Installation
To determine where to splice into your Honda Fit's tail light wiring, you will need to consult the included instructions. Use the quick-splice connectors to attach the input wires of the tail light converter to the corresponding wires from your Honda Fit. Once you've spliced in the converter, connect the included hot lead to the black wire and run it up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Then locate a flat surface inside your Honda Fit near the tail lights and adhere the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape. Find a raw metal surface to use as a ground point and secure the white ground wire using the provided ring terminal and screw. Finally, secure the converter wires to your Honda Fit using the included cable ties.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on the 4-pole connector to help prevent corrosion.
Because most trailers run on a 2-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on 1 wire - the signals from your Honda Fit may have to be converted to be compatible with your trailer's wiring. If your Honda Fit operates on a 3-wire system, which means that it has separate brake and turn signals, then those signals will need to be combined so that they run on 1 wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. This converter will also ensure that your trailer's lights illuminate fully, even if your Honda Fit has pulse-width modulation (PWM) wiring. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your Honda Fit operate.
This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

This was delivered within same box as a trailer hitch that I ordered for my 2017 QX50. Wir8ng package was open/damaged, however item looked clean and new. I installed it a couple days ago following instructions video since it was not a plug&play application. The installation took about 30 minutes. The unit works flawlessly. I towed my small trailer using the wiring and I had no issue what so ever. Iam happy with the purchase.
Your installation video was great. I don't think I could have found the correct wires without it. The Curt instructions were not clear in determining which wiring scheme the Pacific has. I still don't know what PS stands for in their chart, but your video explained it nicely.

After one year the module is working great. No problem what so ever.
I have a bmw x1. The left tail light wiring was wrong. I had to splice the brown and the white cable next to it and switch them in order for it to work. The brown was supposed to be tail light but it wasn’t. So much for custom just plug in and it works.
The module works flawlessly. My only disappointment during installation was there was not a version specific to my Volvo that had factory compatible plug in connectors. It required splicing the appropriate signal wires, but thankfully there was an installation video available for my model that identified the wire color for the splices.
It works, and the etrailer video on installation (in a Hyundai Palisade) was very helpful. The left-side light leads were too short by about a foot for installation on my 2019 Hyundai Tucson. Also, as you'll learn in the video, the connectors supplied with the kit are inadequate for use in a location that will be exposed to water and road grit, so you need to buy those as well. Overall though it's a good functional device and a straightforward installation.
I received the wiring harness but have not yet installed it. The installation instructions were pretty genaric and not specific to the exact vehicle I will be installing it on. This is not really a problem but it would have been nice, if it was a bit more specific per the vehicle. I would probably rate it higher but I have not installed it yet.
This product is somewhat intimidating... but having the step by step video of the actual vehicle the product is being installed on... makes it pretty straight-forward. After following the precise steps conveyed in the video link... I was able to achieve perfect results the very first attempt. Everything worked as stated.
No returns on the difficult splice in trailer wiring kits i inadvertently ordered even though they had a car specific simple factory plug in kit available I wasn't advised about.

Works as it should. The video made it easy to install. Didn't come with quiet enough hardware to install but that wasn't a big deal though.

Came without instructions, had to look them up and even then they weren't great. Some of the provided wire connectors were too small for the wire provided in the kit. But everything seems to work OK.
Great heavy duty hitch.
Good product. Poor quality accessories. One of the EZ splice connectors broke into pieces when attempting to shut and every single zip tie broke during installation, possibly due to combination of plastic aging plus very cold temps during install
I enjoy talking to your sales rep. She was very helpful and had knowledge on the
hitch & wiring that I did not. Pleasant to talk with and seemed like she enjoyed her job.

Very complete tail light wiring system! Great directions, and easy to install. The only thing they can improve on is adding about a foot to each of the wires to make it a bit easier to get them in the right positions.
Followed the instructional video etrailer has on YouTube. They didn't work, my trailer lights didn't work. Used a voltage meter and the trailer wasn't the problem. My taillights on my car was operational. Tried different location for the power wire and nothing worked. Decided to get rid of the box and spliced the tow light plug directly to the appropriate wires from my car's headlight and it worked.
Package has everything you need. Power wire could have been longer for my installation. I would buy this product again.
Easy find the right part using the online part fit guide. Followed up to make sure it was delivered when it was delayed by the post office.
Followed the instructions and no issues. There is a good video on the e-trailer site.
Had to return because car dealer said the Tuscon was not prewired. He was wrong. Therefore had to return this item and order the plug and play unit. An added expense was not appreciated because the his lack of experience.
Installed this on a 2014 BMW X3 and works well in conjunction with my new hitch assembly. Although there was not a specific install video for a 2014, there are videos for a 2010, 2011, and a 2017 BMW X3. After watching those videos I was able to apply it to my install. I installed my components on the inside of the vehicle and will pull the 4-flat cable and plug out to the hitch when needed.
Returned, had to splice wires. We ordered a plug in style.
Sorry took so long popped my hip out of place was able to get into garage and everything arrived perfect I have a friend coming to help install as usual it’s great to buy from a company that has such high standards and great employees and the video instructions thanks again!
I haven't installed yet but the kit appears to be quality and complete.
