Heavy Duty Drop Down Hitch no problem pulling a 10,000# trailer

by:

It fits perfect on my f350 diesel, super heavy duty. I'll be using it for towing my car tilt bed trailer.

by:

Very happy with service, actually went beyond my expectations!

by:

We needed a hitch adapter for our Kubota RTV -900 to be able to pull a small trailer because the receiver was quite low to the ground. This was perfect!

This adapter has continued to work very well for pulling this small utility trailer with our RTV900. We can haul lots of firewood and limbs.

by:

I got hitch all setup and used it the last 2 days 8 inch [drop] its just what the truck and trailer needed. Got the trailer level now, instead of hitch being way to high. It pulls like a champ and is great. Ill be ordering some more things for my truck and trailer from you soon. Because you sell great products, honest customer service and fast delivery! Thank you so much a pleasure doing business with you.

by:

The strongest, heaviest 2" mount drop hitch I have seen. Moreover, etrailer had the best price, excellent service and communications, and extremely fast shipping. I received it within three days of ordering it!!! They are my "go to" seller for anything towing related!

by:

I got a lift kit put in my truck and needed a drop mount to make up the difference. First thing I noticed was the weight of this thing. Its solid steel. Extremely heavy duty. It has a 12,000 lb rating which is good because my trailer carries a GTW of 12,000 lbs and I wanted to make sure I was covered. All the other drop mounts were only 5000 lb ratings; my trailer's curb weight is 4400 lbs. I know the structural integrity is compromised when lengthening a mount so that's why I chose this one.
Great product, etrailer has great customer service too, thanks George!

by:

Very nice drop for hauling my car trailer. Looked at a lot of other places but could not find one this heavy duty. Fast shipping , great place, will order from here again

by:

It's exactly as described, I'm glad I bought it, I have a 12,500 lb horse trailer to pull and my F350 has a 6 inch lift and 37s, so I was searching hard for a drop that was still rated to 12k and this does the job perfectly

by:

I bought a much larger truck and my trailers would not hook up and pull level Just looking online I found this extended drop hook that was perfect. High rated. and built heavy. Very pleased

by:

Received it today. I have towed for all my life. Know quality when I see it. Solid metal, should get many yearS use out of this. 8 inch drop is perfect for my Dodge Ram 2500. My utility trailer sits perfect level. More than pleased with the quality.

by:

Hitch is great. The 8" drop on a 2017 Ram 4X4 with 6 inch lift kit is perfect.

by:

Very heavy duty, nice finish and great price.
The
sway control bracket didn’t fit this receiver but I will use to replace damaged unit on another receiver

by:

Ball mount MUCH stouter than the Reese that I forget to remove when I sold my old truck-solid square stock not square tubing. Ball as expected.

by:

Product is built to highest standards and certainly feels able to exceed its max towing mark.

Service from etrailer was phenomenal. Perfect Transaction!

Thanks.

by:

It's an amazing SOLID hitch I feel like it could tow an aircraft carrier! Good hitch to go with my cummins!

by:

Excellent Product, this is a beast the way it constructed. I installed it today on my truck, the drop is perfect for my lifted truck. Everything arrived on time and boxed nice. Customer service over the top each person I had contact with. Very pleased, will be ordering more items from them very soon.

by:

I love this solid bar, feels very good behind the wheel .. The drop was perfect for my Chevy Suburban 4x4, Thanks

by:

One stout ball mount. Would definitely purchase again. (or similar)

by:

This did the trick. It is tough to find drop hitches this low in stores around here.

by:

bought for a present, got here in 3 days with normal shipping

shipped the next day, 3 emails checking on the item

good people to deal with

by:

I pull a 4000 lb glider trailer with a motor home, and this gives me confidence that they stay connected.

by:

Extremely heavy duty and more hitch than I needed but worth it

by:

I bought 5 of each item on this list. The product arrived fast and it is exactly what I needed for the vehicles in my fleet. It is a very well made product and I am very happy with my purchases.

by:

Fast shipping, great customer service. Probably the best customer service I have encountered.

The quality supersedes any I have seen. I have pulled my trailer across the country with no worries and the hitch still looks brand new.

  • Measuring for Hitch Ball Mount When Using Tow Dolly Behind 2003 Honda Odyssey
When you consider using a tow dolly with your 2003 Honda Odyssey, you will want to keep in mind the towing capacity of your Odyssey is 3500 lbs. I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and they told me that you will want the hitch ball between 16 and 18 inches from the ground. this would provide enough clearance when you encounter dips in the road or curbs and driveways. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to select a ball mount. You will want to take this measurement...

  • Selecting a Ball Mount for a 2002 Ford F-250 On a 4 Inch Lift Kit
Ball mounts are typically ed based on the trailer height and vehicle hitch height. With a 4 inch lift on your truck you will certainly need a ball mount with a significant to it. I imagine you will need a 6 or 8 inch like part # 40332 for 6 inches, or part # 4283 for 8 inch. To find out exactly which size you need to keep your trailer level, you will need to take measurements of your trailer height and hitch height. I have included a link to a Ball Mount Selection page that will show...

