Specs:
This hefty stainless steel holder will keep your rod steady whether you're doing some serious trolling or enjoying a recreational day on the water. Part of CE Smith's 70 Series line of 9" long rod holders, this model features a rounded cast bottom with a built-in, threaded drain for attaching a hose to route water into the bilge. The 30-degree angle helps you create a wide trolling spread by positioning your rod tip further from the boat. 30-Degree rod holders are more commonly used than 15- or 20-degree holders or straight holders.
Using a rod holder over a dry storage area is no longer an issue. This holder has a threaded 1/2" diameter drain built into the bottom. Attach a 1/2" threaded hose barb with a drain hose (not included) to route water into the bilge so the rest of your boat stays dry. The large diameter of the drain helps minimize clogging, which is frequently seen with rod holders that have smaller 1/4" drains.
A smooth, rounded cast bottom is safe for mounting in open gunwales because there are no sharp edges to scrape your shins or to snag your gear.
There's a 1/4" wide x 1/2" tall gimbal bar positioned above the drain that can withstand the harsh conditions that heavy tackle or downrigger mounts can unleash - unlike standard gimbal pins that can get bent or knocked out of place. It's built into the holder and reinforced with welds, making it a virtually indestructible anchor that keeps your rod from spinning inside the holder. This tough gimbal bar also helps boost the overall strength and rigidity of the rod holder.
A protective, UV-resistant vinyl liner keeps your rod free of scratches and scuffs. The liner is notched to fit around the gimbal bar so that it stays in place and won't twist or spin.
Sturdy, Rustproof Stainless Steel Construction
This heavy-duty, 1.2-mm-thick rod holder is made with 316L stainless steel, which is highly resistant to corrosion and rust, even when exposed to saltwater. The exterior is polished to create a mirror-like shine that makes an attractive addition to any boat.
The 4-1/2" long x 3-5/8" wide flange is welded to the tube to create a strong connection, and it has a sleek, low-profile design that allows it to sit flush against the gunwale so it won't snag your line. For added strength, use a backing plate (CE53673A - sold separately) with this rod holder to reinforce the mounting area.
Installation requires that a 2" diameter hole be cut into your boat's gunwale to fit the holder. The holder will drop into this hole and then secure flush to your boat with (3) 1/4" bolts or screws (not included).

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this heavy-duty, stainless steel, 30-degree flush mount fishing rod holder. Now, this is a heavy-duty, 30-degree flush mounted rod holder, which will hold up to 180 pound class fishing pole, so this will let you fish hands free and have multiple lines in the water. You can see on this one has a rounded cast bottom on it, provides added safety when mounted in open gunwales, so there's no sharp edges on it to scrape your shins or your gear. The holder is designed to mount in your boat's gunwale. Does require a two inch diameter hole to be cut into that gunwale for this to fit into, and you can see up at the top on the flange, it attaches with three 1/4 inch bolts or screws.
Now, that hardware is not included, you would have to supply that. We mentioned you can see it has a 30-degree angle to it, helps create a wide trolling spread, and this is the most common angle used on fishing rod holders. Also, I wanted to mention, on the very bottom, if you look closely, there's a 3/4 inch threaded drain hole, and the reason they do that, this will let you attach a hose to route the water into a bilge. So this is used if you're mounting this holder over dry storage areas, you could put a threaded hose barb in there and then attach a hose to it to route the water out away from the dry area. Now, the hose barb and hose is not included, we do sell that separately.
This is a heavy-duty 316L stainless steel construction, it is rustproof, corrosion resistant. You can see the flange, mounting flange at the top, has a nice polished mirror finish to it, so when it is installed, looks very good on your boat. And it is a wide, low-profile flange, it's welded to the tube for durability. Few dimensions on that flange, you can see is gonna be right at about 3 5/8 inches by about 4 1/2 inches. Now, at the very bottom, you might be able to see if I turn it at a good angle, but at the very bottom, they do have a gimbal bar in there, and that's designed to help keep your rod from spinning when you insert it in there.
Also, has a vinyl lining on the inside to protect your rod from these scratches or scuffs. Few measurements on this, the length of this tube on the short side, is gonna be right at eight inches, on the long side is gonna be right about nine inches. The inner diameter where the liner is is 1 5/8 inches, and we mentioned the overall tube diameter is two inches. But that should do it for the review on this heavy-duty, stainless steel, 30-degree flush mount fishing rod holder..

I bought 4 (and the backing plates) to go in my skiff. They look good so far and I'm sure they will handle the Ono Mahi Aku and Ahi that I target here in Kona.
Excellent customer service shipped the same day. definitely will do business with them again.

Bought 2 of the 15 deg rod holders, haven’t installed yet but the quality seems to be very high. Will probably buy a couple the 30 deg as well. Also would like to say this is my first purchase from trailer, they came up in a google search, and wow they were the lowest price for these particular rod holders, also shipping was fast and free.
Thanks etrailer!!!!
I ordered 9 CE Smith rod holders from etrailer. 5 15 degree units for the transom wall, 2 0 degree units and 2 30 degree units for the side gunwale walls. If you are a saltwater fisherman, you know that the CE Smith rod holders are "the good stuff". But most places wanted $80 per rod holder! Keep in mind that a reasonable quality rod holder like amarine-made and other similar Chinese no name brands can be bought from other online retailers for $17 per unit. etrailer had the CE Smith version on sale at around fifth dollars per unit with no tax and free shipping. This is far from cheap but by going with etrailer I saved $180 and that was enough to push me toward the higher quality gear. After all, the rod holder bling is one of the first things that someone will see when they board a sportfishing yacht.
etrailer handled my order with good communication and follow up not only by email but by phone call as well. Pretty impressive in this day and age where you usually can't speak to a person about your order even if you call.
This is a great product for a good pric e!
Ordered two of these CE Smith rod holders from etrailer. High quality product on par or better than mate series. Etrailer's price was best price i could find and shipping to me was immediate. great product. very happy with etrailer and this purchase.
Outstanding service from E trailer, superior product from CE Smith. Highly recommended.
Great customer service , second time ordering from E-Trailer
Great product
As advertised. Solid.
Would benefit from a gasket rather just relying on caulk for deck sealing.
Thank you
