Secure, 2-Piece Jaw

Q20 Two-Piece Jaw

Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

3-Point Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Q20 Color Indicator System

360-Degree Pivot

Curt's unique spherical axial bearing provides a durable pivot point that allows easy, 360-degree movement of the hitch head. This ball joint is designed for smooth, quiet operation with less clunking and chucking.

Non-Binding Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' and 6-1/2' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

The round-tube design of this slider allows for relatively uninhibited movement of your fifth-wheel hitch. Because your hitch can glide smoothly and easily along the rods, there is less chance of binding.

With straight, flat contact points, as found with square-tube sliders, tension can build between the slider and the hitch when your truck and trailer are somewhat out of line or are on uneven ground. As a result, it can be difficult to properly activate the slider when your truck and trailer are not in a straight line.

With a round-tube slider, there is more give between the contacting surfaces, allowing better mobility of the hitch system. Fewer corners means less tension buildup. Activating a round-tube slider is easier, and operation as a whole is smoother.

Video Transcript for Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider Installation - 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Ford F-350 Super-Duty, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Q-series line of fifth-wheel trailer hitches with slider for the Ford Tow and Prep Package. More and more, nowadays, we're seeing trucks that have shorter than eight-foot beds on them, which comes as a problem when we go to tow in a fifth-wheel. Because we want our hitch to be on the forward side of our rear axle, but that ends up putting our trailer extremely close to our cab. That's where our slider's going to help out. When it comes time to make those tight turns, we can come to this vertical handle here on the side. We'll pull it out, rotate it back, and that'll allow the hitch to slide back a full 12 inches, giving us that clearance to build on the turn. Than we'll have a lock into position, so we can make that turn without fear of hitting our truck.

Then, whenever we need to go in a straight line again and we're ready to tow, simply pull that handle out again, rotate it again, and our hitch will slide back and lock into the towing position. Our slider's going to have a weight capacity of 24,000 pounds. But keep in mind, you don't want to exceed the weight capacity of the head that you have. And it's always a good idea to double-check your truck's owner's manual, and never exceed the manufacturer's recommended weight. Now, because of the design of our slider, it's going to have that round tube, as well as some rollers, which are just going to make it slide very smoothly. And it's going to have a non-binding action to it, so no matter what position it's in, it's going to slide rather easily. Now, one thing Curt has done is they made it extremely easy to use our slider, and safe.

They put an indicator here, at the end of the handle, with the red stripe, towards the driver's side, to let us know that it's not locked in. But if we slide our slider back towards the tailgate, see the handle will lock into position, and also, over on the passenger side, we'll have a green indicator that is sticking out, letting us know that we're good to go, and that it is locked in. Now, this is going to be showing whether we're in the maneuvering position, or the towing position, so it's an easy indication to know what's going on.Now, you'll see on the bottom of our slider here, there is going to be a green sticker towards the cab. And that's going to be the towing position, because we want our hitch to be as close to the cab and locked in when we're towing. And if we move farther back, when it slides back, we're going to have another sticker that's going to say, "Maneuvering".

And that's more when we slide it back so we go around those tight turns. Our slider is designed to be used with the Ford factory prep tow package, which is going to make it extremely easy to get in place. We're going to have two levers on each side, held in by a simple pin and clip here. When you remove the pin, and we can rotate our handles out towards the side of our truck. And then I'll unlock those legs underneath, and then we'll be able to lift our slider out. And if we're putting our slider back in place, same thing.

