Specs:
Quiet, Secure Ride
The 1" thick jaw on the Companion OEM is precision machined to provide a tight, sturdy connection. And unlike slide-bar models, the rounded 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.
In addition to the sturdy jaw, the Companion has durable polyurethane bushings built in to provide a smoother, more comfortable towing experience. These bushings sit on top of the pivot arms that support the fifth-wheel head. Because the head is resting on a padded area, it is able to pivot without clanking. The ability of the head to pivot - both front to back and side to side - along with the trailer also helps to limit the chucking that may occur with a more static hitch.
Non-Binding Latch Handle
The dual jaw on the Companion OEM is operated by a simple-to-use cam-action handle. This handle allows you to quickly and easily release the jaws on the hitch, even if you are on uneven terrain. If any binding does occur between your truck and trailer, the jaws may remain closed after you move the handle to the open position. But because the handle is unlatched, there is nothing keeping the jaws closed except for the binding pressure. Therefore, simply driving your truck forward will be enough to force the jaws to open.
The cam-action handle is held in the closed position with the included pin and clip. For extra security, you can replace the pin with a sturdy padlock. The shackle on the lock you choose should have a diameter of 5/16", height of 3", and a width of 2-1/4".
To install the Companion OEM, first set up the Companion's pivot arms. The arms are what allow the hitch to be adjusted front to back as well as up and down for optimal positioning. As a result, this hitch can accommodate the height of your trailer and also help to give you the cab clearance needed to execute turns while towing.
To adjust either the height of the hitch or the fore/aft positioning, just attach the hitch's pivot arms in the desired location on the base.
Then, when the hitch head is fully assembled, simply place the hitch in the bed of your truck, lining the base up with the receiver sockets in the bed. Rotate all 4 handles on the hitch base out so that the built-in puck receivers are in the correct position to install in the sockets. Once the base is lined up, fold the handles in until they are in the locked position and secure them with the included pins.
The hitch head installs on top of the pivot arms. When you have the head in position, simply secure it to the arms with the included pins.

