Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. So let's take a look together at this T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector. Now this wiring harness has been designed to fit your 2013 to 2021 Lexus ES 300H, and then your 2013 to 2018 Lexus S350. On custom fit parts such as this wiring harness I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide. Just insert the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have another harness that will work for you.

Now this harness of course, is going to give you that four pole flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. This is also going to be compatible with five poles, six pole, and seven pole adapters. Those adapters are sold separately. And what I like about Tekonsha's wiring harnesses is they typically will tether their dust cap to the housing of the plug so that's going to ensure that you're not going to easily misplace that plug. And of course, the cap, rather, and of course that cap covers up those connection points of the plug when it's not in use to protect it from dirt and debris and moisture.

Now the black box on this wiring harness is a ModuLite power module. This ModuLite is going to make sure that your vehicle's wiring matches out of your trailer. This does connect directly to your vehicle's battery to avoid overloading its electrical system, reducing strain on the wiring system. And this will not affect how your taillights on your vehicle operate. This harness is designed to connect quickly and easily so you're not gonna have to worry about splicing wires or altering your vehicle's wiring, which could lead to damage or possibly even voiding warranties.

These custom fit T1 connector plugs are going to plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk behind the taillights on both the driver's and passenger side. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access that harness. And then these T connectors are custom fitted for your vehicle so they're gonna match up perfectly with the connection points on your vehicle. They're gonna snap and lock together for a tight secure fit. Once you have these plugged in, you will need to make a good ground connection.

The ground wire is this white wire. Notice it does have a ring terminal attached to it and it does come with a self-tapping screw. And that's going to allow you to get this grounded to a suitable location such as your vehicle's frame or crossmember. You just wanna make sure that the surface is clean and rust free. Next, you will need to mount this ModuLite box to a safe, out of the way location. You can do that with another mounting screw that you might have on hand, one of the main cable ties included with this kit, or this double-sided adhesive tape, which comes in this kit as well. You just want to get this secured out of the way so it's not moving around inside your vehicle after you have this wiring harness installed. Next, you will need to run the hot lead to your vehicle's battery. That's this red wire that you see here coming out of the ModuLite. This wire is going to get connected to one end of this included bundle of black wire and you're going to use one of the included butt connectors. And then the other end of this bundle is going to get routed to your vehicle's battery. And then once you have this routed to the battery, you're going to take this fuse holder here, snip that loop in half, and then connect one wire with the other butt connector to the routed end of this bundle of black wire. And then the other wire of this fuse holder is going to get this ring terminal attached to it. And then that ring terminal is going to connect to the positive post of your vehicle's battery. This wiring harness does come with a 10 amp fuse and that fuse will slide right into this fuse holder. And it's got a cap here so it can keep that fuse safe and protected. So you're gonna be able to secure any slack that you might have in your wiring with the cable ties that's included in this kit. Once installation is complete, this four way flat connector can be stowed within your trunk area. I really am a big fan of Tekonsha's wiring harnesses. They are well designed, well constructed. This harness is constructed out of 16 gauge bonded wire, so very heavy duty, very robust. I think it's going to last you a long time. Instructions are included to guide you through the installation process. And it is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections, like the plugs for the vehicle and the four pole flat connector itself. That grease is designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture. So on your screen, I am including the item number for that grease.
