Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Video Transcript for Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Trailer Hitch Wiring - 118528 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the T1 vehicle wiring harness with a four pull flat trailer connector. This part is going to fit certain years and models of the Nissan Juke. It's going to provide a four way flat at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This is compatible with five volt, six volt and seven volt adapters. It's going to come with a dust cap for the four way flat connector that way you can cover up those connection points from the plugs not being used. The black box, this is going to be the included modulate, this is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. The pair of modules are going to connect directly to the vehicle battery through the wiring to avoid over loading the vehicles electrical system.

One of the big benefits of a system like this is that it's designed to connect quickly and easily. All you have to do is locate the connection points in the rear cargo area of your vehicle and plug in your T connectors, you're going to have two sets. The set with the yellow wire goes to the drivers side of the vehicle. The side with the green and red wire goes to the passenger side of the vehicle. This is a custom fit harness so these plugs are going to match up perfectly with the plugs on your Nissan Juke. They're going to push together and snap lock together for a nice tight secure fit.

Once you have those connected, you'll need to make a ground connection. Ground wires are going to be the white wire with the ring inaudible 00:01:11 attached to it. You can get that grounded to a nice clean metal surface with the included screw. Then you'll need to mount the converter box, a couple different options when it comes to that, you can use the double sided adhesive tape that's provided with the kit, just peel it, stick it and then mount it to a clean out of the way location. It's also got a mounting tab in it, that way you can mount it with a screw if you want to. It's got a whole in the tab so you can just put a screw through there and get it nice and secure that way.

Or you could just use a zip tie and secure it that way as well. They do include some zip ties with the kit, but multiple options there probably the most common one is going to be used, excuse me, is going to be the double side adhesive tape that's provided with the kit. Once you get that mounted, you'll need to run your hot lead to the vehicle battery, that's going to be the red wire right here. You're going to get it connected to the bundle of black wire with one of the included buck connectors. The other end of the black wire runs to the vehicle battery, it gets another buck connector attached to it. It attaches to one half of the fuse holder.

The other half of the fuse holder gets a ring terminal attached to it and connects to the positive post on the vehicle batter. It does come with a ten amp fuse, goes in the fuse holder and it's got the cap to keep it sealed and protected. Once you have that done, you can secure the access or sock in your wiring with the included zip ties. Once your installation's complete the four way connector is going to be stowed in an out of the way location within your rear cargo area that way you can just pull it out whenever you need it. Plenty of wiring to do that. It does come with detailed installation instructions to help walk you through step-by-step. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at two point one amps per circuit and for the tail lights we're looking at five point six amps per circuit. It's also recommended that you use a small amount of inaudible 00:02:57 grease on all your electrical connections. The plugs on the vehicle and the four pull connector itself to help prevent corrosion. That is sold separately, so if you need some you can find it right here at etrailer.com. That's going to do it for today's look at the T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four pull flat trailer connector.

installed on 2014 Nissan juke. I like the fact it has its own power supply instead of feeding off the factory brake line power. So I started off by popping off the rear plastic cover. For this, I used a small 7-inch mini pry bar and 2 flat head screwdrivers. i also used a soldering gun instead of the little yellow connection pieces. I ran my power wire through the inside of the car along the driver side. underneath the plastic floor kicker panels. The hard part is getting the wire through the rubber grommet just above the brake pedal. I used a sturdy wire (really sturdy) used Ducktape to attach the wire and shoved it through the grommet , make sure not to damage any fatory wirring or you might be in big trouble. ( this took me awhile) then I soldered all my connection (wish the fuse holder was black so it looks more factory). I also followed some of the factory wiring and taped the yellow fuse holder and yellow around them with eletrical tap. 238026

Installed and works good. The only problem I had with it, was the driver side plug to the module is really short, making it hard to mount the module anywhere due to the bass speaker being in the way, it just needed like 4" longer wire to get below the side panel trim. 209271

2013 Nissan Juke

Just installed this on our 2013 Juke Nismo AWD. Product installation was fairly straight forward. Removing the rear threshold required really using some force to get the clips to release from the frame, but nothing broke. The rear side panels pull away much more easily than the rear threshold panel, and do not need to be fully removed to access the brake light harnesses. I chose to run the power wire under the car and through the gromet located under the spare tire. Everything worked without any issues when I picked up a u-haul trailer to deliver a motorcycle. 161345

This is my second trailer hitch and and wiring harness from e-trailer. As in the past the service was great, price was excellent and the product was as described with great instructions.Should I get another vehicle without a hitch I most certainly will get it from e-trailer. 125076

Bought this after the Curt harness wouldn't work. This one worked first time no problem. While more work to run power directly from the battery it really is better. Would have been nice if the gave waterproof electrical connections though. 59234

Mark S- was this because the Curt harness wouldnt support the brake lights on the trailer?

