Secure, Interlocking Two-Piece Jaw

A20 Two-Piece Interlocking JawA20 Two-Piece Interlocking Jaw

Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, interlocking, two-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Three-Point Indicator System

A20 Color Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Purchased the Curt 25 A. 25,000 lb capacity with articulating head. I pull an 18,000 lb 5th wheel camper with a 3500 diesel dually. There is lots of movement when braking and start of pull after a full and normal stop. I would not buy the articulating model again. The product seems to be well built just too much front to rear movement in the head. 809355

This fifth wheel is very noisy and a loose connection. I would not recommend it. 740194

Great Hitch. I haven't used it to pull yet but it's heavier and seems more sturdy than the Reese I replaced. I also like the interlocking jaws. Many time hitching with the reese I'd have to use a flashlight to see that the jaws were closed but not any more. I'll update once I pull the camper with it. 738690

I was happy with the transaction with etrailer. The website was very helpful in finding what I needed. The product was received ahead of the committed date. The only problem was with the packaging. Some of the boxes were pretty beat-up and the parts were scratched with the finish damaged. That was a little disappointing. 721445

Took me a month, but I finally got the Curt A25 fifth wheel hitch in my truck and took it for nearly 150 mile trip to see how it would work. My wife and I both were amazed at how quiet and the bouncing, snapping, popping and cussing were all gone. This hitch is absolutely amazing. Before, when I just pulled out of my driveway, the old fifth wheel would snap and pop loudly several times. It was so quiet with the Curt A25 (new one), both of us looked at each other and looked back to see if the trailer was moving with us. (It was) Thank you to Curt for building it so well and to all of the people at etrailer that recommended it and ensuring it was all right. 694140

I have pulled a 16,000 lbs 5th wheel over 13,000 miles with this hitch and no issues. It arrived with the package damaged and the handle bent. Etrailer quickly replaced the part. The base will rust if not covered. If you remain hooked up for an over night stay, you will need to lower your jacks to stabilize and prevent rocking do to the hitch’s design. Great product. 691153

Had a Pullrite Superglide in my old F350 standard bed but when I upgraded to the 8ft bed of the dually, I went with this hitch. Hitch came in 2 boxes and although the boxes worked banged up a bit, everything was there and fine. It only took about 30 minutes to bolt everything together and install on the rails that were already in the truck. I actually had to take the hitch apart once to adjust the hitch up a little. I wanted it as high as possible in the bed, while still clearing the Roll N Lock retractable bed cover. Looks good, seems solid and well made. Hitch head comes off to make it easier to remove this hitch, but even with the head connected, I am able to move the hitch in the truck (would need to take head off for me to lift the hitch out of the truck). Also installed a BedRug at the same time to clean up the bed. 579604

Review from a similar A25 in Fifth Wheel Hitch

This is my first run-in with a fifth wheel, so I spent a lot of time researching as many of the aspects as I could. I knew I didn't want to mount bed rails, so the truck was outfitted with the factory in-bed mounts. That allowed the use of this hitch. Using this setup allows for a clear bed floor by merely unpinning and swiveling the four locks on the leg's ends, then lifting the whole mess up and away. It arrived in two separate boxes: good thing, it's heavy! Knowing that, the individual pieces were placed in the bed where it could be assembled closer to its landing place. The instructions were very clear, and, before we knew it, we had the mount dropped into place. Connecting to the trailer couldn't be easier. With the lever forward and the yellow dot showing through the status port in front, the truck slides back into place with a satisfying "chunk" as the hitch latches on. Drop the safety pin into the latch, make your connects, give one final tug with the tow vehicle so you know the hitch is properly latched, and off you go! Thanks, etrailer! 767389

The hitch is exactly what I was wanting... even though it is heavy, it was easy to assemble and adjust to the truck bed pucks. I will be trying it out in the next week when I hook up to the 5th wheel. 717068

