SAE Class II lights are intended for use on authorized maintenance and service vehicles. These lights serve as a warning signal to alert drivers and pedestrians of traffic hazards, such as a slow-moving vehicle. They are primarily used for service vehicles that are moving more slowly than the flow of traffic, such as a tow truck.
Installation
To wire this strobe warning beacon for a double flash, connect the red wire to a power source. To wire the light for a quad flash, connect both the red and purple wires to a power source.

Today, we'll be having a look at the Kuster amber 00:00:04 strobe warning light. It's a xenon bolt with a double or a quad flash pattern. It's part number STR10-12JP. We have it on the quad flash pattern right now. Let's go over some of the features here real quick before I show you what the double flash pattern looks like. This SAE class two light is approved for moving applications.
The poly-carbonate lens, and the sealed housing of the system, gives us a nice, weatherproof assembly, so we don't have to worry about moisture, dirt, or corrosion forming inside, and causing damage to our light assembly. It'll last many years down the road for us. The xenon gas discharge bulb in it is highly efficient and long lasting. As you can see, it's clearly visible, even on the sunniest of days. This light is ideal for towing, plowing, transportation, warehouse, and agricultural applications. Now, for some dimensions, to give you an idea how big the light is to see if it'll work for your particular application, the base is 5-1/4 inches wide, and the entire light assembly is 5 inches tall.
Now that we've shown you the quad flash during the daylight, we'll show it to you at night. As you can see, it's super bright, and has a very distinct pattern, so it'll immediately grab the attention of anybody that sees it, even from great distances. It'll help prevent any hazardous situations from occurring. Now that we've shown you the quad pattern in day and night, we'll show you the double flash pattern here now. As you can see, it is still easily noticed, it just doesn't have quite as long of a flash pattern as the quad flash. Now, we'll show you the double flash pattern at night.
As you can see, still very noticeable and still very bright, again, just a shorter pattern. Now, this light is intended for a permanent mount installation, and as you can see, we have it on our forklift here, secured with the included screws, and it's nice, secure, and solid mount. Also, it comes with this gasket here, you can see the outline for the three screws right there. In the middle, you have a place for a grommet, for your wires, or out here towards the side where it comes out. It comes with the three screws to secure it down. It also comes with some lock start washers here, and three nuts to hold it in place.
You also get a nice grommet here, so when you're mounting this on the roof of an actual vehicle that has a flat roof and not like a roll bar surface like our forklift here, what you can do is drill a hole for the wires, install the grommet, pass the wires through, and use this foam gasket to seal it in, that way you don't have to worry about any water getting into your vehicle at all. We don't need this for our particular application, since we're doing it on a forklift here, and we have a completely open roof. We didn't need to use this. Now, this light is a little bit different than some other strobe lights out there, since you can change the pattern on it. We have three wires. We have our standard black here for ground, a red wire is our power, or positive wire. Now, this third wire, the purple one here, if you we're to hook this up with the red wire, to the positive or your power source, you will get the quad flash pattern going. If you don't have the purple wire hooked up, you get the standard double flash pattern. That completes our look at the Kuster amber strobe warning light, part number STR10-12JPP.