Ask the Experts about this Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring

Do you have a question about this Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring?

  • Troubleshooting Curt Trailer Wiring Harness # C56124 for 2012 Nissan Juke
  • There are a couple things to check before replacing the unit, which may be the answer. First, check your vehicle fuses as listed in your owners manual. There are specific fuses for trailer use on your vehicle. The second thing to check is the ground wire on your wiring harness. If the ground is bad and isn't getting the bare metal to metal contact it could have worked and then suddenly stopped working as you stated. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to check functions. If all...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2013 Nissan Juke FWD
  • We do have a couple Class I trailer hitches available that are confirmed to fit your 2013 Nissan Juke FWD, as long as it is not the NISMO model. I recommend going with the Draw-Tite Class I Receiver Hitch # 24892. Unlike the Curt model that is also confirmed to fit your vehicle, Draw-Tite does not require the use of an additional stabilizing strap for non-trailer loads such as cargo carriers or bike racks. I have attached the written installation instructions for this trailer hitch...

  • Will Draw-Tite Hitch 75659 Cause Rear Bumper to Bow on a 2005 Honda Element EX
  • Two reviews out of over 250 for Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75659 for the 2005 Honda Element indicates that this is a rare issue that doesn't really affect fit and is not likely to be something that you are going to run into. To be clear if anything bows it isn't the bumper, it is the lower fascia (the bumper is actually the metal structure behind the plastic fascia). If the hitch pushes up on it at all it won't be by very much. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball...

  • Differences Between Draw-Tite # 24892 and Curt # C11032 for 2012 Nissan Juke
  • If you're planning on doing some light-duty towing, you'd want Draw-Tite #24892, along with the # 118528 trailer wiring harness and the 1-7/8 inch diameter trailer ball, part # 19256. The Curt # C11302 would install in essentially the same manner, using the same attachment points, and has an identical weight capacity. However, Cut requires the use of a stabilizing strap # 18050 to provide extra support to non-trailer loads. The strap doesn't work well with some vehicles, so I typically...

  • Constant Power on 4-Way After Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2013 Nissan Juke
  • It might be the tester. If the tester uses LED lights and it is a powered harness there can be some bleed off from the harness. This is normal and since LED lights require such little power draw they would light up a little. If you are using Curt wiring harness # C56124 on your 2013 Nissan Juke, it doesn't have a power wire. Green is right turn, yellow is left turn, brown is running lights, red is brake lights, and white is ground. Constant power usually indicates a short. Check...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2011 Nissan Juke Front Wheel Drive
  • There is a trailer hitch designed for the front wheel drive models of the 2011 Nissan Juke. Take a look at the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11302. This hitch is listed as a fit for front wheel drive models only. I have included a link to the installation details for you. This is a Class I trailer hitch and with all non-trailer loads, like a bike rack, Curt requires the use of a stabilizer strap, # 18050, to be in compliance with their warranty requirements. You will also be limited to carrying...

I also attached installation instructions for the Curt version of this harness that are a little bit easier to follow. See links to the right.

  • Trailer Hitch and Towing Equipment Recommendation for 2011 Nissan Juke
  • The Draw-Tite Class I hitch, part # 24867 is only compatible with AWD versions of the Juke. For the front wheel drive model, use the Draw-Tite Class I, part # 24892. • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2017 Nissan Juke AWD
  • Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24867 is the hitch designed specifically for your 2017 Nissan Juke AWD. Hitch # 24892 will fit but # 24867 will be easier to install. Since you will be towing a small motorcycle trailer I also recommend ball mount # 3593. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring you can use # 118528 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle. I have included links to videos on the hitch and wiring for you.

  • Difference Between Draw-Tite and Curt Trailer Hitch for 2017 Nissan Juke AWD
  • Aside from the manufacturers there is very little difference between the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24867 and Curt Trailer Hitch # C11088 that fit your 2017 Nissan Juke. The biggest difference is that Curt recommends using Stabilizing Straps # 18050 for all accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers. Due to that and Draw-Tite's strong reputation for making very high-quality hitches I recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 24867. This is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver...

  • We do show confirmed hitch fits for the 2017 Nissan Juke, for non-NISMO models. You can see all products on the linked page. We do have Curt options but I suggest the lower-price Draw-Tite. If you have the AWD model you can use Draw-Tite Class I hitch # 24867; if you have the FWD model you can use the Draw-Tite # 24892. For both you can use ball mount # 3593, either 1-7/8-inch ball # 19256 or 2-inch ball # 19258, and 4-pole wiring harness # 118528. This is a powered converter harness.

  • To install any of the trailer hitches for the 2012 Nissan Juke, front wheel drive, you will need to enlarge an existing access hole on the frame. This can be done in several ways including using a drill, rotary tool, or file. Installation of an aftermarket part technically will not void the warranty.
