2024 Subaru Crosstrek - T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector

  • 4 Flat
  • Trailer Hitch Wiring
  • Powered Converter
  • Tekonsha

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Subaru Crosstrek with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.

Features:

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting, splicing or tapping
    • Locate connection point in rear cargo area
    • Plug in connector
  • Includes ModuLite to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer
  • Protective connection terminals resist corrosion
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector
  • 10-Amp mini fuse included

Specs:

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 2.1 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 5.6 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, either behind the driver's-side trim panel or in the spare tire compartment. You will need to remove some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, insert the provided fuse into the in-line fuse holder.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Excellent product as usual from etrailer. This is probably the third wiring adapter I’ve brought from etrailer & they’re always plug & play. The only thing that varies is where the connector is located in the vehicle. Luckily Subaru places them in an easy to reach location. Out new 2022 Outback was the easiest yet. The instructions say to “Store the 4-Flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use”. I don’t like the idea of it being closed in the tailgate when in use so I run it through an oval I cut in the spare tire well using a grommet and silicone sealant to ensure it says water tight. The extra wiring is secured to the back side of the bumper and just enough lead hanging out to connect to my utility trailer.

It’s been a year now and it still works like a charm with NO issues

2017 Subaru XV Crosstrek

Like Tommy Boy my part arrived in a box with guarantee. Felt all cozy. First time doing anything to my car and these videos they have just make it simple and clear . It’s more difficult and dangerous to plug in a toaster into a socket . Remove some of the interior panels by the spare tire in my 2017 Subaru Crosstrek and wham, plug in the harness. Snap the panels back in and the length of the cord makes it all the way to the back of my bike rack. The flat 4 cord sneaks out under the hatchback between the rubber gaskets and leave no marks on the wire insulation. Simply plugged in the brake/signal lights mounted on the bike rack now and I’m all legal . Take that Johnny Law! DOT approved now. All Kozy , Kinda like the guarantee on the back of the box . Love that movie.

Quality; well-made component that was as easy as plug in, secure some wires (out of harm’s way) plug into trailer wiring and turn the lights on. Instructions and function could not have been easier. This has always been my experience with e-trailer products!

1 year of use later, getting crushed, battered around and the wiring harness keeps doing what it was intended to do- flawlessly.

by:

The product was boxed well and was the easiest thing to install! I purchased the wiring harness along with the trailer hitch. The trailer hitch was a little cumbersome but I was able to do the whole thing by myself. This is the second hitch/harness I have purchased from etrailer and I have had great success with both!

After a year and pulling many loads, both heavy and light, this set-up is still top notch. Everything is working great. I don’t believe there’s a simpler way to go about installing your own wiring harness.

Subaru Outback Wagon

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector was awesome. It literally took me about 2 minutes to install it on my 2024 Subaru Outback. We popped the tailgate trim piece off and the factory connection was right there to make the connection. It works great.

I bought this harness for a 2020 Subaru Outback and couldn't be happier. It made for a very tidy installation and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

by:
2018 Subaru Outback Wagon

It's a great kit and etrailer has great instructional videos. The only thing I had trouble with was tapping in the connection to the brake wire. On my 2018 Outback the wire is around 26 AWG, which is too small for the t-splice connectors. I made do by stripping the wire at a mid-point with a blade, but I was nervous that I would sever some of the strands. It was also very difficult to access the wires way up under where the pedals are. There are other ways to make the connection, but it involves running more cables between the rear and front of the vehicle.

by:
2018 Subaru Forester

The T-One wiring harness connected directly to the factory wiring on my 2018 Subaru Forester. The whole install was done in less than 10 minutes, with most of the effort going toward removing and replacing the interior panels needed to access the wiring.

I will be towing infrequently, and like that the harness can be safely stored inside the vehicle, and appreciate the “plug and play” fit without modification to the factory wiring. The etrailer how to video was spot on and provided a great preview of the install process.

by:
2016 Subaru XV Crosstrek

I bought the wiring kit for my 2016 Subaru CrossTrek to haul a small trailer about 1,000 miles. It was super easy to install in less than 30 minutes - simple directions and worked great the very first time. I purchased an etrailer hitch about 7 years prior, and again, installed it in less than 45 minutes - pretty good for a girl with limited tools and car experience.
Since then my Subie has been a little work horse and towed the same trailer many times over the past 6 months for small home project materials - absolutely no wiring problems to affect the trailer lights and the hitch continues to work great!
Thanks so much for your fantastic products, as well as very thorough directions and videos.

by:
Subaru XV Crosstrek

It was a super easy install. The instructions said the connector on a 2022 Crosstrek was under the left side panels. Nope, it was under the center trim near the lock latch. Two minutes after I found it I was done. Super easy.

by:

Hitch came in great shape! Got the car apart the fist time and the hardware was wrong??. I called customer service and they shipped me the right one very quickly. Hitch went on easily with minor issues. The trailer harness was literally a plug in job works perfect. On the Subaru wilderness I was able to use a straight hitch. Over all very pleased.

Very nice quality hitch and wiring harness. 24 Subaru Crosstrek. Easy half hour install on the hitch and 10 minute plug and play on the trailer harness. Very helpful folks at etrailer and super fast shipping

by:

Super easy install. Clear instructions, plug and play! The hitch was also an easy install. Collect the needed tools and supplies and I got it installed in about an hour without a car lift or jacking. Very sturdy unit and not awful to look at!

by:

With the help of videos installation was a quick and easy and problem free.

by:

Great Price. Works well on my 2017 Subaru Forester. I’ve hauled a lot of things with it now! Ex: Trailer with mower, motorcycle, beds, couches etc. Even pulled a 14ft trailer. I have had zero issues. Definitely recommend!

by:

Very good product! I do wish it had inline plug-in attached to hitch rather than tucking into spare tire compartment.

2016 Subaru Outback Wagon

Installing this was SO EASY. I am not an electrician or a mechanic and have never modified any car before, but watching the installation video on the website was super helpful and I pretty much couldn't have done it without the video! I installed this in 30 minutes. I bet a person could do it even faster than that if they were more experienced than I am!

by:

I wish that all of the companies that I deal with were as easy to work with! The staff is exceptional, making purchases a simple transaction. The install video was spot on made using my year and model of vechicle. The car to trailer wiring that I purchased is very well made and works perfectly. Thank you Etrailer.com for a simple transaction, I will be shopping with you again.

by:

On my 2022 outback there was no need to remove the plastic cover on the car. Just reach out and plug the trailer connector.

It works fine in our 2019 Outback. It takes patience to fish out the vehicles installed connector if you dont want to remove the interior panel, risking damage to clips, fasteners, etc. But once done, its out of sight, out of mind, and most importantly, out of the way!

by:

The hitch and wiring are well made and installation went very well My friend helped with the install it was easy as we were able to use a car lift No bending over !

Fit was perfect. Just like to emphasize that the Drawtite hitch on a '25 Outback is set back further and might require a little extension depending on your needs.

  • Recommended Hitch w/ Least Amount of Trimming for a 2020 Subaru Forester
All of our different trailer hitches for a 2020 Subaru Forester will require you to trim the heat shield in order for it to be reinstalled back on the vehicle. I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7391 because it requires the least amount of trimming and is perfect for a bike rack. I really like the Ecohitch because it installs behind your rear bumper cover leaving only the 2" x 2" receiver visible. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 3,500...

Thanks for the nice words, and on a scale of 1-10, the installation difficulty on your 2019 Subaru Outback is rated a 10 for the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e42TR.
