Specs:
This heavy-duty stainless steel holder is designed to withstand the pressure of big game fishing with up to a 130-lb class rod. Part of CE Smith's 80 Series line of extra-large, 10-1/2" long rod holders, this model features an oversized flange and a rounded cast bottom with a built-in, threaded drain for attaching a hose to route water into the bilge. The 30-degree angle helps you create a wide trolling spread by positioning your rod tip further from the boat. 30-Degree rod holders are more commonly used than 15- or 20-degree holders or straight holders.
Using a rod holder over a dry storage area is no longer an issue. This holder has a threaded 1/2" diameter drain built into the bottom. Attach a 1/2" threaded hose barb with a drain hose (not included) to route water into the bilge so the rest of your boat stays dry. The large diameter of the drain helps minimize clogging, which is frequently seen with rod holders that have smaller 1/4" drains.
A smooth, rounded cast bottom is safe for mounting in open gunwales because there are no sharp edges to scrape your shins or to snag your gear.
There's a 1/4" wide x 1/2" tall gimbal bar positioned above the drain that can withstand the harsh conditions that heavy tackle or downrigger mounts can unleash - unlike standard gimbal pins that can get bent or knocked out of place. It's built into the holder and reinforced with welds, making it a virtually indestructible anchor that keeps your rod from spinning inside the holder. This tough gimbal bar also helps boost the overall strength and rigidity of the rod holder.
A protective, UV-resistant vinyl liner keeps your rod free of scratches and scuffs. The liner is notched to fit around the gimbal bar so that it stays in place and won't twist or spin.
Sturdy, Rustproof Stainless Steel Construction
This heavy-duty, 1.2-mm-thick rod holder is made with 316L stainless steel, which is highly resistant to corrosion and rust, even when exposed to saltwater. The exterior is polished to create a mirror-like shine that makes an attractive addition to any boat.
The 5-1/8" long x 4-1/4" wide flange is welded to the tube to create a strong connection, and it has a sleek, low-profile design that allows it to sit flush against the gunwale so it won't snag your line. For added strength, use a backing plate (CE53683A - sold separately) with this rod holder to reinforce the mounting area.
Installation requires that a 2-1/4" diameter hole be cut into your boat's gunwale to fit the holder. The holder will drop into this hole and then secure flush to your boat with (3) 1/4" bolts or screws (not included).

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we take a look at this heavy duty stainless steel 30-degree flush-mount fishing rod holder with the large bottom drain. Now this is a heavy duty 30-degree flush-mounted rod holder. This will hold up to one 130-pound class fishing pole. And this will let you fish hands-free and have multiple lines in the water. The very bottom, you can see it as a grounded cast bottom, and that'll provide added safety when mounted in open gunwales 'cause there's no sharp edges to scrape your shins or damage your gear.
Now the holder we mentioned does mount into your boat's gunwale. It will require a two-and-a-quarter inch diameter hole to be cut into the gunwale and it does attach into place. You can see up on the mounting flange here. It has the three holes and it's recommended to use three-quarter inch bolts or screws to install this. Now the hardware to install it is not included.
You would have to supply that. We mentioned this does have a 30-degree angle when it's installed. This will help create a nice wide trolling spread and it is the most common angle for fishing rod holders. The very bottom right down here has a 30-degree or a three-quarter inch threaded drain hole. And this will let you attach a hose to route the water into the bilge.
And they do that because this can be used for mounting the holder over dry storage areas. And what you can do is put a threaded hose barb in there, connect the hose to it, and then route the water away from the dry area. Now the hose barb and the hose to install that is not included. We do sell that separately. This is a heavy duty 316L stainless steel construction.
It is rust-proof and corrosion-resistant. Does have a nice polished mirror finish on the mounting flange, so that when this is installed, it gives a nice good look onto your boat. It is a wide low-profile flange, and that flange is welded to the tube for durability. A few dimensions on the mounting flange, the length on it is gonna be right at five-and-one-eighth inches long. The width on it is gonna be right at four-and-a-quarter inches wide. Now at the very bottom of this, you might be able to see if I turn this, there is a bar that goes across, you can see there. And that's on the inside. That's a tall built-in gimbal bar in the bottom. And that'll help keep your rod from spinning in the holder. And it also uses a vinyl liner on the inside to protect your rod from any scratches or scuffs. A few specs on this, if we measure the length or height of it. On the short side is about nine-and-a-quarter inches. And on the higher, taller side is about 11-and-three-quarter inches. The tube inside diameter. It's coming right at one-and-seven-eighth inches. And we mentioned the two outer diameter is two-and-a-quarter inches. But that should do it for the review on this heavy duty, stainless steel, 30-degree flush-mounting fishing rod holder with the large bottom drain..