We're just going to drop those feet down into the pucks, and we're going to rotate our levers inward. And then we'll secure them with the pin and clip to make sure they won't open back up.Now, the great thing about our slider is that when we're not towing, or if we don't plan on towing for quite awhile, we can pull that slider out, or put our plugs back in place, and we'll have full bed access. And then, as you can see, with the hitch removed, we'll have full-bed access. And then we just put the factory plugs back in, we don't have to worry about water or debris getting inside. As far as the setup and installation, it's going to be rather straightforward. It is rather heavy, so keep in mind, you might want to grab an extra set of hands to help you put it in place. Now, as far as the heads go, there's going to be two different variations that are going to be available. We're going to have the Q20, which is going to be a 20,000 pound gross trailer weight rating, and the Q24, which is going to have a 24,000 pound. Now, as you can see, see, they're going to look very similar. Just the funnel area in this top skid plate is going to be a little bit different. And the main difference is going to be their weight rating. But they're going to install exactly the same, and function exactly the same. Both of the hitches are going to have a dual-jaw design, which is going to cut down on a lot of that rattling and chucking, and make for more comfortable ride. It's going to accomplish that because it's going to have a full 360 degree contact with our kingpin, rather than the one-piece slide bar stile where that kingpin can move around, and there's not a full grip around it. The wide funnel on the skid plate is going to make it easier hooking it up, even if we're not directly behind our trailer.Whenever we are ready to hook up, we can have the handle over on the driver side. And we'll have a pin and clip that we can remove. And it's tethered, so we don't have to worry about losing it. We'll flip this lever up, and we pull our handle out, and once it's out, the jaws will open up, and then along the back side, just like our slider, it's going to be color coded. Except there's going to be a yellow indicator letting us know that we're ready to couple. For added security, we can replace this pin and clip with a padlock, which are sold separately.I have this piece here to simulate our trailer kingpin. When as soon as we start backing up, and this slides into place, it's going to lock in and make sure that that handle goes back into the towing position. And once it's fully locked in, you're going to rotate that latch back down, and reinsert the pin and clip, and we'll be ready to hit the road. Now, on both of the heads, they're going to be fully articulating, which means they're going to tilt left and right as well as front to back. And that's going to make it extremely easy to hook up on unlevel terrain, and make for a more comfortable ride, so we don't have to worry about that chucking and jarring feeling inside of our truck. The way the head is going to install to the slider, is we're going to have two bolts. They're going to come from the inside going through the slider. And we'll have three adjustments on the head itself. We're going to be able to adjust from 17 inches to 21 inches. And that's going to be the measurement from the bottom of the bed to the top of the skid plate on our hitch. Now, to make things a little bit easier when you do install it, the upper section is removable from the midsection. So if we come to the back, there's going to be a pin and clip on either side. And if we remove this clip, we'll be able to pull that pin out, and then pull this bracket that's going to set over our tube here. And if we did that on both sides, the we'll be able to lift the head out, making it a lot lighter and a lot easier to work with. Now, for regular maintenance on our hitch, they've provided us with a couple grease Zerks, so it's going to be extremely easy to lube them up. We'll have one right underneath the jaws, at the center of the funnel, and then one on either side. Both hitches are also going to come with a plastic lube plate, so when we hook up to our trailer, it's going to slide on a lot easier. The Q20 is going to have a 20,000 pound gross trailer weight rating, along with a 4,000 pound vertical load limit. Whereas our Q24 is going to have a 24,000 pound gross trailer weight rating, along with a 6,000 pound vertical load limit. Now, with all those numbers in mind, I always suggest that you double-check your truck's owner's manual, and never exceed the manufacturer's recommended weight. So if you're looking for a fifth-wheel, and your truck already has the Ford factory prep package in it, these are going to be a great option. It's going to be straightforward and easy to use. So now that we've seen what they look like, and gone over the features, I want to show you how to get it set up.To begin our installation, we're going to have to assemble our slider. So we're going to want to take out the two end pieces as well as the handle and the spring, and the small bolt and lock pin that's going to be connecting everything together. And so we'll start by taking the handle piece. It's going to have the red stripe on it, and the rubber coated handle section, and we'll come to the driver side. We're going to know it's the driver side because closer to the cab, it's going to have the green towing position position sticker. And towards the back, it'll say "maneuvering" with our latches on the outside. There's going to be a hole on the side here that our handle's going to fit through. So we'll feed our handle through 'til it comes out in the middle. And we're going to take our spring and slide it over that center section of the handle here. And then we'll take the other piece of the handle, and it is labeled, and we'll notice there's going to be a hole. We're going to want to slide that over the spring and push the spring in until those two holes line up. And then once we have that lined up, we're going to take our bolt, and we're going to go through the outer section and the inner section. And once we have the bolt through, the handle shouldn't move anymore, we're going to take that lock out of the bottom, and we'll thread it on there, just getting it started. And then we're going to want to grab a ten-millimeter socket and wrench, and we're going to tighten that nut and bolt up.Now we're going to take the passenger section, we're going to lift up that handle, and we're going to feed it through the other side, going through the inside. Maybe a little bit of a challenge to get everything lined up, but it is going to be a lot easier doing it this way rather than trying to have both of them together, and