Video of B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 25,000 lbs
Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information.
Speaker 1: Today we're gonna take a look at the B&W Companion OEM Fifth Wheel Hitch for the Chevy and GMC towing prep package, and it has a 25,000 lb weight capacity. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2016 and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 trucks with the 8' bed and the factory rail kit. And on a custom fit part, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use our it guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this fifth wheel hitch is designed to mount in your truck bed so that you can tow your fifth wheel trailer. It is designed to work with the factory-installed fifth wheel towing prep package from Chevy or GMC. It is a rail free design, so it does allow for full access to your truck bed when you remove the hitch from the truck.
The head itself uses the 1" thick dual jaws. These will provide a nice 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact. Give you less rattle, more security than your slide-bar jaws. The head itself is a fully articulating head. Helps to ease hookup, helps limit chucking.
Basically, it'll pivot front to back and side to side. And, to open the jaws, they use this cam-action latching handle, helps prevent any binding. It's very simple to release, even on un-level terrain, and it is lockable to secure your trailer to the hitch.Right now they use a pin and a clip, which you can remove, and you can just drop your handle back and you see how your jaws open. And then once you slide in, the handle will come back in and the hole will line up. Now, the hole is large enough, you could put a padlock through there for extra security if need be.
We do sell those separately. Now, you can also get extra cab clearance by, when you mount your pivot arms to your base here, you can . There's different places you can bolt those to, so if you reverse them, it's sort of a triangular shape pivot arm. So right now, how you have it, if you want to turn it the other way, you can gain 2" of front to back adjustment. So basically, you can either have your king pin 2" behind the axle for extra clearance, or the king pin right over the axle. It'll also give you three different hitch height settings when you bolt the pivot arms.
There's five rows of holes in the base, so when you go to bolt your pivot arms to the base, there's a range of hitch height settings from 16-3/4", 17-3/4", and 18-3/4", and that's always measured from your front bed to the top of the hitch head, and hitch height is critical because when you tow your fifth wheel, you want it to be as level as possible. Now, this head sits on the top of the pivot arms, and in the top of the pivot arms they have polyurethane bushings that this head sits in, that gives you a nice quiet, rattle-free ride. And to remove this head, this can be taken apart, so one person could do it, basically. These pins and clips right here, if you pull the two clips, pull the pins out, and then just lift up on these handles, that'll allow you to take this head right off the pivot arms, and then you can take the base with the pivot arms out, also. Now, to install this in your vehicle, it's a very quick, simple installation. All it does is drop right into the four receiver pucks that are built into the factory under-bed rails. What you want to do is just remove your pin and clip, rotate your handle out, and the tabs right here will rotate, and you do that one each corner. Once you get it all open, drop it right into the pucks. Once it drops into the pucks, just turn the handles back 90-degrees on all four corners, and that'll lock the tabs into the pucks. And then, for security, take your pin and clip, slide it through there to lock the handles in. So it's simple to install and remove. If you notice, it has a nice gray powder coat finish to it for corrosion resistance. It is all steel construction. This part is made in the U.S.A. A few specs again, the application is for 2016 and newer GM trucks with the factory installed towing prep package. Gross towing weight capacity is 25,000 lbs. Tongue weight capacity is 6,250 lbs. We had mentioned the hitch height. It can be adjusted from 16-3/4" up to 18-3/4". And the last thing I want to show you is just how the jaws operate. Here's a replica of what a king pin would be like on your fifth wheel. So again, what you have to do is just pop your pin and clip off, rotate your handle back. Now you could, if you want it to stay all the way open, there is another hole that you could drop your pin and clip through back here that'll allow that handle to stay in the open position, if you want to use that. But then, what you would do is you'll slide inaudible 00:04:25 back into your fifth wheel, and as your king pin slides in there, the weight of the fifth wheel will push back. That'll move that handle back into the lock position. You can see the jaws are fully wrapped around it. Then you just take your pin and clip, drop it into place, clip it. You're locked in, and you're all ready to go.And then again, just to remove it, take your pin and clip off, and as you release the handle, you're gonna release your king pin right out of there. Simple as that. But that should do it for the review on the B&W Companion OEM Fifth Wheel Hitch for the Chevy and GMC towing prep package, and this has a 25,000 lbs weight capacity.

Specially designed to attach to the receivers in your factory 5th-wheel towing prep package, the Companion OEM features a dual jaw for excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact and a cam-action handle for simple release. Easily remove for full bed access.Installation was very easy! The instructions are easy to read and understand also. Everything about this hitch is top quality heavy duty materials. I do not see anything “cheap” about it. I am very impressed. Thank you B&W for making a top quality removable 5th wheel hitch! And thank you etrailer for being so professional and easy to work with! Oh, the over night shipping is the best! 673369
Great product Easy to install, worked as advertised with absolutely no slack or slop. Beautiful workmanship. I’m a happy camper! Billy 558241
The fifth wheel seems well built and has a good heavy locking mechanism. I am a little skeptical about the rubber pads on the uprights that the fifth wheel swivels on. With a heavy fifth wheel only time and being used will tell me if they will last. It fits my GMC factory holes and lines up nicely. It is fairly heavy and requires two people. I did install it by myself once , but be careful if you try this not too hurt your back lifting it. I would recommend this product and also etrailer delivered quickly and fair pricing. Thank you ! Product received quickly and in perfect condition. I'm very pleased with all my orders from etrailer. I incorrectly ordered a 7 1/2” drop for my 2018 Silverado Duramax 2500. I reordered the 5” drop and it is a better fit. 727729
Great product!, will purchase again if the need arises. Easy to install and easy to use. The quality is top notch. 725324
I was a little apprehensive while I waited for delivery. In retrospect I should not have been. I detailed map of the exact location of the hitch while in route to my house was provided and everything was as advertised! The hitch arrived perfectly packaged and the directions were concise and complete. I had no difficulty with the setup and everything fit perfectly! Accomplished with a few tools and I required no assistance. It's the morning after and I am still delighted everything went so well and it seems so stable in the truck. Thank you!! PS Again perfect fit in my 2019 Chevy 3500 dually with OEM puck mounts. Product Review Item BWRVK3705 724502
This is a great hitch in almost every respect. It is massively built of quality material. The pucks line up perfectly in the bed of my truck. When you connect your fifth wheel there is no doubt that the jaws have engaged, and they won't let go. I have only one small criticism and that is that the handle and the locking pin are a pain to get to over the side of the bed on a dually. I have to use a little stepstool to reach it, but of course I am not as spry as I used to be. But I will take this after seeing people jerking around on the handle of some other brands trying to latch the jaws or whatever they are doing. This design locks in and hitching up is so easy to do. And need I mention that this hitch is made right here in the good old USA? 719451
A perfect choice to pull a 40' 5th wheel. The OEM puck model for the new GMC's is a direct fit. Mine was a replacement for the Curt 24k, which was a stupid choice for my first 5th wheel hitch. 719410
B&W are the best and safest 5th wheel hitches I have found. I won't use anything else and etrailer is excellent in every respect. Thank you. 717439

