Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com.Today we're going to be taking a look at the Buyers Signal Light. Now this light has 12 LEDs and 12 flash patterns to help make sure you stay within compliance. Has a six and three quarter inch base and it's going to be six and five eights of an inch tall. This is one of the taller lights that we've been demoing here. This can be attached permanently to any vehicle surface. We're using it on our beacon light mount from Cab Guard. This is going to help out in those situations, whether it's construction work, road work, security, around lots of things like that.
Even into mining or agriculture, to give you the lighting that you're required to have to make sure you stay within compliance. Now the light base and housing itself, it'd be really nice and durable. We've got an ABS plastic down here, same here, even here. Not a lot of flex or give to us. I think this is going to last a very long time. Just to help make sure it's going to meet your regulations or what you're looking for out of a light.
It is SAE J845 class one compliant and it's also CA13 compliant. That should get you by most of the standards out there. Now, this light is going to work with your 12 and 24 volt systems, regardless of your trucks set up, you're good to go there. I like this light a lot for permanent mount situations. I like the LEDs are going to be much brighter and they're going to last a lot longer, not going to have to worry about trying to get inside and replace bulbs and stuff. If you're looking for more of a temporary situation, if this isn't going to be on your work vehicle forever, if you just need it occasionally, we also have one, that's a magnetic mount. It's not quite this large but it's a magnetic mount.
Instead of in this case, we need to run our switch, we need to get it up in there either to get it connected to 12 volt power and be able to switch it. It's just going to have a fixed flash, very similar to this and it actually has a 12 volt outlet plug in. You simply plug that into a 12 volt power source and flip the switch. Temporary use, I think that's a better option if you just need a basic flash but for permanent use and more heavy duty industrial situations I think this is definitely going to be the way to go.Now to mount our light, you'll have several options, of course. This can be permanently mounted right up to the top of the truck.
We're using the Cab Guard beacon light mount here for our demonstration. These can also be mounted on the one inch pole too. If you already have wiring that comes up and you have a bulb that sticks up, this can easily be threaded right down on top of that. I like that it gives us plenty of options. We're also going to have options for routing our wiring. You see there's a little gateway there for it to come around. That way when you're setting it on a flat surface you don't have to worry about pinching them. Or we can just simply run it down through our beacon mount like this. If you're doing a pole, you'll run it down through there. Then we're going to take the provided stainless steel hardware, place it down through each of our three holes here. Now I'm using a larger flat washer there. These holes are a little elongated on our mount. Just to make sure that serrated washer has something to connect to. We'll put a flat washer on which doesn't come with it, serrated washer and nut, which does come with it, thread that on and get it started. We'll do the other two and get them tightened down. Now to do the wiring portion of it we're going to use the Buyers switch. This gives us an on/off. Then it also gives us the momentary so we can switch that beam pattern or switch the light patterns. You can see it's pretty much designed exactly for this application. We've got the red, the black and the yellow we've got coming off our lights. We're just going to use butt connectors, connect those directly together. Now we'll use a heat source to get these shrank down. We can use a heat gun, which we're going to be using. You could also use a mini torch, you could use a lighter. The trick is just not to overheat them or melt them. Now, at that point, our connections are made. We can run our switch to power or if you're running it off an already existing switch that you have connected to power and the lights ready to go. I like to take a piece of wire loom now and clean this up a little bit. What I'm going to do is take my tape. We'll go right up to where the wires come out of my base here. I'm going give it two wraps. We'll take our loom, we'll place that around our wire, it's split on the side. Get it started pretty well. I'm going to take the gap that I have in that loom, I'm going to slide it up around the tape. The tape goes like that. Then we'll give it two more wraps around the outside of that. That'll hold our wire loom in place. Give it a nice appearance. We'll just tidy it up the rest of the way. Now, as far as when we work with customers, they have good things to say about these lights. Buyers products are known to last for a very long time. I think this will be something that you'll have and you'll be able to keep just about as long as you have your vehicle. Really outside of that, that's going to complete our look, the Buyers 12 LED, 12 flash pattern and beacon light..
