Video Transcript for Mighty Cord Indoor Outdoor Extension Cord with Indicator Lights Review

Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the mighty cord 15 amp 50 inches long RV extension cord. Now guys, this is gonna be an awesome little way of going ahead and giving yourself an extension to your power cord setup. So, primarily this is going to be excellent if you're trying to get ahead and giving yourself an extension for your actual power supply to your RV or camper. Now, this is only a 15 amp cord, so it's not really going to pack a lot of electricity for yourself. And of course, that kind of lowers that capability.

So if you do have a really big rig, and if you're looking for a way of running your AC and that fridge and a whole bunch of other accessories, you are going to need to go ahead and grab yourself a bigger cord. What this guy's gonna be great for, for some of your more smaller appliances. Now if you're looking for like a fifth wheel or anything, definitely not going to be able to handle this big ACs. However, it is kind of fitting right in line to go ahead and start kind of actually getting your refrigerator up and running. And so this is going to be excellent, if you find yourself at a campsite and it doesn't have your traditional power hookups and you want something to run the lights and some of your smaller appliances in your RV or camper, or secondly, just to go ahead and actually give yourself a way of hooking this up, maybe at home and starting to get your refrigerator kind of cooled off before you head out of your trip.

So, definitely gonna be great for your smaller capability and kind of your more, less serious draws that you're gonna have on your RV hookup. Let's go ahead and see how we can get this used. As you guys can see, 50 feet can be plenty for what you need. Isn't going to have no trouble reach around those fifth wheels for any other camper you might have. So this being 15 amps, you guys are going to be probably pretty familiar here with these prongs.

So we're not going to have any of those dryer like looking hookups, nothing going to be too crazy here. All we're going to need is going to be, of course, your, your standard 12 volt hookup to go ahead and plug most of your standard outlets at home are going to be able do this. So that's going to be great, right If you wanna go ahead and plug this in the garage and start kinda getting our, our, our refrigerator working in the RV or camper. And let's go ahead and plug it in and start seeing what these little lights on the inside can actually do for ourselves. So it might be a little hard to see here in the sun, but you actually see that little orange light in there letting us know that we have power.

That's excellent. Lets you know that your hookup is correct, and you actually are getting power to the system, which is great. So all we have to do plug it in and we know we're good to go. And if we don't have any connectivity to the inside, we know we have a bigger problem than just our cord. Now, the one thing also to keep in mind with this guy, this is only a 15 amp cord. So we have a 30 amp hookup here today for our trailer. So we don't actually have to use the full use of that. We've gone ahead and grabbed ourselves a 30 to 15 amp adapter. Now these electrical adapters are also available at etrailer.com in a variety of different styles and sizes. So go ahead and grab the one that's best going to suit your trailer needs. Then we can simply just take this guy, place it on. And just like we normally would, we hooked it up. And as you guys can see, we're getting power to our system here. Some of these dog bones have nice little indicator lights, always nice to know what's working and what's not. We can go ahead and see how our lights are doing with it all plugged in. Well guys, as you can see, we've got power now, which is great. The only thing to keep in mind, right We are kind of reducing our voltage from that 30 amp to the 15. So we're only gonna have about 1850 Watts or so actually coming in. So that is going to reduce the output you're getting. So keep in mind, you're probably not going to run all your full accessories. Now, if you can have a smaller pop-up trailer that is kind of situated to that 15 amp, you're going to see no change. However, if you are kind of down converting as we are here today, keep in mind, you are going to see a reduction in your capabilities from your power output. Well guys, like you could see, obviously this is gonna be great to go ahead and get that refrigerator charged up and ready to go before our trip. Secondly, it's also going to be nice to have this just ready to go if we are at a site that for some reason doesn't have the right hookup for ourselves, we're not going to be stranded without any power. It's always nice to go ahead and at least just have lights inside your RV it can go a long way of making your trip that much more comfortable. And thirdly, what's great about this, We don't actually have to just keep it on your power supply cord, right It's going to work great as just a normal extension cord. So if you do have any hookups, maybe on your fifth wheel, even this could be a nice little pickup. Just go ahead and grab one of these guys. I know they're integral to us to go ahead and get our electric skillets on the outside, our fans, whatever you might need. Just great to go ahead and actually get the extension you need to go ahead and get your power where you want it. Well guys, overall definitely be a nice little cord for yourself. I always liked these little indicator lights. They're great to let me know I actually have the power coming to this end. Sometimes it's a pain to go ahead and troubleshoot exactly what's going wrong with those electric devices, so I do like that. And of course, it's going to be durable. You guys can see that cord isn't going to be fraying anytime soon, gonna be holding up. Yellow is always great for the outdoor weathers too. It just doesn't seem to take in the sun too much. Won't be fade, fading or kind of cracking any time soon, which is definitely great. And we definitely want this to last us for the seasons to come. Well guys, I think that that about does it for our look at the mighty cord, 15 amp 50 foot extension cord here at etrailer.com. I'm Bobby. Thank you for watching..