boxing of base a little bit on the poor side but it is the mgf box it was ripped up on arrival but no damage etrailer was extremely fast shipping ,excellent price no complaints about them 669485
Ordered on Sunday, got it on Thursday. Box was in good shape and instructions were easy. It says 1 hr to install, but to ensure it is correct, need to double and triple check the dogs that connect to the truck to ensure that it is all seated correctly. The instructions tell you what you need, but forget that you also need some lithium grease and wrenches to go with the sockets that are listed in the instructions. Got the 25K because it can't hurt to have more capacity than needed. Plan on towing a toy hauler with a GVW of 19K. It is only $200 +/- more for the extra capacity from a 20K, but beefier than needed is better, just in case we need to haul up to the capacity of the truck. 634983
Product arrived prompt, haven't put together yet, seems to be fine considering the box for the frame was pretty much destroyed 614258

Got my new B&W Companion hitch in a timely manner. This hitch is well built and installs very easily by one person. 566339
Kim was a real help when ordering my B&W hitch. I had chosen two hitches and wanted some expert opinions on which one to buy. Kim asked several of their tech experts and with that information I was able to make a decision. Kim told me that the B&W was not in stock and I would have to wait a couple of weeks which was fine. George in shipping kept me posted by email when my hitch would be available and when it would ship which was a help knowing what was happening. Great communication. Arrived yesterday evening and installed this morning. Packaged well and good instructions. Looks and works great. Thanks ETRAILER. 516320

First of all, I received everything a day earlier than expected. I asked the delivery guys to put it in the back of my truck; so I didn't even have to lift it up. The B&W Companion fifth wheel hitch installed so easily, and believe me I'm no mechanic by any means. I deliver RV's all over the country. The B&W Companion hitch is so easy to use and once hooked up I could hardly tell the trailer was there. Excellent hitch that I would recommend highly. 593585

I chose the right setting the first time around (yea) all in all the hitch is solid as they come. On a small note locks would be nice part of package.Towing is a breeze and I will definitely recommend etrailer and b&w hitch to all. Customer service is great and with timely response to my emails. 674074

This is a quality product. It arrived quickly, the instructions were clear and in a very short time i was ready to pull our 5th wheel. We have not had any issues with the product. The fact that it is a two piece hitch sure makes installation/removal a fairly easy job. 585237

Hitch has worked perfectly. No clunking or popping sounds. Only negative comment which is not a fault of the hitch, it is very heavy. 504161

