This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located beneath the vehicle, near the frame rail on the passenger's side. Once you've plugged in the connectors, insert the included fuses and relays into their locations in the fusebox, which is located in the engine compartment.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Video Transcript for Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with factory tow package, part number 118270. Here's what our wiring looks like fully installed. Now, we are using a bracket that is not included in our kit, but you can pick up several different options to mount your wiring on our website. Now, our wiring is going to give us a four-pole flat and all the required lights to have a trailer going down the road safely, such as our stop lights, turn signals and clearance lights. Now, this kit is for the factory tow package, so we're just going to have one length of wire that's going to run to our factory connector. Then, we're going to have a few fuses and relays that we're going to put in that'll start making everything function properly. Now that we've seen what it looks like when it's fully installed, let's show you how we got it there. To begin our installation, I already went ahead and removed our fascia door right here just so we can have access to our hitch and back here. Now, we're going to need to find the factory end that we're going to connect our harness to, which is going to be on the passenger side.

If we come up here and reach up and pulled my connector off of the frame, there's just a push pin holding it in place. It's not going to come down. We're going to be looking for the other end of the connector that looks like our harness, and we're going to be connecting it right here. Before we do, I'm going to put a little bit of dielectric grease and that's going to help prevent any build up of corrosion and prevent some moisture and debris from getting inside. If you need some dielectric grease, you can pick some up on our website using part number 11755. I'm just going to put a small bit inside the connector.

We're going to be putting it in this one since it is going to be easier than reaching up into the frame and trying to get it onto the other side. Once we have a little bit of dielectric grease in there, just going to take my connector and connect it to the one on the vehicle. We want to make sure it's locked into place. If you can, you're going to want to reach up and find that push pin that was attaching the connector. We're going to reattach it to the frame so it's not bouncing around. We're going to go ahead and route the end of our connector over to the center of our hitch.

I just want to mention that you want to stay away, or as far as possible away, from the exhaust. We're going to be moving parts so it doesn't damage the wire. Now, everybody's going to do it a little bit differently, but I'll get mine done and show you how I did it. I ran my wire until I came to my fascia at the back here. Then, I actually pulled the plastic down and routed my wire in-between my bumper beam and the fascia on my car. That way it would stay away from the exhaust, zip tying it along the way.

Then, I had it routed down to my hitch and it's coming out right here. Now, on our application, we are using this four-pole mounting bracket. If you need one of those, you can pick one up on our website using part number 18144. We can go ahead and go under the hood now, because we are going to have a few relays and a few fuses to put in place for our wiring to work. Now, under our hood, our fuse panel is going to be all the way towards the passenger side, towards the very back of the firewall. Now, we're going to go ahead and open up our fuse panel. Now, we're going to have a couple locking tabs that are going to hold it in place. You want to push in on that tab and lift up and it'll release it. You're going to have another one over here on the side as well. Now, we're going to find a few different locations and our instructions are going to give us the locations and the fuse that we're going to need to put in place. Now, in our instructions, they do provide us with a whole diagram saying what we're going to need to put where. Now, we're going to put our 10 amp fuse, that I have here, and we're going to put it in the trailer park lamp position. If we find on our fuse panel holder here, it's going to be at the very top next to the other two 10 amps in a row. We're going to put the 10 amp fuse in there. We're going to insert a fuse into our left trailer stop and turn signal slot, as well as the right, which is going to be two positions here, an F17 and F21. We can go ahead and take our 10 amp fuses from our kit, and put them into the fuse holder. We're going to have one more spot for our 10 amp fuses and that's going to be in position F8, which is going to be towards the right hand side of our vehicle. That's going to be for our trailer backup lights. We're going to have two 30 amp fuses that we're going to need to put in. If we come to kind of the center section of our fuse panel, we're going to have a raised section right here. That's going to be for our trailer brake and the position's going to be F34. Now, right next to that, in position F30 is going to be for our trailer power. Now, we're going to put both 30 amp fuses in those slots. Now, finally, we're going to have two more relays we're going to need to put in. Now, again, if we find the left hand side of our fuse panel more towards the driver's side, we're going to see that there's going to be a couple of gray relays there already. There's going to be two holes, and those two positions are going to be where we're going to be putting our relays in. The one towards the firewall is going to be our right trailer and stop and turn signal relay. This one is going to be for our left turn. We can just take our relays and insert them into place. Now, we can go ahead and test our lights and make sure everything's functioning properly. Now, here, I got my four-pole tester that I can plug in. Then, the lights on here are going to allow me to know if they're working properly. Now, if you don't have a four-pole tester, you can pick one up on our website using part number I26. I'm just going to plug it in just like I would with my trailer. Now, I'm going to grab an extra set of hands and have them run the lights, so I can verify that they are working properly. Can I have the headlights please Here, we can see our headlights are working properly. Now, the left turn signal. Okay, good. Now, the right turn signal. Good. Now, the brakes. Good. Finally, the brakes and both turn signals please. Looks like everything's good to go and we're ready to hit the road. Whenever we're not towing and we don't need our wiring, we can actually go ahead and reinstall the cover on our fascia here and everything will be nice and hidden and tucked away. At the same time, very easily accessible and ready when we need it. That'll finish up our look at the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow package, part number 118270, on our 2014 Chevrolet Traverse.