contend with getting that spring and everything in the middle.Once you have the bar slid into the passenger side and it's all lined up, we come to the outside, we notice that we're going to have that green indicator sticking out. And we'll know that it's lined up fully and it's fully seated if we see that. So then we're going to take that cross-number piece. We're going to slide it over the spring assembly. We may have to wiggle the two sections around to get it lined up, but there's going to be four holes that'll line up with each side of our slider. And we're going to take the cap screws, and we're going to line them up, and make sure that we can get them in there hand tight to start out. There's going to be a total of four of them, two on each side.I'm going to come back with a seven thirty-seconds Allen bit, and I'm going to tighten those screws up. But you don't want to fully tighten them right now; you just want to snug them up, so that everything will be nice and secure, but we'll come back later and torque everything down. Now, on the front of our slider, here, we're going to have two holes on either side of our section. We're going to have a cross member brace that's going to line up with those holes. And there's going to be one for the front as well as the back. And we're going to take the included hex nuts. And right now, we're just going to get one in each corner hand-tight. That way, it'll support itself, and we don't have to worry about it falling down. Now these holes are slotted for slight adjustments, so I want to make sure that we line it up as best as we can. And it is going to follow the contour of the slider. So just line it up with the edges. And now that we have one in each corner, we'll go ahead and put the other two bolts in.I'm going to come back with a thirteen sixteenths socket. I'm just going to snug up that hardware. We don't want to fully tighten it down right now. Just so we don't have to worry about it moving or shifting. And now that the front is done, we're going to repeat that same process for the rear of our slider. With the slider assembled now, we're going to come to the end, where our two latches are on each side, and we're going to have this linchpin here. We'll go ahead and take that pin out, so that way we can have the section open. So we're just going to want to swing those handles open. Once we have the ability to get to them, just want to make sure you take those pins out, so we can move those handles on each side. Then, if we move into the bed of our truck, we're going to want to pull out the plugs that are in the four corner locations. We're not going to be using the center one, so we can go ahead and leave that plug in. So we'll pull all these plugs out and set them aside. Now, with an extra set of hands, we're going to lift our slider, and we're going to walk back towards the pucks, get it close to being in it's position as we can. And again, we just want to make sure those handles are out so that it can slide into the pucks. And you double-check that they're in there. And we may need to make some adjustments so that we can get our handles to lock in.Since we can't lock down the handle, we are going to have to remove the cotter pin here. So if you just grab a pair of pliers, and we'll bend them to where they're relatively straight. And we can slide them out. And them you're going to want to grab a fifteen sixteenth inch wrench, and we're going to either tighten that castle nut, and attempt to close the handle, or loosen it to see which way we need to go. And basically, we want to adjust that nut until the handle will close. But you want to have a little bit of tension on there, not enough that you're fighting it, but you want to have a little bit of tension so that that latch is secure around where you're closing it.So let's make some fine adjustments. And once we get the handle with the proper tension, we can take our cotter pin, reinsert it into the castle nut, and bend it open so that we don't have to worry about it coming out. And we'll do that for all four handles until we can comfortably close it, with just that little bit of tension on it.With all of our T-bolt handles adjusted properly, to where we can open and close them, we're going to go ahead and get ready to install the head assembly. Now, our slider can work with many different fifth-wheel heads. We're going to be using the Curt Q20 today. So just to make things easy, I'm going to slide it all the way down to where it's setting on that center weldman 00:14:54 section. We're going to want to take the bolts that came with the head. I'm going to take a lock washer, and then a flat washer, and go over one bolt. Now, within the lowest position, these holes are going to be pretty close to being lined up. We may have to lift up just a tad. And the holes of the fifth-wheel head are going to line up with a couple holes that are in the slider here. So we're going to get one bolt in there, just hand started. And there's going to be a total of four of them. We'll have another one towards the back, and then the same two locations on the other side. But we are going to be coming from the inside going out towards the slider. I'm going to come back with a 22-millimeter socket and snug up those bolts. So then I'm going to come back with that 22-millimeter socket and a torque wrench, and then we're going to torque all the bolts down to the specified amount in the instructions. And we're going to make sure we go back and torque all of our hardware. And again, we'll find that specification in the instructions. You want to make sure you torque down those Allen bolts for the weldman section in the center as well. With the midsection torqued down, we're going to put our head assembly in now. And just line everything up. And make sure that our pins go in the right spot. We can slide over the ring, and we'll take the large pin coming from the back side, and then go all the way through, making sure the pin goes all the way through. And then, on the very back section here, it's going to have a hole. And that's where we're going to put our cotter pin at. And we'll go ahead and do that on the other side as well. With our head assembly in place, we can go and put our linchpins back. We want to make sure that the handles are fully closed and the clip goes all the way around so that it can't accidentally be opened. Whether you're using the Q20 head or another head that is compatible with our slider, the process is going to be the same: assembling the slider, putting it in, then putting your head on, and torquing everything down. And that'll finish up your look at the Curt Q-series of fifth-wheel trailer hitches with slider for the Ford Tow and Prep Package on our 2018 Ford F-350 Super-Duty.

