Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required. Circuit-protected converter guards against shorts.

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Locate connection points in trunk
    • Plug in T-connector
  • Includes circuit-protected tail light converter to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer
    • Provides protection against electrical shorts and overloads
  • Constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 2.1 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 7.5 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access the harness.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required. Circuit-protected converter guards against shorts.

A year ago I purchased this harness and it was easy to put in and worked great.

The mechanic was going to charge me $252.00 for a two hour job. That's about what my lawyer charges. I mean a good mechanic is worth his salt; of course, I'm going to pay. Idon't know know what I'm doing.

However, the DIY video I found on etrailer made the installation look so easy I thought I'd give it a try, and save $252.00 I tried, nearly failed, unable to disconnect the connectors. But if you wedge a screwdriver head in the side of the connector, the darn thing pops right out. I didn't see that on the video. Then on the other side the darn thing popped right out on the first try. I nearly fainted.

Replaced a failed unit of another brand. The Tekonsha unit seemed to be of higher quality. Excellent instructions made for a simple installation. Another trusted product from

After a year, the unit is still functioning perfectly. My vehicle is stored outside, closed up in hot, sunny summers, freezing in frigid Minnesota winters. The Tekonsha unit continues to do its job, perfectly.

Both the Trailer Hitch and the Wiring Harness were easy to install..averaged about 40 minutes each.Every thing worked just fine.

Mexican D.

Good! Easy to install thanx to your instruction guide.

It’s a good hitch but it didn’t fit perfectly an it hits the exhaust pipe so every time I turn on the car it rattles sometimes because the pipe hits the hitch

Great wiring harness. Easy to install. Just clips on. No soldering or wire cutting. Exactly what I needed.

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

As with all of the items we have ordered from etrailer this harness continues to serve us well. With four Santa Fe's (2002,2003,2007,2011) in the family we have installed harnesses in all as well as hitches. They all went in easily enough and etrailer's installation videos were of tremendous help in simplifying the tasks.

Randall H.

It still serves us well, over thousands of towing miles, thank you!

2013 Ford Explorer

Usiong the online video provided by etrailer helped immensely. While not specific to my vehicle (2012 Ford Explorer) the 2013 model used was extremely close. There were some questions that arose as the video covers installation on a factory installed towing package, but the folks at etrailer's customer service group were more than helpful in researching and coming up with the needed answers/information. Brake controller works great!

I installed this hitch about a year ago. Following the available video's made it pretty easy and I'm not really that mechanical. The wiring harness was also pretty straight forward. Overall, it has functioned perfectly. Does what a trailer hitch is supposed to do. The bottom line is this is much cheaper to buy directly and install yourself than to have someone else do it. Would definitely recommend.

My harness was delivered fast. The instructions where clear and easy to follow. I had mine installed in no time, and it continues to work well as of today. The construction was far better that I expected. I would buy this product again. Thank you for a great product!

Its still works great after a years uses. I would buy this again if needed.

2015 Hyundai Santa Fe

Got it exactly when I was supposed too. So very easy to install. Maybe 15 minutes to disassemble the back it the Santa Fe. Five minutes to install the harness and 10 to reassemble. Plugged into the trailer and jackpot!!! Running lights , break lights and turnsignals. So happy I found your product on YouTube!!! Awesome!!! Thanks for the great service and product!!!

Very good product. I used etrailer you tube video for installation. Works like a charm.

Bjoern S.

Still working great. I can say with the help of the you tube video this product is easy to install and holds up, even after everyday use.

Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai Elantra Touring 2012: Piece of Cake to install. Took Just about an hour. Loved the T-Connectors, made the install very simple. No need to splice into wires!!! Did not have to pull out the cargo side panels completely, just enough to get access to the rear light wiring harness. Will be using it to tow a utility trailer. Thank You !!!

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Hitch was packaged great, very clear instructions, no missing fasteners, easy install. The trailer light kit also purchased went on without a problem. All worked well.

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have to say..... went perfect. Ordered the tow package and wiring for a 04 Hyundai santa fe and I was ready to have someone install it. Watched the video that came with my order and two hours later I was completely done.

Way to go etrailer.

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Very simple to install. Your installation video was a great help!

Rob L.

Everything is working great Rachael. ... we tow the trailer quite often and have never had any issues with either the hitch or wiring harness... I would highly recommend etrailer to anyone for prompt quality service and parts.

2012 Hyundai Elantra is great. Tell them what car you have and they have the right hitch. It was delivered as promised, it fit perfectly and the installation videos are thorough and accurate. No surprises, no uh-ohs.
Buy it from them.

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Installed fine on my 05 Hyundai Santa Fe. Watching both videos helped with the installation. I also was sure to use the Loctite dielectric grease.

2006 Hyundai Santa Fe

Easily installed. Was a pain removing all the panels to get access to the on-board harness, but not difficult. I basically started at the back of the vehicle and only removed what I needed to, which was right up to the LATCH hooks in the cargo area. I consider this to be a "plug-and-play" system. Works great right out of the box.

Quality wiring harness. The wire gauge is heavy duty and it is easy to install once you get all of the trim pieces and interior panels opened.

2011 Hyundai Elantra

This wiring harness works well for my 2011 Hyundai Touring. There's a lot of removing trim in order to get to the wires, but it wasn't difficult, just takes time.

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Left off the 5th star because a. Said one one push stud at back of mat in the video & b. The controller module had no self adhesive back and no screw to mount it with.

Other than that - Customer service, price and assistance were First Class. I wouls rate them 9 out of 10 rather than 4 out of 5, but that option was not available.

I have bought several different harnesses for our Hyundai Santa Fe's 2002 2003 2007 2011, they are all working great still. Easy enough to install.

2012 Hyundai Elantra

This wiring harness for my Elantra Touring installed just as the write up on said it would, no suprises. It does take some time as panels have to be opened up to make the connections, but it works perfectly.

I have not installed the kit yet but I have used Tekonsha kits before and they always worked if you follow the instructions. I don't anticipate any problems.

If you have the T-Connector harness, part # 118473, for your 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, the instructions are available on our site, and I will link you to them below. The harness snaps into the connectors that power the Santa Fe taillights.

  • Trailer Wiring for 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe
Instead of using the 5 pole connector, you will need a T-1 Connector, part # 118473. The T-1 connector has a tail light converter that combines the brake and directional signals onto one circuit for the left side of the trailer, and one for the right side. This will allow you to tow any trailer with a 4-pole connector.

When it comes to trailer hitch fits for the 2001 to 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe the motor size does not matter. Curt trailer hitch # C13505 will fit. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to...

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13505 which is an excellent bolt-on, assembled in USA option for a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe will fit models with a full size spare tire. The spare will need to be lowered for installation but it can be raised back up into position when done. If you'll be towing then don't forget the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118473 and the etrailer Ball Mount part # 989899.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring
For your 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring Hatchback we have the Draw Tite hitch part # 24844 which is a confirmed fit. I like this option the best as the hitch tube will be concealed unlike the Curt equivalent. Also if you were to ever carry a bike rack you wouldn't need a stabilizer strap like you would with the Curt. You'll need the ball mount part # 3594, hitch ball # 19256, and trailer wiring # 118473 and you'd be set.

The tongue weight capacity for a Class I hitch is 200 lbs like you said.
