Video Transcript for Fit Check: WeatherTech 3rd Row Rear Auto Floor Mat on a 2014 Ford Explorer

Randy: Hi. Randy at etrailer. Today on our 2014 Ford Explorer, we're going to be taking a look at the WeatherTech Third Row Auto Floor liner. These are in black, part number WT443593. They're also available in tan, part number WT453593, and in gray, part number WT463593. To begin our test fit today, we'll need to roll our seats out of the way here. We'll do that by pulling up on the gray lever.

That's going to expose the floor area here that we're going to be covering up with our new auto floor liners. With the driver side seat folded there, we'll come around to the passenger side. With our seats folded up out of the way, typically we'd remove the factory floor mat. This one didn't have one in it. Just keep that in mind when you're installing it in your vehicle.

Remove your factory floor mat to give you the perfect fit. With our new liner, we're going to bring it in. As you can see, it's got a really nice custom fit. It's going to allow you to know exactly where to place it. We'll just push down firmly around the edge to be sure we have it in the proper spot. As you can see, the custom molded design of this mat is made to fit perfectly in your vehicle and also to give you full coverage. These mats extend well up underneath what would be our second row seats here.

They also have all your connection points for your seats that are exposed. That way you have good use of your vehicle. As you can see, you have a raised edge around the entire perimeter of the mat. That helps to keep your spills and stuff contained in the floor. It also has these specifically designed patterns in the floor.

These help to channel dirt, debris, and water away from your feet over where they can be easily cleaned up. The WeatherTech mats are designed with a solid, rigid, plastic core and then they apply a rubberize texture to go over the top. This gives you great grip in getting in and out, even in wet conditions. It also helps with great durability. The same rubber coating is added to the bottom of the mat and that helps to grip the floor. That way it's not going to slip and slide around on you. As you can see, this is a one piece liner, so it's designed to give you superior coverage even over the center hump area. With the rubber coated material, they're very easy, as far as maintenance goes. When they get dirty, they get debris, you can simply take a wet towel and wipe them down or completely remove them and hose them off. The black finish, or the black color is going to compliment many interiors and these mats are completely made in the United States. We're going to go ahead and fold our seats back down to see how the mats work with them. As we do this, they go well up under the seat. They give you great coverage. We'll drop the driver's side of our seats down, and just like that, we've got our mat installed.
