Overall the system was easy to install. The only problem that I had was one bolt on each side of the frame bracket was too large and would not go through the factory drilled hole in the frame. I replaced it with a smaller bolt and everything lined up great. Much easier for an average do-it-yourselfer since most people do not have a welder to attach the brackets to the 239507

2014 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I bought a custom fifth wheel hitch for my new f250. It was delivered on time and fit very well, instructions were very simple to comprehend. Thanks H. 134982

Ask the Experts about this Husky Fifth Wheel Installation Kit

  • Husky Fifth Wheel Rail Brackets for 2008 F-450 King and Rail Dimensions
Your truck definitely had a set of industry standard set of fifth wheel rails in it so I am confident we can get you replacement rails but we need to know what brand brackets are on there. Could you get pictures of the brackets under the truck bed or see if you have a brand you can see there as well.

  • 5th Wheel Hitch Brackets and Base Rails for 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty
We have Husky brackets that fit your 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty, but the part number you asked about only fits certain model year Dodge trucks. Instead, for the correct fitting Husky installation kit and matching base rails (since you cannot mix and match install kits and rails) you need the Husky Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # HT31408-686.

  • Installation Time for Husky 5th Wheel Hitch of 2011 Ford F250 Short Bed
Husky Towing estimates about a 3-1/2 hour install time for someone experienced in fifth wheel installation. Reese offers the # RP56016-53 install kit which lists a 3-1/2 hour install time, because no drilling is required to install the frame mounted brackets, which certainly would save some time. Curt offers the # C16424-104 which requires no drilling and has an estimated install time of about 2-1/2 hours. Any of the three installation kits mentioned above would be compatible with...

  • Husky Fifth Wheel Hitch Mounting Brackets/Rails for 2011 Ford F250/F350
As long as your Husky sliding fifth wheel hitch is compatible with Industry Standard 5th wheel bed rails with mounting tabs that measure 22 inches apart center to center front to back and 10 inches, 20-1/2 or 29 inches center to center measured side to side the # HT31408-686 rail kit will be compatible. This particular rail kit fits 2008-2016 Ford F250, F350 and F450 models. I've provided a photo of the measurements mentioned above superimposed on a set of bed rails.

  • Recommended Pins To Attach Fifth Wheel Hitch To Husky Bed Rails
Standard pins like part # 6014 can be used to attach a fifth wheel hitch to your Husky rails. The pins measure 1/2-inch diameter and 3-1/4 inches long and will work well with your rails.

  • Install Kit for Husky Fifth Wheel Hitch on 2012 Ford F250 Super Duty
Since a fifth wheel hitch is not a vehicle specific item, you can certainly use the Husky slider from your older truck and install it in your new F250. You will need a new install kit, several fifth wheel hitch manufacturers make custom install kits that would be compatible including Husky, Curt and Reese. The Husky kit is part # HT31408-686. If you would prefer Reese, then you can use # RP56016-53 or for Curt, # C16424-204. Each kit includes the frame brackets, bed rails and all necessary...

  • Will Valley Power Pull Extreme 5th Wheel Hitch Fit Husky Base Rail Kit HT31408-686 in 2008 F-250
Husky 5th Wheel base rail installation kit # HT31408-686 is indeed a confirmed fit in your 2008 Ford F-250 with 6-3/4-foot bed. This custom-fit bracket and base rail kit will take less time and requires less drilling for installation in your F-250 than a comparable universal-fit rail kit like # RP30035. This base rail kit will work with any 5th wheel hitch designed for installation in industry-standard rails (ISRs). The (discontinued) Valley Power Pull Extreme 25K hitch is designed for...

The Husky Towing Custom Base Rail Kit you referenced, part # HT31408-686 includes the frame brackets, bed mounted rails, and all necessary hardware. The install kit, less the bed rails is available as part # HT31408. If the bed rails off of your old truck are the Husky brand, you can reuse them. We don't recommend using frame brackets and bed rails from differing manufacturers. They have not been tested together, and therefore their weight capacity would be unknown. If you do not...

  • Husky Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for a 2008 Ford F-250 Short Bed
I checked with Husky Towing and the difference between the two fifth wheel kits part # HT31408-686 and # HT31412-686 is the vehicles the two are designed to fit. There is a bit of overlap between what the two kits will fit though and I think that is where the confusion comes from. The 31408 fits 08-16 Ford F-250/350/450 Super Duty, whereas the 31412 fits 05-16 Ford F-350 plus 08-09 F-450 Super Duty (except 11-16 Diesel Pickups). Since you have an F-250 you would then want the part...

  • PullRite and Husky 5th Wheel Hitch Compatibility with 2012 Ford F-250 with 6-1/2-Foot Bed
Since your 2013 Crossroads Cruiser Aire CFL28CS 5th wheel has a dry base weight of 6885-lbs it is well within the 12K capacity of the PullRite 3100 Slider. However, this hitch is a fit only for 1/2-ton trucks; it is not usable in your 3/4-ton F-250. I confirmed this with PullRite. You will therefore need to either re-use your 16K Husky hitch or install a new one. I suggest a custom install kit for the new 2012 truck. Custom kits reduce installation time compared to universal-fit types....

  • Recommended Base Rails for Using Existing Husky 5th Wheel Hitch with 2015 Ford F-350
Your existing Husky fifth wheel hitch is compatible with industry-standard, above-bed base rails. To use this hitch with your new 2015 Ford F-350, I recommend installing the Curt Custom Installation Kit # C16424-204. This will include the base rails and custom brackets that will use existing holes in your truck's frame for a much easier installation process. The base rails are compatible with your Husky hitch and are a bit more economically priced when compared to the Husky rails designed...

  • Below-Bed Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch on 2014 Ford F-250, F-350 Super Duty
The only rail Husky offers for their sliding hitches for your 2014 Ford F-250 or F-350 Super Duty is the Husky Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit # HT31408-686. These rails are above-bed rails. Reese, Demco, and B&W offer below-bed rails for their sliding 5th wheel trailer hitches for your F-250 or F-350. You are correct that the custom installation brackets you had on your Chevrolet would not work on your 2013 Ford F-250, but I am happy to point you in the direction of the correct installation brackets. As long as the above-bed rails that you have are the Husky Universal Base Rails for 5th Wheel Hitch # HT30686, the Husky Custom Mounting Bracket Kit for 5th Wheel Hitches # HT31408 is what you will need to install the rails in your 2013 F-250. I have a fifth wheel rail kit I can recommend for your 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 6 foot bed, but the # HT31408-686 is for Ford trucks. Instead the Husky Rail kit you would need is the part # HT31413-686 which has been confirmed as a fit. This is a custom install kit that will minimize drilling of your vehicle and will install much faster than a universal kit so I would recommend it for you. I attached an install video. According to the installation instructions found on Huskytow.com for the 31408 frame brackets, the frame brackets themselves utilize some existing holes in the truck frame, but you will need to drill a 9/16 hole on both sides for each bracket. You will also need to drill through the truck bed to connect the bed rails to the frame bracekts. Keep in mind that the bracket kit which we offer as part # HT31408 doesn't include the bed rails. The Husky Custom Base Rail Kit # HT31408-686 will install using the existing holes in your 2013 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Short Bed. Since this is a custom fit bracket you will not need to drill holes into the frame of your truck. This is a universal fit kit and will require drilling into the frame of your truck in order to install the base rails for a 5th wheel hitch.
