Reese Double Jaw

Secure, 2-Piece Jaw

Unlike the more economical slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

90 Degree Wiring Harness

Simple Wiring

The included 90-degree wiring harness makes attaching your trailer to your tow vehicle a snap. With a 9' lead that can easily reach your truck bed and a 90-degree angled head that fits into tight spaces, this uniquely designed wiring harness is perfect not only for your new fifth-wheel hitch, but for gooseneck hitches as well. Simply tee the harness into your vehicle's factory-installed 7-way trailer connector, which is mounted under the bumper of your truck. The 7-way connector on this harness then mounts in the wheel well, right next to your hitch, for quick, easy hookup.

The 5th wheel came in a cardboard box and it was in bad shape when I got it. Parts were coming out plus bolts and washers. I hope I have everything that I need to install it. Other than the packing and shipping it looks a quality product. 829229

- RP30033

I purchased the 22k 5th wheel hitch, because I purchased a 20k 5th wheel hitch about 25 years ago. The 20K hitch is still going strong. I have not install the 22k hitch, but it looks just like the 20k hitch. I am positive that the 22k hitch will perform flawlessly. 818636

After using it for a year, still works great with no problems. We tow a 44' toy hauler that is 20,000 lbs, so it does get a work out. We does it quite a bit as we camp every other weekend and also took an week long trip that was over a 1000 miles. 489495

This is my first 5th wheel hitch. It's solid, strong, and gets the job done. 339829

- RP30033

The reese 22k 5th wheel hitch was fairly easy to install with the direction provided. I had never install one before, and I put this one in my 2008 F-450. I pull a 42' Raptor toyhauler and it works great. Great product with a good fair market price. 268761

Ask the Experts about this Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch

  • American Made Fifth Wheel Hitch
We carry hitches that were made in America, though the Reese # RP30033 is not. I recommend checking out the Curt A25 # C16180, which is made in the USA, has a 25,000 lb capacity, offers full 360 degree king pin contact, and has an articulating head to make hooking up your trailer an easier process. It fits in standard above-bed base rails also features a handy 3-color indicator system which easily lets you know when you're ready to hook up, tow, or uncouple.

  • 5th Wheel Rail and Bracket Kit for a 2003 Ford F350 Super Duty Dually w/ 8 ft Bed
For a rail kit that is confirmed to fit your 2003 Ford F350 Super Duty you would want a Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # RP50082-58. This is a custom fit kit specifically for your vehicle that will minimize drilling and install in half the time when compared to a universal installation kit. This rail and bracket kit would well with the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30033 that you referenced also. Check out the installation instructions and review videos I attached.

  • Unknown 5th Wheel Installation Kit on a 2011 GMC Sierra 3500 Long Bed
It doesn't look like a Reese, B&W, or Curt bracket. It could be a Valley bracket. Given that the bracket is one piece it is likely a custom bracket. It does look similar to the Reese brackets in kit # RP50066-58. The hole spacing does sound like industry standard rails. I do not recommend mixing bracket and rail manufacturers because they are not tested together and you end up with an unknown capacity. Based on the side to side hole spacing it sounds like 4-bolt rails were originally...

  • How to Upgrade from a 16k Fifth Wheel Hitch to a 20k Hitch
Yes, as long as you have a set of industry standard rails in the bed of your truck (see pic for more info), all you would need to upgrade to a 20k plus would be to replace your current hitch with one like the Reese 20k Fifth Wheel Hitch part # RP30033 that you referenced. You will want to check the owners manual for your truck to be sure that your vehicle is capable of towing a trailer that weighs what you are planning to tow.

  • Does Truck with 6-1/2 ft bed Have to Use Slider Hitch for Turning Clearance with Fifth Wheel Hitch
You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two options. If you really want to use a stationary hitch like the part # RP30033 you can replace the pin box on your trailer with a Sidewinder and that will allow the clearance. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin...

A Sidewinder can be used with most non-moving hitches in your 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty. A Sidewinder is a great addition to any 5th wheel allowing you greater turning clearance by moving the pivot point back 22 inches. If you need a hitch to go with your Sidewinder, I recommend the Reese 22K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30033 which comes with the wiring harness. • How to Level 5th Wheel Trailer Towed by New Taller Pickup
Since your new truck is a few inches taller than your previous one you might be able to adjust the height of the 5th wheel hitch to compensate. For example, the Pro Series # PS30119 provides a 4-inch adjustment range, from 13-inches to 17-inches height. Another possible option is to check your pin box on the trailer to see if it can be repositioned on the trailer's mounting wings at a taller height; this too will allow the trailer to remain level when hitched. Your fifth wheel rails with the CMI stamped on them were manufactured by Curt, and will be compatible with Curt, Draw-Tite, Husky, Reese, Valley, and other brand hitches. They fit what are called industry standard hitches. For your 2008 Ford F-350, I recommend the Reese 22K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Wiring Harness # RP30033. • What is the Recommended Clearance from Top of Truck Bed to Trailer for a 5th Wheel Trailer
The recommended minimum distance between the top of the truck bed side rail and the underside of a fifth wheel trailer is 6 inches. This is usually enough clearance to allow for roll and pitch when driving on uneven roads, dips or hills, but there may be some towing setups that require more clearance. If you think your trailer may hit your truck bed with it's current setup, then I recommend either raising the height of your fifth wheel hitch or lowering the pin box position on the trailer....

The Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch, # RP30033, was designed to work with the industry standard 2 inch king pin that comes on fifth wheel trailers. As long as your fifth wheel trailer does not weigh more than 22,000 lbs, this fifth wheel hitch will work with your trailer. There are a few other factors that you will want to consider before purchasing a fifth wheel hitch. First, we recommend using a sliding fifth wheel hitch if your truck bed is shorter than 8 ft.
