Speaker 1: Today we're talking a look at a 3-LED Beacon Light. This beacon light features three LEDs, and five flash patterns to keep your vehicle visible on the road. It's SAE J845 Class 2 certified, and carries an IPX5 rating. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, and overall they're just more efficient. With LEDs you don't ever have to worry about replacing bulbs, and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. This unit contains an amber lens with a black plastic base.
The plastic base does have three holes already in it. That's for a permanent mount installation, and then here in the center, it has a nice magnet for temporary mounting. It plugs into a standard 12 volt, or a 24 volt, accessory power outlet, so the voltage on the unit is 12 to 24 volts. And then on this plug, we have two switches. The one with the LED light is the on and off switch.
The other one allows you to switch or cycle between the flash patterns. When it comes to the dimensions of the light, starting with the overall diameter here at the base, it measures 6-5/8". Overall height, pretty close to 5", actually measures about 4-15/16". Again, it has five flash patterns to choose from, three LEDs, or three diodes. When it comes to the voltage, we're looking at 12 to 24 volts, and the amperage is .47 amps at 12 volts. We're going to go ahead and plug it into our power source, and I'll turn it on. Now I'll cycle through the flash patterns with the overhead lights on, and then I'll do the same with the overhead lights turned off.
So this is flash pattern one. Flash pattern two. Three. Four. And five.
And I'll hit it again, and we'll go back to the first one, and I'll turn the lights off. So we've got one. Two. Three. Four. And five. That's going to do it for today's look at the 3-LED Beacon Light.