Review from a similar B and W Companion in Fifth Wheel
I've had this for about a year. Only have about 2,000 miles of use with a 13,000 lbs 5th wheel travel trailer. It is still like new. Jaws are tight, no rattles with or without the trailer attached. I use a nylon guide plate, to keep things clean. The only issue is the slider will not unlatch from the locked position with the trailer attached. Unlatch and slides fine when not loaded. Just haven't made the time to talk to B&W about this. The base is a heavy bugger, and fits snug in the receptical. I've lifted it in and out myself, but not a smart idea. Overall I would buy again. For our use, where we need the whole bed the majority of time it is an easy solution. 608616
Youll want to make sure that the slider rails are lubricated. Also keep in mind that if the truck and trailer are at different angles and theres a lot of pressure placed on the sliding mechanism, it can bind.

The hitch is great except that it has a tendency to not lock into place when putting it in the rear turning position. Sometimes needs to be slammed into position to get the handle to lock. Its very heavy! Must have two people to move the lower base section. I have a friend that has the Curt hitch and this hitch is much better in my opinion. It pulls a 38' Mobile Suite. 635218

Best Hitch on the market if you have ford factory gooseneck prep system. Heavy Duty, and secure. No more chucking back and forth. Would recommended 100 times over. Customer service was super, and free shipping was awesome. Arrived a day earlier than anticipated. Etrailer is top notch 198684
Still the best 5th wheel hitch on the market. Not a single problem.

Pretty easy install. Spend the 5 minutes to take the heat shield and spare tire off. The little rubber "gripper" on the handle pulled off the first pull. Maybe B&W could put a little glue on it . 380980
B and W companion 5th wheel hitch on 2016 Ram 3500. Easy install, good directions. 20,000 pound capacity, will easily tow toy hauler. Removes easily to have full bed access or to use the gooseneck hitch which you will need for companion hitches. Very fast delivery. Thank you.

Just finished installing my B&W Companion 5th Wheel hitch. I hooked to my RV to check my instillation, everything went very smooth. I would recommend this hitch to anyone with a Gooseneck turnover ball B&W hitch installed in there truck bed. Great product, very easy instillation. 310924
This hitch is working out great. Easy to take out and put in. Two of my friends have purchased this hitch after seeing how great they work. Love my hitch!
Review from a similar B and W Companion in Fifth Wheel
All though this hitch is not light (which I knew it would be beefy), it was really simple to install. In all it took about 4 hours to assemble and complete. I am not an novice to assembling heavy and intricate machinery. Reading the instructions completely is a must before starting any process. It looks and works great. The puck system makes it easier to install. And removing the 5th wheel when it is not in use just takes removing two keeper pins and lifting on the release handles. It did take longer to receive the hitch after I ordered it (about a eight days). 183013
Fantastic! Works as designed and keeps my rig straight down the highway lane. Great product.

I own a RAM 3500 with an 8ft bed. The truck came with the B&W gooseneck base. I was hesitant on buying the companion because my previous 5th wheel hitches were installed on ISD. The companion is a great product and very easy instructions and installation. What I like most about the hitch is that the base can be swapped out for a slider if you have a smaller truck bed. Great quality, made in the US and easy installation. Etrailer had the lowest price and customer service was terrific. 343171

