MagnaFlow Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust System - Gas - 2000 Ford Ranger

This cat-back exhaust system improves engine performance and durability by boosting horsepower and torque. Its technologically advanced, Mandrel bent tubing and straight-through muffler allow the exhaust to flow more freely through the system.

Features:

  • Improves engine performance by increasing horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency and decreasing exhaust gas temperature
    • Mandrel bent tubes allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter through every curve
      • Unrestricted airflow decreases back pressure ("exhaust turbulence")
    • Straight-through muffler has a stainless steel perforated core that runs straight through, end to end
      • Layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts
      • Contains no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow
  • Signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle but quiet inside the Ford Ranger
  • All materials made with 100% stainless steel
  • Clamps and hangers included for installation
  • Lifetime warranty

Specs:

  • Tubing diameter: 2-1/2"
  • Muffler dimensions: 5" tall x 8" wide x 18" long
  • Tailpipe diameter: 2-1/2"
  • Tip diameter: 3-1/2"
  • Number of tips included: 1
  • Single exhaust system
  • Rear side exit position

The cat-back system is the portion of the exhaust system from the outlet of the catalytic converter to the tailpipe. MagnaFlow systems have Mandrel bent tubes that allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter throughout every curve. This curvature leads to decreased back pressure.

MagnaFlow mufflers have a stainless steel perforated core that runs straight through the muffler, end to end, with no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow. A layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts.

Together, the Mandrel bent tubes and straight-through muffler increase horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency and decrease exhaust gas temperature. MagnaFlow's signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle but quiet inside Ford Rangers. All materials are made with 100 percent stainless steel. Clamps and hangers are included for installation. It includes a lifetime warranty.

Video Transcript for MagnaFlow Exhaust Installation - 2001 Ford Ranger

Today on this 2001 Ford Ranger we are going to install part number MF15679 from MagnaFlow. The first thing we are going to do to get ready is go ahead and move the spare tire. You do not have to do that but it makes things a lot easier to get to and see. The next thing we are going to do is spray down the bolts going towards the catalytic converter. Let it sit for awhile and we will go ahead and loosen them up. And also, you will notice, this is not the original factory connection going to the catalytic converter too. This is actually another aftermarket exhaust. We will leave that set for now. Now we will go back to the rest of the exhaust and remove all of the rubber hangers. Just spray them down with some lubricant also and pull them apart. Alright, we will just push it to one side and pull it out. And then we will pull out the other side. You should be able to pull it all out as one piece. 0:56

Let us start off by installing the muffler on to the hangers. Let us do our preassembly on our extension pipe. First off, this ring right here goes around the exhaust and clamps it to the catalytic converter. Make sure it fits into the bevel right here. Now remember, the original factory hardware would fit in these holes here. In our case, we are going to have to come up with something a little bit different to attach everything together. We will go ahead and slide on our clamp as well. Now we will go ahead and slide the extension pipe into the muffler and then attach the other half to our catalytic converter. Alright, now we are intentionally leaving this loose so we have some flexibility so we can route the pipe the way we want it. Make sure that it seats good on to the catalytic converter so we have plenty of room around the frame components. Now we will take our clamp and slide it on to the muffler. Make any adjustments. 1:52

Now let us go ahead to the other side of the muffler and install the tailpipe. Slide on the rear hanger. With everything in place, let us go ahead and start snugging everything down and adjust it as we need to just to be on the safe side. Now we will go ahead and torque down the bolts as specified in the instructions. With that that will finish our install of part number MF15679 from MagnaFlow.
