Video Transcript for Install: Aries Automotive Seat Defender Cargo Area Protector on a 2019 Cadillac XT5

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Aries Automotive Seat Defender Cargo Area Protector on our 2019 Cadillac, XT5. Our protector is 60 inches by 60 inches. So it's not a custom fit but it's nice to just have something that goes in. That's gonna be waterproof. So the top is gonna be polyester. And then the bottom is gonna be made of a rubber material which is gonna keep it from kind of sliding around.

So that's kind of nice. It's gonna kind of stay put but this isn't something just for your vehicle. Yes. You can have it in here. Maybe you have all your beach stuff in here.

It's a little sandy so you can go and take all your stuff out, take this. And then this can be used to maybe watch your kids, play a soccer game. If you wanna have a picnic, if you're on the beach you can use this as well. So it really is universal. You can put it in your car if you want but there's a lot of other things you can do with it as well, especially muddy kids.

I was always the kid that got super dirty all over the place and my parents weren't too happy about it. So if you want to allow your kids to be kids but be able to protect your vehicle, this is gonna be a great way to do that. If I we're to compare it to anything else the etrailer Cargo Area Protector is gonna be a little bit better of a fit. So for like the pet hair and stuff, a lot of the times when I have my dog in the back of the vehicle, she likes to try to be in the front. So she's constantly rubbing up against this.

So with the etrailer one it's gonna be a little bit more protective against the back. Just hangs on the back and it's still gonna give us the same coverage. It's not as wide. It's about 48 inches wide compared to the 60 inch wide that the area gives us but it is a little bit longer, 71 inches long. So we can have this kind of like this done deal. The only difference between the two, the top is gonna be the same. This is a three-piece design. So we can take some things off when we want to but then the bottom isn't gonna be the same material as the areas. I don't think one is better than the other but this can also be used as something for like a picnic or anything like that as well. But you see how it kind of drapes over the side. So this isn't gonna scratch up either. And also it just covers that back bumper. If those kids or the dogs get in, you don't have to worry about it damaging your vehicle. But this one does go on the seats in the back on our second row as well, which the areas will but it's not gonna hang like this one does. So the only other thing that the areas has over the etrailer is just the fact that it is machine washable. The etrailer one, you just wanna hand wash it or hose it off. But those are your options. And I think both of 'em are gonna have a specific purpose for whatever you may be doing. But I think both are great options. Notice how the cover comes over our rear bumper. We don't have to worry about it scratching up. The thermoplastic rubber on the back is gonna prevent against any scratches, which is nice. And this is machine washable. So if you do get it really dirty, wherever you may be you can throw it in the washer and it's ready to go. Or you can just take a moist cloth to wipe it on down. It's something that's kind of useful for picnics, camping all sorts of stuff. You can put it in your RV if you really wanted to. There's a lot of different reasons you could use this but it does work well with our Cadillac XT5.
