This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will have to remove the rear threshold and some interior lining to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because your vehicle runs on a multiplex wiring system, the wiring needs to be converted to be compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Video Transcript for Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Trailer Hitch Wiring - 118695 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. This product fits certain years of the Honda Accord Coupe. To make sure this is a fit for your vehicle, you can use the Vehicle Fit Guide located at etrailer.com. This is going to provide a four-way flat connector at the back or your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This is compatible with five-pole, six-pole, and seven-pole adapters. Adapters are sold separately.

It comes with a dust cap for the four-way flat connector that way you can cover up the connection points when it's not being used. The black box on the unit, this is going to be the included ModuLight power converter. This ensures that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. The power module connects directly to the vehicle battery through the wiring to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system. Now, it is designed to connect quickly and easily. What you'll need to do is locate the connection points in the rear cargo area, and plug in your T-connectors.

The connector with the yellow wiring goes to the driver's side of the vehicle. Connector with the red and green wiring goes to the passenger side of the vehicle. Locate your connection points, plug in the connectors. They're going to be custom fit for your vehicle. They're going to snap lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit. Once you get those connected, you'll need to make a ground connection.

Your ground wire is your white wire with a ring terminal attached to it. The kit does come with a self-tapping screw. That way you can get that properly grounded. Then you'll need to mount your converter box to a nice, clean, out of the way location. You can use the double-sided adhesive foam tape provided with the kit to do that. Once you have that done, you'll need to run the hot lead to the vehicle battery.

The hot lead is this short black wire. This gets connected to the bundle of black wire with one of the included butt connectors. The other end of the bundle runs to the vehicle battery, gets another butt connector attached to it, and then connects to one half of the fuse holder, so you will need to cut that fuse holder wire. The other half of the fuse holder gets a ring terminal attached to it, and connects to the positive post of the vehicle battery. It does come with your 15-amp fuse, goes directly in the fuse holder, and it's got the cap that goes over to keep it safe and protected. Once you have that done, you can secure all the excess wiring or slack in the wiring with the included cable ties. Then, once your installation's complete, the four-way connector's going to be stowed in your rear cargo area. Plenty of wiring, that way you can pull it out the back whenever you're ready to use it, and then you can tuck it away and keep it safe when it's not being used. It is recommended that you use a small amount of Dielectric grease on all your electrical connections like the plugs on the vehicle and the four-pole connector itself. That grease is going to help prevent corrosion. It is sold separately. If you're in need of some, you can find it here at etrailer.com. When I comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at 4.2 amps per circuit. For the tail lights 7.5 amps per circuit. That's going to do it for today's look at the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector.

  • Everything Needed to Tow With 2016 Honda Accord
I took a look at the owner's manual for a 2016 Honda Accord and though you will be able to tow a trailer, please keep in mind that the maximum your Accord can tow is 1,000 lbs. To do so you would need to start with a trailer hitch, and I recommend the Draw-Tite # 24899 which has a 1-1/4" receiver and is a bolt-on installation so there will be no drilling into your Accord's frame; I have linked a video showing an install of this hitch on a '16 Accord for you to take a look at. • Towing Capacity and Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Honda Accord Coupe V6
I looked up the towing capacity for your 2016 Honda Accord coupe with a V6 and it has a 1,000 lb trailer weight capacity. As long as the trailer you plan to tow weighs less than that you'd be fine. For a hitch the Draw Tite part # 24899 is the way to go as it has more than enough capacity than you'd need and unlike the Curt for your vehicle does not require the use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack. For trailer wiring the Tekonsha part # 118695...

  • Is There a Motorcycle Carrier for a 2017 Honda Accord
All of the trailer hitches that fit your 2017 Honda Accord are 1-1/4 receivers. I've linked our selection of carriers that fit the Class I hitch for you. The lightest of them is Curt # C18145 that weighs about 29 pounds. This is important because your Accord has a tongue weight capacity of only 100 pounds according to the owner's manual. So with a roughly 30 pound carrier you're only allowed another 70 pounds on the Accord. You didn't say the weight of the bike but I think it's safe...
