No, if you:
Have a trailer with a rotating pin box, such as the Reese Sidewinder, Reese Revolution, or 5th Airborne Sidewinder
Carry cargo in your truck bed often and need a hitch that's easy to move

Secure, 2-Piece Jaw
Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.
3-Point Indicator System
Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).
360-Degree Pivot
Curt's unique spherical axial bearing provides a durable pivot point that allows easy, 360-degree movement of the hitch head. This ball joint is designed for smooth, quiet operation with less clunking and chucking.
Non-Binding Slider
Most often used on trucks with 6' and 6-1/2' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.
The round-tube design of this slider allows for relatively uninhibited movement of your fifth-wheel hitch. Because your hitch can glide smoothly and easily along the rods, there is less chance of binding.
With straight, flat contact points, as found with square-tube sliders, tension can build between the slider and the hitch when your truck and trailer are somewhat out of line or are on uneven ground. As a result, it can be difficult to properly activate the slider when your truck and trailer are not in a straight line.
With a round-tube slider, there is more give between the contacting surfaces, allowing better mobility of the hitch system. Fewer corners means less tension buildup. Activating a round-tube slider is easier, and operation as a whole is smoother.

2012 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty
I was pretty concerned because of some of the negative ratings regarding the shape that the package arrived. I am pleased to say that it arrive on the pallet in perfect shape , the boxes were not even scratched or dented. The hitch assembly was pretty straight forward however I did use Loctite on the allen screws and any other bolts that did not come with lock washers. Now for the performance of the hitch , I pulled my 38 foot toy hauler for the first time and it performed flawlessly. there was no chucking noises , or excessive bucking at all . The sliding feature was smooth and easy to operate , which is why I upgraded to this hitch in the first place .1218549

2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty
A great price shipped fast via freight. No issues with broken boxes as many others have mentioned. First fifth wheel for me, assembly and install into the factory Ford pucks was amazingly easy. Do not know for certain if the slider will be necessary for our new Arctic Wolf camper. We may swap out for stationary legs if we can get away with it. I love etrailer!959250
After watching a YouTube video, assembly wasn't a problem. Hitch seems ok, haven't used it enough yet. The one problem I Have at this time is the Curt decal on the hitch head was installed crooked . It looks like a kid put it on. If I can't get another one I'll tear that one off and repaint if needed634939
Pros: I've been using this hitch for about a year to tow my 5th wheel, and I've probably hooked up to it about 20 times. It's a really great hitch, easy to work, and I really like the color coded features (red, yellow, and green) that show when the hitch is connected or not and ready to tow. I haven't used the slider so I can't comment on that other than it appears to be easy enough to use. I LOVE the puck system to install it in the bed of the truck.
As far as etrailer, they are great! They asked some questions to help me determine my needs, and then they provided a number of possible hitches. They were great about answering any questions I had. I've purchased several things from them in the past, and I HIGHLY recommend etrailer!!!
Cons: There were a few places in the installation documentation that could have been easier to decipher. There were several videos online showing how the product works, but I couldn't find anything showing how to put it together. This would have been extremely helpful. Also, CURT claims this is a two man lift and can be easily removed from the truck. NOT TRUE! This thing is HEAVY, but it's supposed to be. Unless you have a piece of equipment to help lift it you should plan on leaving it installed.482315

I apologize for the delayed response. I think Ive had the hitch for about two years now, and I use it to tow a fifth wheel RV quite a lot throughout the year with my Ford F-250. Its been a great hitch and is really easy to use. Probably the best part about it is that it uses the in-bed puck system. I have no regrets on this purchase.

Works great! Didn’t need the slider like I thought I would, but have found it makes it much safer when hooking up with the extra clearance between tailgate and camper.

The more I use the hitch the better it works. Initially it was hard to hitch and unhitch. I have found it to work better when you get your height correct for hooking up. Slider is really good for tight spots I wouldnt chance damage to my truck or RV. It is heavy one should make sure you have a way of removing and installing it with some type of lift.

