Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located behind the rear bumper, along the driver's-side frame rail.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Connector plugs directly into OEM tow package port - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.you guys did a great job. you got me exactly what i asked for and got it out quick. the trailer hitch is actually much better than i was expecting. it is very heavy duty and mounts to the vehicle with 6 bolts instead of just 4 bolts like other manufacturers hitches do. i can't wait to install it and tow something lol. once again thanks for the great job and nice product
Shipping was prompt and extremely well packaged. I received timely updates on the progress of my order (which was much appreciated as I needed this an upcoming trip). Both the recommended hitch and wiring harness were a perfect fit. The installation video and PDF were informative and accurate, making the installation stress free and within the estimated timeframe. One hint: if working alone, a floor jack to support the hitch works as well as another set of hands.

I purchased this harness a year ago and installed it with relative ease. The wire had plenty of length for my vehicle (Lexus RX 350) and the connection was simple. The product works very well, I am satisfied and would recommend to others with a similar need.

DAVID L - 04/23/2023The trailer light wiring I originally ordered was on back order so they let me know that a similar item was in stock. I revised the order and the trailer hitch and wiring light arrived promptly.
Extremely dissatisfied, disappointed. Shipped me wrong hitch I assumed it was the correct hitch and paid a subcontractor to install in 2 hours into installation we discovered it was the wrong hitch. On top of that the customer service guy says there is no after market hitch and he can only refund my money.
Zero accountability and nothing more than a refund.
No apologies no additional money or store credit, nothing.
I’m very angry and disappointed with etrailer!
Hopefully some upper management will read this and contact me to make it “right”.
Hitch fit perfectly and instructions were clear. It would be nice if there were a method for stowing the wiring harness connector out of sight.
Literally cannot get simpler to install than this. Luckily, my 2010 Lexus Rx450H was set up with the factory tow package (and luckily I kept the window sticker to verify that!), so once the trim panel below the bumper is removed, the electrical connection is on the driver's side frame rail, capped. Remove cap, plug in the wiring harness, zip tie to the cross bar of the hitch, you're done. Shipping was super fast--ordered on Wednesday 6-14-17, scheduled for arrival 6-19-17, arrived late morning 6-17-17. Thank you!
I'm using it to tow troop equipment and canoe trailers for my son's Boy Scout events.
As easy as all the reviews said it would be. Took a little while to get new bolts started that replaced OE self-tapping bolts. But it all lined up and gave a professional finished look when completed. Now I'm ready to help my friend install the hitch on his wife's RX. Won't hesitate to recommend etrailer.com to all in the future.
Great product, excellent support. Very easy install in 25 minutes. Install directions very good. Holes are slotted in hitch, would recommend starting all bolts leaving bolts loose, then center hitch by bumping with wooden block before tightening. Then torque to spec.
Fit perfectly on our Lexus RX 350 and there was plenty of length to allow you to route the wiring harness any way you choose. The video series etrailer puts together on how to install the time is wonderful and very helpful, especially for those who learn by watching someone do the install first.
Easy Plug and play
The product is probably fine but I needed an electronic converter for my vehicle since it didn't have the trailer wiring from the factory. This was not clear from the eTrailer description.

The part came fast and fit perfectly. The plug is up under the left rear bumper on a 2015 Lexus RX350. I had to remove the plastic cover under the car. I'm glad I had the "tow package" on my car which is required to plug into and of which I wasn't sure I had.
Super easy to install especially if you have the tow prep package on your car. The bracket makes the look more professional.
Fits perfectly ... installed in less than an hour with a second set of hands from my son. And the genesis that snapped right in to the prewired rx350 tow wiring package .... all at 1/3 of the price the Lexus dealer was going to charge !!
I was worried that Delivery was laye. Customer service responded right away. Delivery was done. Installation was super easy after viewing the the car specific videos. This was 100% satisfactory experience !

All I can say is, thanks etrailer for having the right product for the Job!! Product as advertised! Installation was a breeze taking only 45 minutes. I did the installation without raising the vehicle up off the ground. As a side note, the Lexus dealer wanted over $700 for doing the same job, no surprise there..
