Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the Taylor Made Eco Blast Rechargeable Air Horn. Now, like most of your air horns, this is going to create a very loud audible distress signal so that others are aware that there is an emergency going on. It gives a 120 decibel signal, so it's very loud. It can be heard up to a mile away.

Stick around towards the end of the video. I will go ahead and let this off so you can hear just how loud it really is. But where this air horn sets itself apart from others is that it lets you refill it with the refill valve here at the bottom. So we're just going to pump it full of air and that's going to allow us to use the air horn as long as we need.So instead of having to buy replacement canisters of compressed air or chemicals that will allow it to make the noise, we can just keep reusing it as much as we need to. You can recharge it with most of your standard air compressors or bicycle pumps.

It will also work with the Taylor Made mini air pump. This is sold separately. You can find it using the part number that you see on the screen there. This is a very small air pump that will screw onto the bottom there and allow you to get that charged up. Very convenient if you don't need a whole lot of space to store this.

So you can either buy this separately individually or we also have the two, the air horn and the pump, kitted together so that you can get both of them using the part number that you see on the screen there.This does have a maximum air pressure of 150 psi, so you want to make sure that you're not exceeding that, but it will work even if you don't have that full amount of air pressure in there. To get this operational, I just did a few pumps with that mini air pump and it still cause lots of volume. So even if you don't fill it up to the full 150, it will work for you. One thing that's really nice about this style is that it's just filled with air. You're not going to have any chemicals inside, so when you let off the air horn, it's not going to release any harmful ozone-depleting gases into the air.

So it's going to be very environmentally friendly. You're not going to have to worry about where you store it because even if it's around heat sources, it's not going to combust. It doesn't have any of those combustible chemicals in it.It's also going to work in your extreme temperatures and severe weather conditions. You're just going to be able to make sure that it's all aired up and use it again and again and again. So it's really nice. I like this design a lot. It's going to be able to be used even if you have it in an upside down position, or basically any orientation it's going to work for you. And as you can see on the bottom we do have a plastic ring on the bottom. So rather than some of your other aerosol-type cans that have a metal ring on the bottom that can eventually cause a rust ring on your boat's surface, this is not going to cause any sort of a noticeable mark because it is just a plastic so it's going to do a good job for you.This is compliant with the U.S. Coast Guard requirements, so if you're out on your boat and you're in an emergency, this will work as a emergency signal. And as I promised, I am going to let this off so that you can hear it. Keep in mind, I do have a microphone on and that's probably going to limit how loud it actually gets so you won't get the full blast, but it is very loud. You should be able to tell that when I let this off. So be ready. It's going to come. It's going to be very loud. So there you have it. My ears are ringing. If it's not that loud in the video, it's very loud here. So it's going to do a good job of alerting others that there's an emergency situation and you need some help. And it's refillable.