I have not unboxed the hitch yet, but with a quick look because of a little damage to the corners of the boxes, everything seems good.
I plan on using the sliding hitch in a 2019 F-350 short bed. Hopefully after all the reviews and information put out by etrailer the usage should be great.
The experience with etrailer has been remarkable.783482

I have not pulled with it yet, but seems to be pretty well built. My only complaint is the difficulty in assembly. Mounting the turret to the slider is definitely a two man job at the minimum. 822164

Review from a similar Q20 in Fifth Wheel Hitch
Couldn't give it anymore stars after I took the hitch out of the box and it was all scratched up. Always good when you spend xxx on a hitch to receive it in that condition1244226
I purchased the Curt Q20 5th wheel hitch to tow a Cedar Creek Champagne with a 2016 Ram 3500 DRW. This hitch is easy to install with and easy to operate. I put it together in about an hour with one other person. I have towed about 2400 miles with it over the past few months and haven’t had any problems or noticeable wear. Don’t forget to retorque your bolts when you are supposed to!1203507
Heavy duty!... pretty easy setup. Not the best instructions, but anyone with half decent mechanical ability can figure it out. You have to take the head off to torque the slider rails.873111
One year later… still going strong. Been up and down the east coast, from bar harbor, maine to key west, Florida… solid hitch here

Review from a similar Q20 in Fifth Wheel Hitch
Just installed yesterday Aug. 14; received it On the 13th. Reasonable delivery time. I had some minor frustrations while installing but nothing that was too difficult. Anyone that is the DIY type should have no problem installing a hitch of this type. I am a healthy 71 and with head removed can handle the removal of unit without too much trouble. It will be removed quite often so we can load our ATV in the PU bed at our remote camping sites. Seems like a strong unit. Hope to head out with our trailer next week. And test it out. Ours is a 13K toyhauler so hitch should handle it well.862870
As long as your 2016 Ford F-250 came with the factory puck package (or rail kit as it is also known) then the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package # C16530-16020 will fit and work well for you.
This 5th wheel hitch has a Gross Towing Weight (GTW) of 20,000 lbs and can slide front to back 12 inches to give you extra clearance so that you do not hit the cab on your F-250. view full answer...

It may not make contact with the bed at all points due to the corrugations in the bed. I have included a link to a video review of this hitch for you.

No, 5th wheel trailer connections do not require safety chains. Consumer 5th wheel applications connect to the truck the same way that big rigs connect to trailers and this is considered a secure enough connection to not require safety chains. Yes the Curt Q20 5th wheel trailer hitch # C16530-16020 is a direct fit to the factory prep puck system in the 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks.
Regarding the depth of the bed I assume you mean the height of the bed sides. The hitch is height adjustable from 17 to 21 inches measured from the top of bed corrugations to the top of the hitch. Also many 5th wheel pin boxes can be moved up and down where they mount for more adjustability.

Unhooking with a 15 degree pivot is not something that any 5th wheel hitch can handle that I am aware of. That degree of tilt would make most people nervous unhooking.
The Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package # C16530-16020 you asked from has a side to side tilting degree of 7-1/2 to 10 degrees max according to my contact at Curt Technical. Yes, we do carry versions of the Curt Q20 that are able to fit right into the factory puck system in your 2018 Ford F-350. The fixed hitch, part # C16530-16017, is for long bed trucks or the sliding hitch, part # C16530-16020, is for short bed trucks. The slider helps with turning clearance to keep the trailer from hitting the Ford's cab. This isn't always needed if the trailer is equipped with a rotating pin box like the Reese Revolution or Sidewinder.

There are sliding hitches that fit into the puck system of your 2017 Ford F-250, they are simply labeled as having below bed rails. It fits will drop into your puck system and has a rail-free design so you can take it out for full bed access at any point. The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM8550024 is a bit heavier than both the Curt models at 289 pounds. All of these sliding 5th wheel hitches are confirmed to fit the factory rail kit on the 2017 Ford F-350 with a 6-3/4 foot bed.

That is an interesting question but the answer is yes. Reese makes the Ford hitch prep packages and they are essentially a rebranded Elite rails system. If you have a short-bed F-350 you will need to use a sliding type 5th wheel hitch to have enough turning clearance.
