Installation

T-One Connection Location Points

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located beneath your vehicle, along the driver's-side frame rail.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Was exactly what I expected plug and go and still after a year no issues and definitely a thicker design then what my auto parts store had

1981 Ford F-100, F-150, F-250, F-350

1981 Ford F-250. Found the in-place junction connector back by rear bumper on driver's side. Separating the two parts was a chore...guess it was frozen together from 40 years. Anyway, used a screw driver to shimmy the pieces apart and then two vice grips to separate the connection...maybe not a pro move, but it worked. Seemed harder to do than it should have and I almost gave up. Anyway.
Once I had the wire junction connector separated on the original part the install of the new etrailer part was plug-and-play and all lights worked on truck. Did not test 4-pin to a rig connection. Planning to connect the 4-pin to a 7-blade converter kit from etrailer. Will report on that.

  • Troubleshooting Turn Signals Blinking Rapidly With Trailer Connected to a 1983 Ford F-150
The turn signal not working properly with a trailer connected to your 1983 Ford F-150 sounds like you will need to add heavy duty flashers from an auto parts store. If you have a Two-prong flasher on your truck, you can locate it by listening to the clicking sound, made by the signals when engaged, in the cab of the truck.

I actually do have a diagram that you can look over to help with wiring trailer lights and the 4-Way wiring harness. I have included a link to the page below. The best way to find the functions of the wires on the 1985 Ford F-250 is to use a circuit tester like # 40376. You will need to test the wires behind each taillight for function. Behind the left taillight, the wire that carries a signal in unison with the blinker connects to the yellow wire on a 4-Way harness. This also carries...