Review from a similar A25 in Fifth Wheel Hitch

Please note this review is for receiving and installing the A25 hitch. I will update this review when I have a few trips under my belt on how it performs. First, as others have mentioned, the box that housed the legs was in poor shape and was heavily taped to keep in intact. It even had a hole in one end but the legs were in excellent shape, except for a little scrape paint on the edge of one of the legs. Not a big deal and a little black paint will keep the rust away. The other carton contained the hitch head and support beam. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you it had 48 staples. 38 in the top and 5 more on the two long sides. When I removed the staples on the two long flaps each of the inside flaps had 6 staples each. Talk about over kill! A good pair of lineman's pliers is a must for removing 48 staples. Once I was able to open the hitch box, the contents were in excellent condition with no scrapes or blemishes to the painted parts. A word of warning: This hitch is heavy! I've read somewhere this hitch, fully assembled weighs around 170 pounds so beware. Putting it together is simple. Four bolts and two screws for the handle and it's done. The manual explains installation for legs used with rails. My setup was for the GM puck system. The only difference I could see you don't use the lock nuts and there are no guide pins on the support beam. The 14mm bolt heads will take a 13/16 socket/wrench and if you use the lock nuts they take a 22mm wrench/socket. I don't understand why a U. S. made product mixes Metric and English fittings. Summary: This is a heavy product, well built, with easy to understand instructions. Simple installation and adjustments. The only negative (for me anyway) is once you open the jaws, you can't close them with the handle. The only way I see is to push the jaws in as would happen when hitching. Since they are spring loaded they will snap close with authority when engaged. I'm going to use an one inch wooded dowel to close the jaws as I prefer them being closed when not in use. 502000

I have always had pretty good luck w Curt products! Product was was as described easy to install. Def heavy duty. Other posts were same, meaning boxes sustained heavy damage, but product inside was in great shape. Few scratches but no gonna change my review. Etrailer did price match so saved me some cash. Haven't pulled with it yet, just moved 40 ft camper around. May update later. 635841

Review from a similar A25 in Fifth Wheel Hitch

This 5th wheel hitch is AWESOME!!! It was as easy as the video to assemble and install. I put it together in the living room watching to Olympics. It is easy to install in the factory RAM puck system. You should use a buddy, it is a little heavy. It took about 30 to 40 minutes to put together and another 15 minutes to install and torque all the bolts to specs. 479288

Review from a similar A25 in Fifth Wheel Hitch

I haven't used the hitch yet, but while installing it I noticed: 1) the 4 bolts which connect the hitch head to its legs, or base boxes, are a smaller diameter than the 8 bolts that hold the pin box onto my 40' 5th wheel trailer, and 2) when mounting the legs into the 5th wheel prep package on my 2019 F350, I found that a snug adjustment is not possible, because of one or both of these design choices: a) coarse thread bolts are used here (vs. fine thread), and/or b) there is only one hole through each of the 4 base mounting bolts for the cotter pin to go through, so the castle nuts can only be made tighter or looser by turning the nut 1/6th of a revolution. This means that when you lock the hitch down by rotating the handles 90 degrees, that the locked-in position either feels too loose or too tight because 1/6th of a revolution of the nut is too much. If these bolts had a 2nd hole in them (or were fine thread) that would allow a 1/12th of a nut rotation adjustment. Smaller nut height adjustment would also mean a much greater potential of being able to adjust the locking levers to a firm pressure setting. 638805

My experience with etrailer was amazing. They helped me pick out the proper 5th wheel for my needs. RAM 3500 8’ bed dually! The product shipped and arrived earlier than I expected. For your 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Dually with the factory prep package, you are actually going to want to use the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package part # C16066, not the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16180 which is for above bed base rails that you don't have. You will need above-bed rails to do so, and since you have the RamBoxes, a Sidewinder is required as well in order to obtain the needed clearance so the pin box does not hit the RamBoxes. For a 5th wheel hitch you'll need one compatible with a Sidewinder, and for a hitch and base rails I...