Great instructions. Easy to install. The video tutorials on product reviews, installation instructions, etc. on etrailer.com have helped me do research and to choose the right product for my needs. This is the second B&W Companion hitch I have used to pull a 16,000lb GVWR 5th wheel trailer. The first was the companion to the turnover ball hitch, and this one is companion to the Ford OEM gooseneck prep system (puck connect). Just finished pulling our trailer home from the RV dealer. Worked great!!!! Lastly, the ordering process, shipment tracking and overall communication with etrailer staff is fantastic. 615173
Review from a similar B and W Companion in Fifth Wheel
I recently purchased a Curt A20 for GM Puck System and had a lot of noise issues from the hitch when starting and stopping. Curt claimed the spacing designed into the jaw system could make the noise or the factory brake controller is not programmed correctly to the weight of my trailer which is making the trailer to slam forward and then reverse. Curt also asked me to lock out my pin box (Rotaflex) to stop the potential over travel of the hitch head. I did lock out my pin box and it still made noise. Curt did send me a replacement head with no issues, but it unfortunately did not change the issue. At that point they told me there was nothing they could do if the hitch was within spec. It is performing to their design specifications. So....because I was not happy with the product, I decided to called etrailer and ordered a B&W Companion for the GM Puck system. They were extremely helpful with the order and it arrived very fast. I put it in the truck and connected the rv. Guess what no noise, no slamming. B&W did a great job in the design of this hitch to vertically eliminate any noises. I am so impressed with how quiet this hitch is that I should have strongly considered the B&W hitch in the first place. The price difference was difficult for me to justify initially, but now that I have had the two different hitches, it is more than worth the additional money. Overall, Curt tried to help me address the concern and makes good products. I believe the hitch would serve the purpose, but comparing it to the B&W, the B&W is definitely the best hitch I have experienced overall so far and etrailer is the place to get it from. 392973
Review from a similar B and W Companion in Fifth Wheel
Overall quality of the product is excellent, very easy to hitch and unhitch. A couple of minor issues that would seem to be easy to correct, and would be consistent with such a high quality unit: The instructions were not too informative about how to attache the product arms to the base: it is quite awkward, even with two people. After completion, it would have been much easier to invert the base on a stand, and attach the arms 'upside down'. Having this in the instructions would have saved a lot of time and effort. The little spring clip that keeps the hitch head at a slight angle towards the trailer looks like an after thought, and here again, the instructions were weak. It indicates that the clip should be tapped on with a hammer, but this is, in fact, quite difficult to do. A better attachment system is called for, the only weak item on the entire hitch. 455680

Well built, straight forward assembly and installation for the Ford puck system. I put an after market rubber mat I and cut 5 holes in it for the mounts in the truck bed. The plates have enough stand off to more than allow for the thickness of the mat. I do wish the frame had 4 lifting eyes build in, I can use a hoist to get it into place in the pickup bead. Are the bolts on the slider frame long enough to allow for adding a plate to them? I'd hate to mess up the finish on the hitch 639324

The product has arrived as advertised. Easy to assemble with great instructions. Mounted it into a 2017 F350. Only minor adjustments needed to the castle nuts to get the right tension on the locking mechanisms. Tried the 1st pull with it day with excellent results. I am pulling a 2013 Montana 38 foot 5th wheel with a GVWR of 18,500. 518495

--------------This is a very strong hitch with an innovative mount.-------------------- I have been using the hitch for about a year now. I purchased the combo kit with the gooseneck in bed parts as well as the 5th wheel assembly. I purchased this unit because it can provide both the gooseneck and 5th wheel modes. I installed mine in a 2014 RAM 3500 DRW which already has the basic structure under the bed so the install went very well. I completed the install at home, which took about 4-5 hours. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, plus there are several installation demonstration videos online for my exact truck, so after watching those it was no problem. The 5th wheel works well with no squeaks or rattles. I pull a 35' 13,500lb toy hauler. The hitch parts are made of thick heavy steel which really gives confidence it will pull the heavy loads. The king pin jaws also seem a bit larger and more heavy duty than other hitches with the same ratings. The hitch also has a lot of adjustments both up and down, and for and aft, which helped to dial in the hitch very well to my trailer. It does convert from 5th wheel to gooseneck easy enough. Just remember it does require a socket to relieve the tension on the gooseneck adapter before it can be released. This is not a big deal, just makes sure to bring a wrench along if you are planning to swap modes while away from home. There is only one small aspect that keeps me from rating the hitch as excellent. I have noticed that the paint/coating scrapped of rather easily in the mouth of the coupler. I guess I rubbed the side of the mouth with the trailer pin when coupling up and it caused the paint to scrape off. Since then the coating is also starting to peel all around the jaw area. 264228

