Hi everybody. Andy here with Etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this CURT T-connector vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector. Now at the time of the recording of this video, this wiring harness has been designed to fit your 2018 to 2024 Toyota Camry, and on custom fit parts such as this harness, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at Etrailer.com. Simply input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm that this will work for you, or if we have something comparable for you. So this could work on newer Camry's, but at the recording of this video, it's only for the, it only goes up to the 24.

So that's why you always wanna make sure that you use the fit guide. The video might not be up to date, so the fit guide will let you know if in fact this will work with the newer Camry'S beyond the 2024. If I fail to mention, this will work with the hybrid and non-hybrid models, but this harness is going to give you a four pole flat trailer connector at the back of your Camry to power your trailer signal lights. This will be compatible with five, six, and seven pole adapters. Those adapters are sold separately from this.

And the black box here is a powered taillight converter. This is going to make sure that your Camry's wiring matches that of your trailer. This will connect directly to your Camry's battery to avoid overloading its electrical system, reducing strain on your vehicle's wiring system. And by the way, CURT does build each converter using surface mount technology for consistent, reliable performance. It maximizes trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, and that's gonna ensure superior operation in rough road conditions.

Now this harness is designed to connect quickly and easily. You will need to locate your Camry's wiring harness, which is gonna be located behind the driver's side and passenger side taillights. You will have to remove all your trunk floor coverings, and the rear scuff panel to access that harness. And then once you locate the connectors, you're gonna carefully separate them. You wanna be sure that you don't break the tabs on the connectors themselves, and then you're gonna insert these T connector ends between your Camry's wiring connectors, and lock them into place.

Now these T connectors are custom fitted for your Camry, so they are going to match up perfectly with the connection points on your car. They're gonna snap and lock together for a tight, secure fit. Now once you have these plugged in, you will need to make a good ground connection, and the ground wire is this white wire, and if you notice, it does have a ring terminal attached to it, and it also comes with that self-tapping screw, and so that's going to help you get this grounded to a suitable location such as your Camry's frame or cross member. You do wanna make sure that the surface is clean and rust free. Then you will need to mount the converter box to a safe, out of the way location. You can do that a few different ways. If you happen to have another mounting screw, a self-tapping screw, you could use that, and run it through the hole here. This does come with double-sided tape. That might hold it for a while, but especially during hot summer temperatures, I could potentially see this coming undone. So maybe use this as a secondary way to a screw that you might have on hand, or maybe use even one of the cable ties that's included with this kit to secure this in a safe, out of the way location. Next, you will need to run the hot lead to your Camry's battery. That's this short black wire coming out of the converter box. This short black wire is going to get connected to one end of this included bundle of black wire using one of the included butt connectors, and then the other end of this bundle is gonna get routed to your vehicle's battery. And once you have this routed to the battery, you're going to take this fuse holder, and connect one of the wires with a second butt connector to the routed wire. And then the other half of this fuse holder is going to get that ring terminal attached to it, and then that ring terminal is going to connect to the positive post of your Camry's battery. This does come with a 10 amp fuse, and so you'll just pop that into the fuse holder. And if you notice, it does have a cap to keep that fuse safe and protected. You can secure any slack in your wiring, any excess that you might have with the cable ties that's included with this kit. And then once the installation is complete, the four-way connector can be stowed in an out of the way location within your trunk. Instructions are included to guide you through the installation process. And it is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle end, and the four pole flat connector itself. That grease is designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture. So on your screen, I am including our model number for that grease. You can take that model number, pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to the grease, and you can add that to your order if you so desire.