After watching a YouTube video, assembly wasn't a problem. Hitch seems ok, haven't used it enough yet. The one problem I Have at this time is the Curt decal on the hitch head was installed crooked . It looks like a kid put it on. If I can't get another one I'll tear that one off and repaint if needed 634939

I purchased this unit a year ago and could not be happier. It performs beautifully and is solidly made. Assembly and installation was a snap for me. I take out during periods of extended non-use and the process is simple both removing and re-installing. I would recommend highly. 593574

Pros: I've been using this hitch for about a year to tow my 5th wheel, and I've probably hooked up to it about 20 times. It's a really great hitch, easy to work, and I really like the color coded features (red, yellow, and green) that show when the hitch is connected or not and ready to tow. I haven't used the slider so I can't comment on that other than it appears to be easy enough to use. I LOVE the puck system to install it in the bed of the truck. As far as etrailer, they are great! They asked some questions to help me determine my needs, and then they provided a number of possible hitches. They were great about answering any questions I had. I've purchased several things from them in the past, and I HIGHLY recommend etrailer!!! Cons: There were a few places in the installation documentation that could have been easier to decipher. There were several videos online showing how the product works, but I couldn't find anything showing how to put it together. This would have been extremely helpful. Also, CURT claims this is a two man lift and can be easily removed from the truck. NOT TRUE! This thing is HEAVY, but it's supposed to be. Unless you have a piece of equipment to help lift it you should plan on leaving it installed. 482315

I apologize for the delayed response. I think Ive had the hitch for about two years now, and I use it to tow a fifth wheel RV quite a lot throughout the year with my Ford F-250. Its been a great hitch and is really easy to use. Probably the best part about it is that it uses the in-bed puck system. I have no regrets on this purchase.

Extremely happy with the new hitch, very easy to assemble (4 bolts, local dealer wanted $300 to assemble), even easier to attach to my factory hitch mounts (Ford). Get someone to help you lift it into your truck. 480689

I bought the 5th wheel to haul trailers and, it's been a great hitch and has been maintained but it's starting to breakdown, parts are failing , but if used for a personal trailer, it will be a great hitch 264239

Shipping was little quirky the factory shipped it via freight and i had to go pick it up from the freight company about 30 minutes away. Once i got it home it was packaged well, installed was very strait forward, it is heavy though so make sure you have two people to lift it into the truck. Have yet to pull a trailer with it so we will see how that goes. Overall assembly height is when installed onto the ram oem rail system adapter is fairly high roughly 57" in the back of 2016 ram 2500. seems like a great product, time will tell. 339057

This is one of the finest hitches I have ever had. I love the ease of operation, the strength it has, and its light weight enough that I can remove it by myself if I want to take my hitch completely out of the bed of my truck. It is a breeze to connect and disconnect by myself, which is a major plus for this solo traveler. The other bonus is the small profile in the bed of the truck, and I still have room to load all my art gear for a show. I would highly recommend it to everyone! 584507

Thank-you etrailer for the fast free shipping! Ordered on Sunday evening and received hitch, mounting kit, and wiring package on Friday!!!! 5 boxes in delivery and all were received at the same time, great job. already tow 5th wheel with this hitch and it is great. Better than my old reese. Hook-up is easy and positve. Will say it does take all evening to install and measurements are extremly important to a good installation. Measured and checked square several times prior to any drilling and the mounting brackets are perfect. Thanks again for the fast, complete, and quality shipment. The only comment regarding shipment is that the hitch box had some damage when received and 5th wheel had a couple of same scratches, no big deal!!! The shipping box is not very durable based on product weight! 192850

Have pulled my 38 foot toy hauler on 9 different trips now with absolutely no problems. Great fifth wheel. previously had a Reese and this on is a just as good if not better.