  • Long Ball Mount with 8 Inch Drop for 2 Inch Trailer Hitch
The longest ball mount we have that has an 8 inch drop is cushioned ball mount # AMSC8. It measures 11-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. I have included a link to a video review of this ball mount for you.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation that is 14 inches Long and Has Drop of Up to 6 inches
The ball mount we have that would work well for you is the Curt ball mount part # D-28 which is 14-1/4 inches long and has a drop of 6 inches.

  • Recommended Ball Mount for 8 Inch Drop and 7,500 to 10,000 Capacity
The Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 7" Rise, 8" Drop - 9-1/2" Long - 12,000 lbs # 4283 is the closest we have to what you are looking for in a fixed mount. It has an 8 inch drop, 12K capacity, 1-1/4 inch hitch ball hole diameter, and 7/8 inch thick mount. The smaller diameter holes and thinner mount will leave you with only a 5K capacity. For a 2 inch ball, I recommend # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # A-6. Let me know if you have questions or need a recommendation for that 5K...

  • Availability of a Hitch Drawbar with a 10 Inch Drop and 1-1/4 Inch Shank
The 1-1/4 inch shank drawbar that we carry with the deepest drop is the Brophy Class II Drawbar 5-1/2 inch Rise or 6 inch Drop, item # BM96. This drawbar is only designed for use in Class II rated hitches. At this time we do not carry a 1-1/4 inch shank Drawbar with a 10 inch Drop. If the # BM96 Draw bar will work for your setup, you may also be interested in a properly sized hitch ball. We have the Tow Ready 2 inch Ball, item # 19258, and the Tow Ready 1-7/8 inch Ball, item # 19256,...

  • How is the Length of a Ball Mount Measured
The length of a ball mount like the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 7" Rise, 8" Drop - 9-1/2" Long - 12,000 lbs # 4283 is measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball mount hole. This particular ball mount is 9-1/2" long from the center of the hitch pin hole to the ball mount hole. In regards to your second question you could use the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender - 2-1/2" to 2" Trailer Hitch - 7" Long # HR26 but it would reduce your tongue weight by...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for 2006 Honda Odyssey with Curt Hitch with 7 inches of Rise
When we installed the Curt Hitch part # C13068 on a similar 2005 Honda Odyssey as yours we found that from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground measured 13 inches. That means that if you need a ball mount platform height at 19-21 inches you'd want a rise ball mount of around 7 inches. For that we have the part # 4283 which in the rise position provides 7 inches of rise. For a 2 inch hitch ball you then would want the part # A-90, or for a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball part # 19286.

  • Ball Mount and Ball Recommendation for 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab V8 and Boat Trailer
For your 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab V8, I recommend the Draw-Tite Aluminum Ball Mount # 4283 based on the coupler height you gave. It is a Class III ball mount with a 7 inch rise with a tow rating of 12,000 lbs. This mount will be a good fit based on your coupler height with the hitch height of the Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite trailer hitches you referenced as it will provide a level tow for your boat trailer. If you would prefer a more economic option, I would recommend the Draw-Tite 6-3/4...

  • Recommended Hitch for 2006 Ford E-350 Cutaway Van
If your 2006 Ford E-350 Cab/Cutaway Van has holes on the rear frame members that are 38-5/8" apart, you can use the Curt # 13053, which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. Because of the rear step bumper you will likely need to use a ball mount with a longer shank AND a drop on it like the Draw-Tite # 4283 in order to tow a trailer, but that won't effect the fit of the hitch otherwise. You will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin to the edge of the step bumper to determine...

  • 12K-Rated 2-Inch Ball Mount with 8-Inches of Drop
For a 2-inch ball mount rated for 12,000-lbs that has 8-inches of drop we offer two options you can see on the linked page. Part # 4283 from Draw-Tite provides 7-inches of rise or 8-inches of drop, as does Curt # C45448. Both take a hitch ball, sold separately, like 10K-rated # A-90. This is the highest-rated 2-inch ball we offer. We do not have a 12K ball mount with this rise/drop that comes with the hitch ball pre-mounted.

  • Ball Mount for a 2014 Toyota RAV4 to Tow a Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer Level
The ball mount that you use is going to depend on the trailer hitch you have on your 2014 Toyota RAV4. If it has a 2 inch receiver opening then it will not be a problem. But if it is a 1-1/4 inch opening that makes it a Class I or II hitch and you are supposed to use a specific ball mount indicated by the hitch manufacturer. Since Yakima is measuring that 22 inches to the top of the ball and all of the ball mounts are based on measuring to the bottom of the coupler instead you would actually...

  • What is the 1-1/4 inch Hitch Ball Mount with the Highest Rise
The highest rise ball mount we carry that is designed to fit a 1-1/4 inch hitch is the Brophy Class II Draw Bar part # BM96, this ball mount has a 5-1/2 inch rise. The only other option you would have would be to find a way to lower your trailer so that you wouldn't need a ball mount with as much rise.
