Installation

T-One Connection Location Points

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side interior trim panel in your rear cargo area.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

  • Towing Capacity and Recommended Towing Components for 2010 Honda CR-V
I checked your owners manual online and your CR-V is rated to pull 1500 lbs max as you stated. I wouldn't hesitated to pull a 1200 or 1350 lb pop-up camper but you do need to make sure it has brakes. You will need a hitch, ball mount, wiring harness, and a brake controller. I recommend the following for your 2010 Honda CR-V: -Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13555 -T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118427 -7-Way RV Upgrade...

  • Is OEM or Aftermarket Hitch Better Quality for a 2011 Honda CR-V
Hey Judy, thanks for reaching out! The quality of OEM vs aftermarket hitches is usually pretty comparable. The pricing on what you're looking at seems to be okay, but what you're likely going to see is a pretty big price tag on the labor involved in the installation - that's how they really get you. An aftermarket hitch like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e39AR will save you a little on the hitch side of things, which you can then turn around and give to a local trusted shop to...

  • Trailer Hitch, Bike Rack, and Wiring Recommendation for 2010 Honda CR-V
I recommend the Class III Draw-Tite Hitch, # 75547, for your 2010 Honda CR-V. A Class III hitch provides more versatility with its 2 inch receiver opening. This hitch has a gross trailer weight capacity of 4,500 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of 675 pounds. Just a reminder, you will want to follow the weight limitations of the component with the lowest rating. This would include the towing capacity of your Honda or any accessory that you mount in the hitch. If you are interested...

I have attached the installation instructions of the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7291 for a 2008 Honda CR-V to this answer page for you. In regards to installation, this is a bolt-on fit with a very clean finished install look. It has a hidden crosstube so you only see the receiver tube once installed. Please note, you do need to trim the rear bumper fascia for installation but this is because of the hidden design. If you don't want to trim then I recommend the Draw-Tite...

  • Which Trailer Wiring Kit is Best for 2007 Honda CR-V
The best trailer wiring kit we offer for your vehicle is the Tekonsha kit part # 118427 as it installs the easiest and comes with the most reliable converter box. A wire does not need to get ran to the vehicle battery either. I wish we knew what the part number of just the Honda connector you'd need is but that's not something we can get. For your 2007 Honda CR-V we do not have a 7-way wiring kit that is plug and play.

  • Tow Ready and Curt Wiring Harness Comparison for a 2011 Honda CR-V
The Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, # 118427, and the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness, # C55106, are basically the same harness from two different manufacturers. The main difference between these two harnesses is that Curt uses surface-mount technology (SMT) which is newer technology from the older through-hole technology. The Curt harness also has higher amp ratings of 3 amps per circuit for the stop and turn lights and 7.5 amps per circuit for the tail lights. The Tow Ready harness...

  • Ground Clearance of Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver on 2011 Honda CR-V
When we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13555 on a 2011 Honda CR-V, we found it has a height of 15-3/4 inches from the top of the receiver to the ground. This is part of the formula you will use to find the correct ball mount, with the other being the height from the trailer coupler to the ground - the difference will be the rise or drop you need (if the coupler is higher you need that amount of drop; if the receiver is higher you need that amount of rise). You can certainly install the # HM56300 for lighting when flat towing and the # 118427 for towing a trailer. Since both will not be used at the same time they will work just fine with no interference. I have linked you to install videos showing both harnesses being installed on a 2011 CR-V, as well as to some FAQ articles about flat towing that you might find helpful.

  • Does Trailer Hitch From 2000 Honda CR-V Fit 2007 Honda CR-V
There were multiple generation changes for the CR-V between 2000 and 2007, so a hitch from a 2000 Honda CR-V will not fit 2007 Honda CR-V. The correct fit for a trailer hitch receiver for a 2007 Honda CR-V is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13555. I also wanted to mention, in case you plan on doing some towing with your '07 CR-V, the correct 4-way wiring harness is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118427.

  • Sway Control Recommendation for Pop-Up Camper Pulled By 2011 Honda CR-V
My usual recommendation would be a weight distribution system with a sway control component built in to it, but we'll need to go another route because Honda doesn't recommend using weight distribution with the CR-V, but I do have a solution for you. I'd use the # D320 ball mount with sway control tab along with a Friction Sway Control like part # 83660. This would be just the ticket for a pop-up like yours. One caveat, you don't want to back the trailer with the friction sway control...

  • Difference Between Square and Round Tube Trailer Hitches for 2010 Honda CR-V
There are both Class I and Class III trailer hitches available that are confirmed to fit your 2010 Honda CR-V. The available Class I hitches, such as the Draw-Tite Sport Frame # 24792, feature a square tube design, while the Class III hitches like the Draw-Tite # 75547 have a round crosstube. This crosstube shape may appear to indicate the hitch's strength, as they differ between the two classes, but the design is typically only relevant to the physical appearance of the hitch. A round...

  • Recommendation for Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2011 Honda CR-V
A Class II hitch would use a 1-1/4 inch receiver, for a 2 inch receiver tube you'd want a Class III hitch. We offer two US Made Class III hitches that I'd recommend, the # 13555 from Curt or the # 306-X7291 from EcoHitch. Both hitches share the same 3500 lb gross trailer weight capacity. The Curt has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs while the EcoHitch has a capacity of 525 lbs. The primary difference between the two is that the EcoHitch model installs so the majority of the hitch is...

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2007 Honda CR-V is the Curt Class III Round Tube Trailer Receiver Hitch # 13555. With a 2 inch hitch receiver, this trailer hitch will accept a wide variety of hitch accessories and ball mounts. This trailer hitch has a bolt-on installation that requires not welding or drilling. A weight distribution system is a device that is installed on a trailer and uses leverage to transfer the weight of the load across the entire towing setup. It's in addition to a trailer hitch and is optional for towing, although sometimes highly recommended. The trailer hitch receivers designed for your 2007 Honda CR-V are not rated with a weight distribution system, therefore you don't have the option of using one. But you can still tow a trailer. It does sound like it is a fuse but we need to figure out what caused the fuse to blow in the first place. Otherwise this problem will just keep happening. First, to verify that it is a fuse, you can use the owners manual and/or the legend on the power distribution box lid to find the fuse location. Leave the harness unplugged when you change the fuse. If the running lights on the 2011 CR-V start working then we know that there was a short somewhere that caused the fuse to blow. Check...

I recommend installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118427 when you install the receiver. This will give you a 4-way flat connector which is commonly found on most small trailers you might tow. It can also be used with Auxiliary Lights # C53201 if you are using large hitch mounted accessories which impair the view of your tail lights.

A Class III will have a 2 inch receiver opening. If you have a Class III hitch with a 2 inch opening I recommend...
