The single-piece, strong wraparound jaw completely surrounds your trailer's king pin for 360 degrees of contact. This wraparound jaw provides a more secure connection than standard 2-piece jaws that close in on the king pin from the sides. The increased jaw-to-king-pin contact on the SL Series hitch offers tighter tolerances around the king pin, which minimizes both rattle and chucking, for a smooth, quiet ride.
A 3/4" thick solid steel locking bar spans the area in front of the jaw. This bar provides an added barrier of protection against accidental disconnection so you can have peace of mind that your trailer is secure. The locking bar is attached to the jaw and to the spring-loaded handle. The bar automatically locks when the jaw closes around your king pin.
The double pivoting, cushioned head improves your towing experience dramatically by helping to reduce jarring and unwanted noise. Built-in pins allow the hitch head to pivot back and forth and side to side. And hookup is easy because the hitch head will automatically pivot to the proper angle when it comes into contact with your pin box.
Three polyurethane dampeners help to cushion the movement from the pivoting head and to reduce towing noise. Two of these dampeners are built into the head assembly to cushion the head's side-to-side pivoting. The third dampener cushions the back-and-forth motion and must be installed in the hitch prior to use. Installation of this third dampener is easy - simply press the dampener up into the pre-drilled hole underneath the hitch head.
This hitch is designed to attach to Demco SL Series above-bed rails (sold separately). To assemble the hitch, all you have to do is bolt on the side plates and attach the head to the hitch base. Then attach the base to the rails with the pull pins.

Nice hitch, works well. A couple of tight spots for placing nuts during installation but otherwise works as described.
William H - 10/26/2021I built a custom flatbed for my 2002 f250 and needed a fifth wheel hitch that is low profile to get my toy hauler level. This hitch was perfect for the job! I am pleased with its locking mechanism and there is no bucking or slap while on the highway. It allows me to unhitch at a ridiculous angle if needed! I just purchased a new 2019 F350 Dually and will absolutely buy a new Demco for that truck as well!
I was impressed by the customer service staff at Etrailer. Diana helped me with my order and went out of her way to price matched the competition, with free shipping. The 5th wheel hitch they sent me was what I wanted and shipping was amazingly fast(I ordered on a Tuesday and had everything by Friday). I am not usually one to write reviews but they deserve two thumbs up and an excellent review from me. I came to etrailer because I needed a "low profile" 5th wheel hitch. I scrubbed the internet and the closest I came to was a 18" rise. I found just what I needed made by Demco. The price was a little suspect considering even here the price was at least $250 cheaper than anything else on the eTrailer page. I live in Iowa and see Demco grain trailers all over the place and figured farmers don't generally buy the cheapest so what the heck. Before I pressed the "Pay" button I looked at the Demco website, saw they were located in Iowa and gave them a call. I talked with a rep. who said the company bought the hitch line a few years ago from a Canadian company and that they were selling well. When I told them the price from etrailer he said "Buy, you won't find it cheaper at any of our distributors" So back to the "Pay" button. Then it got weird.
Later that day a young lady called me from etrailer to inform me that the item was "out of stock" and did I want to wait, choose something else or get my $ back. I told her that I couldn't beat their deal so I said I'll wait, she said "OK it should ship in two-three weeks". I told her don't ship anything until you can ship the hitch and the rails. Next morning, I got an email, "Your order has shipped" Wait what . . . ?
At that point I jump on the phone and called etrailer's 800 number. Another rep says "can I help you?" I said how do you bend time? she pulled up my order and says "Oh I see what happened, another person had ordered the same hitch and also told them not to ship an incomplete order also" This guy was waiting for something to be completed in June and they reordered the hitch and he would get his whole order also. Cool huh? I love that kind of flexibility in business. Lastly shipping. My product probably came in at 130+ pounds. Everyone else wanted more than $100.00 for shipping, mine was FREE. I would say I saved about $300.00 by buying at etrailer. With a great money back policy you really don't have anything to lose.

The hitch works great. I use it to pull a 17500 Lb. 5th wheel. It was easy to install and when I need to use my truck to haul something else the hitch is every easy to remove.
I CALLED ON FRIDAY AFTER NOON AND TALKED TO ADRIANNA H ORDERED A DEMCO 5TH WHEEL HITCH AND RAILS MY ORDER SHIPPED THAT DAY AND WAS IN PEORIA IL ON MONDAY
I received my order ahead of schedule and in good condition. Installed hitch and it is working as described. I will order from etrailer again.

This product showed up damaged and missing parts. I sent etrailer an email exhaling as such and that now this item is worthless to me and had to hire someone to tow my gooseneck trailer. That email was ignored of course and instead I receive this email from Carol asking me to review the product. Well when it shows up and the box is ripped open and parts are missing it is not very effective. Worst customer service EVER!!! Wasted money having it express shipped.

Order the hitch on Saturday night and all 4 packages arrived right on time Thursday afternoon. I felt this hitch was a good compromise between cost and function. I was looking for a sliding hitch that had a clean look but couldn't justify the auto sliding ones. This hitch fit the bill perfectly.