Review from a similar Curt Q20 in Fifth Wheel

Received product from ETrailer in a very timely manner. All went well with no hitch, play on words, that is what I purchased. Sandy was helpful beyond belief and answered all my questions. Some speak of the damaged boxes when these Curt Hitches arrive. Mine too were damaged but the product was unscathed. Shipping the 100 lbs products I didn't expect the boxes to last. ETrailer did a great job stuffing the shipping boxes all was well. I would recommend ETrailer just on how professional the employees are. I will being purchasing other items again. Thanks again Sandy! 328914

Review from a similar Curt Q20 in Fifth Wheel

After the delivery truck driver just basically threw the hitch, sliders and adapter rails off the truck and dragged them through the door of our offices. (Even though we have a warehouse and a forklift). I got the forklift and a co-worker and we picked the destroyed boxes and parts up and put them up in the back of my truck. The entire hitch package weights around 280 lbs, be sure to have help to move and install it. etrailer and Curt replaced the stickers that were scraped off the hitch by the hard landing and after some re-painting of the black parts it looks alright and works great. We have around 7,200 miles towing with it so far and it's just starting to get broken in. Great product, very strong (but heavy) 628568

Great product, well built. Only issue I had was the two flat head screws needed to be countersunk deeper, as they stuck up and destroy the lube plate. 350349

Review from a similar Curt Q20 in Fifth Wheel

The slide portion of this hitch works very well with very little effort from truck. I have hooked and unhooked several times at our permanent campground lot and have not had any problem with the jaws locking or releasing . We have not taken the 5th wheel camper down the road for any distance, so I cannot comment on hitch rattle or ride. The only issue I have had and it is negligible. It was hard for me to insert and remove the rail pins to remove the hitch from the truck because the rear pins are under the hitch frame.( and yes I mounted the rails perfectly square). If you're not going to remove the hitch often than its a non issue. The rubber dampeners just make the pins tight. I would recommend this hitch for sure just can't give it an excellent if we haven't taken it down the road for a distance. 383206

We have taken our Fifth wheel to Arizona and back and the hitch performed perfectly. I make sure to keep the hitch lubricated properly. It is definitely quieter and less jerky. I would give the hitch a 5 star as I have not had a problem with this hitch.

Review from a similar Curt Q20 in Fifth Wheel

Just got back from a two-week road trip out west, the new trailer hitch performed without a snag! Easy docking and undocking, very nice to have a nice smooth ride. We are very impressed and thankful for an excellent product. The package in which the hitch arrived was in pretty rough shape, but all the pieces arrived. There is one place on the deck itself where it took some scuffing of the paint from whatever it was banged on during shipping. We are going to have to touch up that place to keep it from rusting in the elements. All in all, this was a great buy. Thanks 574834

Comments

Any good quality rust inhibiting spray paint like Rust-Oleum would work just fine.

I have not actually used the product yet, but know it will be great. The service from ETrailer was phenomenal! I ordered on Monday and it was delivered on Friday afternoon without having to pay an extra fee. The price saved me $900 compared to the price the RV store was quoting me. I am thoroughly pleased. 336332

Review from a similar Curt Q20 in Fifth Wheel

I had a 16K Husky 5th wheel hitch for 12 years. It came with the RV purchase. We upgraded to a larger 5th wheel in 2015. I pulled it with the K16 but due to wear on the hitch I didn't feel comfortable. I searched the internet and came upon etrailer.com. I began researching different hitches. I settled on Curt due to it's reviews. I placed an order with etrailer and the next day I got an email with all of the shipping and tracking information. I had the hitch in 5 days. I was very disappointed when it was delivered. The shipping box was very light duty and had been reinforced with pieces of cardboard damaged. There was also a lot of heavy duty staples holding it together. I took photos upon delivery. After I opened the box I found the hitch was damaged. I immediately sent an email with photos of the box as received and the damage to the hitch. I called customer service and talked to Gina and Janice and went over the details. I was given instructions for returning the hitch and was emailed necessary papers to ship it back at no charge. I dropped it off at UPS the same day and received notification in 3 days that it was received. I was also advised a new hitch would be sent out and I received it in 3 days. At first I was very upset but after. That quickly changed after talking to the staff and receiving the new hitch within 5 days. These type things sometimes happen. I give the staff at etrailer.com an applause for their quick handling of this issue. I have since made another purchase. Give them a try. 275867

