota Tacoma just perfectly. I would recommended it. The hitch worked great the next day parking my RV in the very narrow side yard. 506080

Ask the Experts about this Draw-Tite Front Receiver Hitch

  • Will the Draw-Tite Front Hitch for a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Work With Aftermarket Front Bumper
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65070 is designed to be used with the factory front bumper. It may still work with an aftermarket front bumper but there would be no way for us to confirm this as there are several different aftermarket front bumpers for your 2013 Toyota Tacoma. That said, if you take a look at the attached photo and install instructions, that should then give you a good idea whether or not it will work but testing this yourself would be the only way...

  • Will Draw-Tite Front Mounted Hitch for 2017 Toyota Tacoma Allow Truck to Push Camper to Parking Spot
Yes, the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65070 that fits your 2017 Toyota Tacoma will definitely allow you to push your camper into the tight parking spot, and you won't have any issues doing this on a flat concrete surface. We have not had a chance to install this particular item nor the Curt equivalent # 31313 on your same truck so for purposes of seeing the effect on your ground clearance I refer you to the linked photo sent to us by a customer that installed this hitch. Both the Curt Front Hitch # 31313 and the Draw-Tite Front Hitch # 65070 are confirmed to fit your 2014 Tacoma 4x4 but I definitely recommend the Draw-Tite for its higher 500-lb vertical load weight rating and because it allows re-installation of the skid shield which is not possible with the Curt. If you're intending to use a hitch-mount snow plow like the Detail K2 Avalanche # K2AVAL8219 or a hitch cargo carrier like # 63153 or any other potentially heavy item you might want to consider...

  • Front Hitch and Bike Rack for 2007 Toyota Tacoma Towing Camper
I have a different solution that I think may be just what you need. What I would recommend is a front hitch like the part # 65070 which is confirmed as a fit for your 2007 Toyota Tacoma so that you can install a hitch out front and not mess with the interference and capacity issues out back.