5 Stars - Ease of Installation 2 Stars - Quality of material 2 Stars - Durability in operation 4 Stars - Quietness in operation 2 Stars - Packaging to prevent damage **Could not see until installed and looking at the the hitch from the tailgate, the right side of the receiver plate was bent down. I was in a bind and had to use the hitch so chances of returning are nil. It was fairly quiet especially on interstate driving. The high point where the hitch bends down put stress on the "good" side scraping off the paint. I do not have to move my RV for a few months, so I will probably scrap the B&W hitch and purchase the Reese Hitch 27.5 which I saw today at my local Ford Dealership. It looks more durable and stronger than the BWRVK3300. Give 5 Stars to etrailer.com, this was a smooth transaction; shipping was great and received on time. 497564
Scrapped it because it was damaged, see initial impression. Wasnt worth the price.

I purchased this hitch to connect to the Chevy factory prepped 5th Wheel kit for a new 2017 Chev Silverado 3500 dually. My previous truck/ hitch combo (2015 Chev Silverado 3500 single axle 6.5’ bed w/ Reese Pro Series) used industry standard rails and there was quite a bit of movement in the entire hitch assembly and king pin area resulting in significant chucking on the horrible So. Cal. freeways. The B&W hitch was one of two recommended by the professionals at etrailer. I could not be happier. The hook-up is very easy & the overall operation of the hitch is much easier & simpler than my previous hitch. The 1” thick jaw makes a secure connection to the kingpin and the overall ride has smoothed out significantly. Great product so well liked that my son found a used one for sale and snapped it up for his rig. 504905

Just started 5th wheel camping and wanted a hitch that when removed left my truck box bare. I also talked to alot of people who talked about clunking and noise from their hitch while towing. I bought a 2013 32' Coachman which is pushing my 2009 F150 to its max. When pulling with this hitch it feels like the truck and trailer are one unit. No noise and no slop between the two units. I made a lifting pin that goes into the jaws and lifts it out with a comealong hooked to a rafter support in my garage. I then put it onto a wheel cart I made. No heavy lifting and one person can do it all. I've had one teflon foot fall of the hitch and the service was amazing no questions, no pictures, and no waiting. New piece was sent right away. Anyone who tows now and has looked at the hit are very impressed. I would definitly recomend this hitch to everyone. 592596

Received my B*W Companion 3600 hitch today through UPS, it arrived in three boxes, one box had the base unit for my 2018 Ram 3500 puck system, one box had the two side pivot arms and the bolt kit package for the coupler head unit and the third box contained the coupler head unit. All the boxes arrived in good condition, many of the reviews that I read said the boxes were destroyed upon arrival and I was relieved that the hitch and boxes arrived in perfect condition. After watching a Youtube video from Big Truck Big RV "JD" (on the companion hitch) who is a partner of etrailer I decided to purchase from etrailer vs other suppliers due to the reviews and video that etrailer is the best to buy from and they are available to answer and assist if needed. It took me about 30 to 40 minutes to unbox, assemble and install the hitch, very easy to do. I mounted the side pivot arms directly center over the rear axle and at its lowest setting 17". This companion hitch is replacing a Demco slider hitch that I Purchased in Feb of 2019 (totally dissapointed in the Demco from day one hence already replaced). I have not towed with the companion hitch yet as it arrived today, I will update my review once I have some time on the hitch pulling my 38' triple axle 18,000lb 5er, I have a upcoming trip and looking forward to testing the companion hitch. So far I am impressed with the quality and it looks great too, the paint on the hitch appears to be very good quality and there are no bare spots, all the welds look of high quality. Sa far I give it 5 stars. 679455
Review from a similar B and W Companion in Fifth Wheel
I recently bought the gooseneck and fifth wheel b&w hitches to install on my 2008 f 250. I could not be more happy with the products and customer service that etrailer provides. I also bought The Pollack t connector that was also easy to use. The install was done at home and easy to understand. Thanks again. 372927