I was pretty easy once I figured out how the plug receptacle on the vehicle was oriented. It ended up being easier to twist it to face downward so I could get a view of it. It's a VERY tight spot. The wiring kit worked perfect though and made everything else simple. 710851

This product works perfectly. It is a direct fit tot the vehicle. The plug is located behind the back passenger tire and is tucked in between the fender and inside wall. It is mounted into the sidewall so you have to feel for it. It plugs right in and then run the cables towards the tow hitch. Thank you guys for the assistance. 660024

One year down the road, receiver hitch and towing package light kit both work excellent, with pretty heavy use, I pull my boat a lot. The etrailer installation videos are extremely detailed, complete and accurate and made installing both a breeze. 664800

Plugged right in and worked right the first time, took about 15 minutes to install, and only took that long because I fished the wiring over the subframe to get it completely away from the exhaust. Came with extra fuses and relays, as my vehicle already had the fuses and relays installed. Shipping was prompt, and etrailer personnel answered my questions thoroughly, making this a smooth job. THANKS! Wish I could take pictures, but imagine in your mind the dirty underside of my car with clean trailer wiring firmly ziptied in place. 563444

Hi. The hitch and wiring fit like a glove. Looks Like it came from the factory new. Love the fact the draw tie hitch can hide away under the bumper cover. Highly recommend this Product. I will pass the word about your company to all my contacts in the business. Thanks for all your help Stephanie. Look Forward to doing business with you again 661401

Received my Traverse hitch in 3 days , thought that was great . The hitch was a defective Draw-Tite 75528, the end mounting flange on one side was welded at an incorrect angle and the hitch would not bolt to the frame rails. I called etrailer about this and they shipped out another hitch at n/c in 3 days with a pre-paid UPS label to return the defect . That was a fair option to me , the replacement part was correct and it fit properly , the only thing was the hole for the ball mount hitch pin was undersize and I had to use a round file to open it up to fit the pin through it . I guess in Mexico they use a smaller pin size to hold the ball mount on The customer service at etrailer was great, thanks Niki 401037

