This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

I just received and installed a class 4 hitch on my 2022 Grand Cherokee Laredo L and as usual it was easy to install, and as usual the hitch is top notch. This is my 5th hitch I've purchased through the years and I will purchase all my hitches from etrailer. In fact I'm about to purchase number 6,thanks for the great products.

This wiring harness is great, all the connectors fit and watching the installation video helped save time and headache figuring out how to route the power wire to the battery. Great hitch fairly easy to install. About 4 hours. Nice step by step instructions and good videos on line. I highly recommend. Just take your time step by step and you will succeed.
Package was in the same bad as hitch, but everything was there, so what do I care. I’ve been using solder seal shrink wrap but end connectors. Heat gun melts solder and shrinks wrap. Routing power wire to battery is not for the faint of heart, but I knew what I was getting into. Service was fantastic. Ordered Tuesday and had it on Thursday!
This is a well made wiring harness. Install is a bit involved but everything fit perfectly.

I installed the hitch and rear wire harness, I still need to run the 12v supply. I am a retired technician that worked at the Chrysler Tech Center so I am very familiar with doing this type of work. The installation took 1 1/2 hours and had no issues, the hitch and harness are excellent quality and fit perfectly. It is a lot easier to install the wiring with the facia removed. I guess that if I had to complain, they should have a place to screw the wiring module and ground on the hitch itself. The delivery was fast and free and much cheaper than the dealership, I would highly recommend them. Thanks etrailer!

Good kit, works perfectly. Running the cable to the battery is a pain but really not too bad since you can fit under the Grand Cherokee without having to lift it.
Products arrived correctly for my specific vehicle. Installation videos made it extremely easy to install.

Still working without any issues. Great job eTrailer team.
Not terribly hard to install, the hardest part is getting the vehicle facia off. It’s been working great, no issues.
Wiring harness was easy to install and straight forward. Worked perfectly

It wouldn't work when I hooked it up. Tried working with etrailer and Curt to get it resolved, but neither of them helped. Curt was especially rude and kept saying I hooked it up wrong. I installed a Tekonsha kit and it worked just fine, so the Curt one was defective. I won't be buying Curt products anymore.
Straightforward setup with good instructions. I’ve had it for a year with no issues. Used it to tow a trailer from Texas to Oregon a few months back with no problems whatsoever.

Plugged in perfectly to my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it gave me the 4-pole connector that I needed to adapt to 7 pin for pulling my camper. Install was quick (I already had the body panels off to install a receiver), the videos were spot on.
