We highly recommend this fuse bypass switch if you need to deactivate a fuse when you flat tow. It's a huge pain to pull the fuse by hand every time, and you risk losing or damaging it. With this kit, you just have to flip a switch.

Note: Consult your owner's manual to determine which fuse to pull.
Technically, it is optional, but if you need to pull a fuse on your vehicle when you flat tow, this kit will make your life so much easier. Instead of wedging yourself down on the floorboard and fishing a tiny fuse out from under your dashboard every time you flat tow (not to mention putting it back again), you can just flip a switch. No dead battery, no lost fuse, no damaged fuse, no back pain.
When the switch is in the drive position, the fuse will be active and your car will function normally. When you're ready to flat tow, you'll flip the switch to the tow setting and deactivate the fuse. This allows you to tow your vehicle without the battery draining.
Installing this fuse bypass switch really only takes a few steps:
1. Open the fuse access panel and remove the designated fuse
2. Connect the end of the wiring harness to the fuse socket
3. Mount the switch in your dashboard
4. Insert the pulled fuse into the fuse holder

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this cut fuse bypass switch. This is gonna be used in situations where you're wanting to flat tow your vehicle behind your RV or motor home so that you have a runaround vehicle once you get to your campsite. But your vehicle is going to require a fuse to be pulled in order to flat tow it. So it's not going to be for every vehicle out there but there are some vehicles that require you to have it in the arm position so that your steering wheel doesn't lock up. And if you leave it in the arm position the whole time you're towing, you're likely gonna have a dead battery by the time you get to your destination.
So some vehicles do require you to pull a fuse. That's where this is going to make it a whole lot easier for you. Basically what this does is you'll pull the fuse the one time and then you'll put it in these sockets here. These receptacles will accept that fuse and then allow you to plug into where the fuse normally would be. And that way, when you're driving around town like normal, everything's working perfectly but then you have the option to flip that switch.
And that is going to break that connection as if you had removed the fuse so that your vehicle's battery won't die as you're towing that. So instead of having to go in and manually pull that fuse every time, you've got that little switch there. It's going to make it very convenient for you to just switch on and off. So after you're done towing, you're ready to go drive around, flip it into arm position and you're ready to go. You don't have to keep track of where the fuse is and that sort of thing.
This is going to provide two receptacles for your mini fuses up to 20 amp ratings. So very easy to just switch those out and put those in. You will need to refer to your vehicle owner's manual to know which fuse you need to pull for your vehicle. But once you get those put in place, it's going to be very simple to just flip that switch. Now, this does have the option of allowing you to flush mount the switch.
So somewhere near your fuse compartment you've got a place where you can drill a big enough hole for that to mount in place. And then that backing nut will tighten down. So that that's right there available for you. The one thing I will say about that is you will probably have to remove these connectors in order to get that hooked up if you're wanting to use that flush mount kind of style there. But overall, a really convenient way of allowing your vehicle to be flat towed without having to go in and manually pull those fuses every time. So that's going to complete our work for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

We highly recommend this fuse bypass switch if you need to deactivate a fuse when you flat tow. It's a huge pain to pull the fuse by hand every time, and you risk losing or damaging it. With this kit, you just have to flip a switch. These are a good alternative to the Roadmaster bypass switches and also cost less. I ended up pulling the wiring out of the plastic conduit. The area where this is used doesn't need it and doing that made it much easier to work with. I made my own labels for Drive and Tow positions. Two of these were worked great at bypassing the four fuses that had to be pulled for flat towing a 2019 Chevrolet Sonic. I used some of my wife's fingernail polish to indicate the drive position, "still need to touch that up a bit". See photo.
For a normal mini ATO plug in fuse block this would be great! My 2012 Honda CRV uses mini ATO fuses where the contact is made on the side of the fuse as it slides in. The two separate blade connectors at the end of the switch wiring are VERY HARD to get to stay in the fuse block! I made a small plastic wedge to slide between the blade connectors to force them to stay in position. The quality of the switch is great and installation is easy but if you're trying to put it in a 2012 Honda CRV (and maybe other Honda's with this style fuse block) be aware of this issue.!!
While attempting to install it was impossible to plug in and get it to stay in place. The spade end broke before I was able to get it properly installed. Had to Jerry-rig it to get this inferior product to work. Not worth the time or money.
Good product and great service