Review from a similar Curt Q20 in Fifth Wheel

The Curt Q20 with R20 slider hitch arrived just as promised in 3 days after placing the order. The Q20 head box was totally destroyed. The manufacture packaging was not made to ship individually using small package carrier such as UPS. Upon inspection I discovered that the bolts and washers were missing. I contacted Bill at E-trailer and told him. He explained that the replacements would have to come from the manufacturer and would take several days. I told him that I already scheduled an install and really needed those bolts and washers. He was able to round some up for me and shipped them out next day and they arrived on Monday just as promised. I also spoke with Bill about not being able to remove the head unit for the hitch. It needed to be removed to be able to install it on the slider. It seemed to be stuck and I could not budge it. I assumed that it may have been damaged in shipping, especially after receiving it in a demolished box. He explained to me that since it was new its tolerances were tight and I might try taking a pry bar to it. Well that did not make me feel real good. He was totally correct. Just a little more effort with a pry bar moved it just enough for the bushing to squeak loose and the head came right out. I am disappointed in the jaws on this unit. They look like they were forged by a 3rd grader. Not smooth and somewhat pitted. They are not machined jaws for sure. Had it all installed using the new Reese rail brackets for the 2017 F250. Everything went smooth. An added plus is the quiet ride when not connect to trailer. Can’t even notice the hitch is back there. My other hitch rattled and clanked all the time and was so annoying. I just hooked my 38ft 5th wheel for the first time. It was smoother and easier than any other hitch I have ever used. I bought the sider unit which is recommended by all for the short bed. However I cannot use the slider as the king pin box slides too close to the tall tail gate. The new 2017 F250 is taller and the bed is deeper so I needed a hitch that would go up to 19 ½ inches. I will update after a my first run with trailer later this month. Everyone at E-trailer was outstanding. 5 Star. I will keep using them in the future. 303415

Because of personal medical issues, I had the hitch installed professionally. I pull a 38' fifth wheel behind a Duramax powered Chevy. The hitch has served it's purpose well and looking forward to using it for many more years!! I purchased the slider version, but have found that I would NOT have had to purchase a slider because of the design of the front of my fifth wheel, as seen in the pic's. I am able to do 90 degree turns without any problems (without moving the hitch rearward). 302964

This 5th wheel hitch fits OEM hitch mount provisions perfectly on my 2017 Ram 3500. Connecting and disconnecting works well. This hitch is heavy for one person to manage, but a hoist set-up makes for easy installation and removal. Tows well with no play between trailer pin and truck. Great product. 625666

Review from a similar Curt Q20 in Fifth Wheel

After I bought my new camper the search was on for a better hitch. I previously owned a little rocker 15k with the slide bar style locking mechanism. It worked well but with the bigger camper I wanted something that would eliminate the chucking in the hitch that I was getting. After looking at a lot of other hitches and comparing price vs. features I settled on this hitch. The box it was shipped in was pretty beat up when it got to my house but I kinda expected that. The hitch survived the journey without a scratch. Its built very heavy, but not so heavy that I cant remove it my truck by myself. The fitment between all the components seems good without a lot of slop. After setting the height I hitched up to the camper and took her for a test run. I am very happy with the results so far. The only place that I get any movement is where the hitch connects to the rails but I plan on purchasing the felt pads to eliminate that in the future. The indicators on the release bar are very nice, its nice to have a visual indication and know the jaws are locked. Even after a year of use i still can't find anything to really complain about. If anyone is looking for a solid hitch that won't break the bank I would strongly recommend this one. 607787

2 years ago I bought a inexpensive Curt hitch for a previous camper. I asked what the difference was between that and an 800 to $1,000 unit, now I know why. The long-term ride with this hitch is really great, double Jaws versus single Jaws is the way to go 587766