  • Recommendation Between Curt A25 and Q25 for 5th Wheel Towing with a 2020 GMC Sierra 3500
Congrats on the new vehicle purchase! The main differences between the A25 # C16180 and Q25 # C16265 are that the A25 has a fully articulating torsion head and a 2-jaw system that overlaps while the Q25 had a spherical axial bearing for 360 degree head movement and an older 2-jaw system where there is a little space between the jaws. I recommend going with the A25 as it is the upgraded Q25 and the overlapping jaws provide a much more secure connection to the king pin. Please note that...

The correct Curt rail kit you need for your 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 long bed without the OEM rail kit is the part # C16429-204 so that you can install a Curt hitch like the very well designed A20 part # C16140 which has more capacity than you'd need and has the best jaw design Curt has come up with which gives you a quiet and very secure ride quality. These two part numbers would be all that you'd need.

  • Comparing Goose Box to 5th Wheel Pin Box and Hitch Regarding Articulation and Capacity
The Reese Goose Box # RP94720 has an integrated air back and shock system that will help on rough terrain. It works very much the same as some pin boxes like the Trailair Flex Air- 21,000 lbs # RP94720 . The issue you will find is that your trailer weight given is greater than the pin boxes we carry. The Goose Box is only rated for 20K and our pin boxes max at 21K. For the capacity you are seeking, I recommend the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch- 25,000 lbs # C16180 which has a...

  • American Made Fifth Wheel Hitch
We carry hitches that were made in America, though the Reese # RP30033 is not. I recommend checking out the Curt A25 # C16180, which is made in the USA, has a 25,000 lb capacity, offers full 360 degree king pin contact, and has an articulating head to make hooking up your trailer an easier process. It fits in standard above-bed base rails also features a handy 3-color indicator system which easily lets you know when you're ready to hook up, tow, or uncouple.

  • Differences Between Curt A25 C16180 and Q25 C16265 5th Wheel Hitches
The hitch jaws that grip the 5th wheel's king pin and the suspension system (for the lack of a better term) for the hitch head are the main differences between the A25 and the Q25. The A25 like the # C16180 uses an interlocking jaw system that does a better job of holding the king pin tightly, making contact with the king pin all around its 360° circumference. This leads to less rattling and banging which makes for a more comfortable ride. The A25 use a torsion dampening system in the...

  • Recommended Custom Fit Base Rails and 25K 5th Wheel Hitch on 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500
For your 2020 Silverado 2500, if you don't have the factory pucks then I recommend the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC Truck - Carbide Finish # C16429-204 which are the custom fit for your truck. If you install it yourself it will take about 80 minutes, and if you have a professional install it will take about 40 minutes. If you don't know the weight of your trailer or think you may upgrade in size at some point, I recommend going with the 25K. Most trailers...

  • 5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ram 2500 Short Bed and Turning Point Pin Box
Like a Sidewinder, the Turning Point Pin Box has a rotating turret so the pivot point is no longer at the king pin in the hitch, it is 22 inches rearward; because of this it is strongly recommended that you use a fixed fifth wheel hitch. Using the slider would mean the trailer's weight would be pushed too far behind the axle of your truck as opposed to being over the axle or just forward of it, which can put added stress on the truck, hitch, and trailer. For a hitch I highly recommend...

  • Recommended Fifth Wheel Brackets and Fifth Wheel Hitch for 2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty Dually
There are custom fifth wheel installation kits that fit your 2004 Ford F-350 dually but the Installation Kit # C16448-104 you referenced does NOT fit; this kit is only for 2005-2011 Ford Super Duty trucks. Instead I recommend the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Ford F250 and F350 # C16443-204, which does fit your F-350, because the custom fit will lessen the amount of drilling and time it takes to install the brackets compared to universal installation kits. If you are...

  • 5th Wheel and Conventional Towing Weight Capacities for 2018 Ram 3500
The 2018 Ram 3500 with Cummins Diesel is dependent on the axle ratio, the cab, and the box length. I've attached the chart to assist with each of these. The number in the parenthesis for each of them is the 5th wheel towing capacity and the other number is for the trailer hitch receiver below the bumper. If you are looking for a trailer hitch receiver, I have linked the page to your options to assist. Assuming you are looking for 5th wheel components, if you have the factory tow...