Free shipping, you can't beat that for starters. Received my trailer hitch on time. Installed it the same day. Most of the comments from previous posts apply, at least the ones that don't boast it's a piece of cake. In the video the mechanic is working at an appropriate level which makes the install as easy as it looks. I used my floor ramps to back onto and worked on my back on the garage floor. The hardest part was just wrestling off the rubber hangars. Pry bar doesn't work as there is no good pry point. Lube up the free end, especially the "lock" or blocking end. I used a pry bar but pounded it with my rubber mallet until just enough of the rubber was past the end where I could then muscle it off. The next "easy" part was holding up the hitch to get a bolt in . That only took 10 minutes or so, nearly broke a rib as it fell several times on my chest. But I've done this before on my Subaru Forester so I knew it would get done, just with a different set of bruises and scratches. And it got done. The fascia fit back nicely so when I go to the Country Club no one would suspect I actually enjoy towing my rowboat to the bay instead of booking a flight to Antigua. Getting hold of the plug to install the 4 way connector took more than just what the instruction manual indicates. That part of the harness was fastened to the chassis and I wound up having to reach up and after several attempts was able to mate the harness extension . I had to remove several screws on the wheel well to open up access but once that's done it's just zip ties and squinting to see where the fuses and relays go. So if you see me out there at the spit don't tell anyone that a Buick Enclave was being used for such a utilitarian task. They're liable to revoke my Country Club membership. 663136

Gave this order 5 stars for the prompt service and the product was just as described. I ordered a drawtite Hitch and wiring connector for my 2013 Buick Enclave. The hitch and wiring connector arrived quickly. I also ordered a bracket for the four wire connector within 10 minutes of the first order, which was shipped first, it was shipped by the USPS. All of the items fit perfectly and was easy to install following the excellent instructions. Great job! Recommend etrailer for all your towing needs. 416779

The wiring harness was well thought out and a good fit with good directions for installation. The relays fit in the fuse box and the connection fit in with the factory wiring. The tail to the hitch was sufficient length to route the cable without having too much extra. All the connections fit correctly and snugly as well as all circuits worked on the first test and have not failed over the course of the first year of use. 695580

I've attached a photo of the hitch installed on a 2014 Enclave and a video of this hitch being installed so that you can get an idea of what it entails. You will definitely need a nylon tube brush like # 814092 to clean the weld nuts on your 2014 Enclave. Dirt and road grime can build up over time in...

  • Trailer Hitch & 7-Way Wiring Harness for 2014 GMC Acadia
We can help you get your 2014 Acadia set with a hitch and wiring. The hitch you can use is the 2-inch Class III Draw-Tite # 75528 which both costs less than the other option and offers higher weight capacity. This hitch features no-drill installation using included hardware. A video is linked for you showing this item installed on an Acadia. For wiring, the basic 4-pole setup for your Acadia is part # 118270 but if you want to have a 7-way along with this 4-pole you will install the...

  • Where is the OEM Wiring Plug Located on a 2012 Buick Enclave
According to the installation instructions for your 2013 Buick Enclave, the vehicle’s towplug will be located on the rear passenger side of your vehicle.Locate the opening just to the right of the muffler. Up in the opening you will find the vehicle's tow plug. The wiring will have a grey plug at the end and this plug is where # 118270 4-flat harness will plug in to your Buick's wiring. I have liked a installation video that will show you exactly how to install the # 118270 wiring harness.

  • Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2016 Chevy Traverse Without Tow Package and Rear AC
Since your 2015 Chevy Traverse does NOT have the tow package but Does have the rear AC unit I recommend wiring harness # 118270. It includes the necessary fuses and relays to activate the wiring tow package and will be easier to install that trying to adapt a different harness to fit. The install of the # C56181 is blocked as the AC unit not allow access to the rear taillights.

  • Does Trailer Hitch for 2017 GMC Acadia Limited Come With 4-Way Wiring?
There is 4-pin wiring available for your 2017 GMC Acadia Limited, but Curt hitch # 13424 does not include the wiring. Instead, you need the T-One Wiring Harness # 118270 which gives you a 4-flat connector allowing you to power your trailer's lights. If you are going to be towing, I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4”...

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2015 Chevy Traverse with Rear Air Conditioning
The trailer wiring kit you would want for your 2015 Chevy Traverse that has the rear AC is the Tekonsha part # 118270. This wiring harness can be used as an OEM replacement, but it also includes the fuses and relays to activate the tow package if your vehicle was not equipped with the tow package. This will be a plug and play model that will install easily and would not interfere with the AC. The Hopkins kit you referenced would work but is a universal hardwire application. Check...
