Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located on the driver's side and passenger's side of your rear cargo area. You will have to remove the floor coverings and storage trays to access these connection points. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, locate the single-pin connector on your tail light wiring harness and plug in the single-pin connector on the T-connector. Then locate the fuse box under your vehicle's hood and plug in the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

I learned of etrailer thru a good friend of mine. Came by UPS, well packaged. I installed the hitch on 1 day and did the wiring the next day. Instructions and on site videos were easy to follow. I think it looks great on my 2015 Nissan Murano. I will keep etrailer in mind for any future purchases.
I originally was going to install this wiring harness myself (along with a new hitch, but found that the hitch was problematic to install not due to the hitch, but because of my car) so I brought both things to my local mechanic. He reports the install was very simple. The harness has been working flawlessly over the past year on my 2018 Nissan Murano.

Received both the hitch and wire connector this afternoon! Got both installed today with ease. I don’t have a test light plug to check lights so I’ll test tomorrow with trailer! I’m confident that the lights will work!
First of all the service and staff was excellent. I ordered the receiver and wiring on Thursday and it arrived Tuesday evening.
This was a simple installation and took about 15 minutes. Installed on brand new 2015 Nissan Murano. Putting the tiny tie wraps on took more time than anything. I wish the trailer lead plugged into the module l so one could easily route wire to remain outside the vehicle. But if you don't tow all the time it is not a big deal.
The installation of the 75952 receiver took about 20 minutes. I used my motorcycle jack to raise receiver into proximity position then caught a bolt on each side so I could remove jack. Good thing I still had my torque wrench and kreeper from my racing days. You can rent or borrow a torque wrench at A******* A*** if you don't have one.
I did back my car up on a couple Rhino ramps to give me plenty of room to work. Overall I am very pleased with this product and installation. I saved $245 by buying from etrailer and installing myself. I had 2 other hitches including another Murano installed and I am kicking myself I did not do this before.
With the money I saved I can put new tires on my Goldwing! :) Great Job etrailer!!
This set up rocks! No cutting or splicing. Just unplug your lights and plug the harness in between. The directions were spot on and easy to follow. I had the whole thing done in about 15 minutes!

This is an excellent product. Worth every penny. I used to work in a marina In my younger days, 50 years ago. And I wired many vehicles trailer lights. So I thought I could attacked this one the old-fashioned way. No way. The etrailer it is a Absolutely godsend. Since I already had my rear end of my cargo area opened up. It barely took me 10 minutes to complete the project once I had that kit.

Although the installation instructions don’t mention it, there’s an extra (larger) ring connector in the kit that was useful in attaching the ground wire to an existing frame bolt.
I've ordered from etrailer before with good results. I'm a retired mechanic and mechanical engineer, and I like it when everything works out well the first time.
Everything went well this time too. The instructions were clear and complete. It took me about 35 minutes to install the hitch receiver and about 50 minutes to install the wiring harness, but most of the extra time was dealing with all the trim pieces on my vehicle. Several of my friends want me to install hitches on their vehicles too, so I'll be back.
Very easy to install! I was impressed with the wiring kit especially. I towed a trailer full of beach gear from Ohio to Florida and back without issue.
Instructions were concise and were easy to follow. The online videos provided additional information. Installation took less than an hour for my 2015 Nissan Murano.
Well had a little bit of time spent on the install. I live on the west Coast and alot of sand. So when i tried to clean out mounting points the wire brush wwas not getting it cleaned out. So i ended up going and getting a tap to clean out treads. Then started to reinstall. Yep went up and done in 5 min. Works great. The wire harness i got just pluged right in. Now i wish i had a hitch cover to advertise for you. Cause the hole package is great. Thank you

Well, I mean if you really would like to, we wouldnt stop you from getting part # 22282. Its a hitch cover that says etrailer.com on it. Either way though, thank you for the glowing review!
This is my second etrailer hitch and wire harness install. I have had no problems. Everything works great.
It took about 45 minutes to install and the wiring process was well explained and easy to hook up. I would highly recommend this product.

Product works great as intended Was an easy install.
Easy ordering process, price was good. The install was very quick and extremely easy. I am now a customer for life.
Super Easy install and instructions were spot on. Instructional videos are very thorough. I absolutely advise you take the time to make sure the threads are clean as suggested in the video. This will make starting the bolts much easier. The passenger side is a bit tight with regard to maneuvering the hitch into place. Can't believe some of the quotes I got from local retailers to install (with all respect to their expertise and business acumen).
