Features to know about

Effortless Installation: Custom Fit T-One Connector

Say goodbye to complicated wiring jobs. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness from Tekonsha comes with a custom-fit T-One connector that plugs directly into your vehicle's existing wiring harness. This means no cutting, splicing, or tapping needed, making the installation process a breeze. Easily locate the connection points in your rear cargo area, plug it in, and you're ready to go.

Reliable Light Protection: Circuit-Protected Converter

Installing trailer wiring typically complicates light circuits, but with the built-in circuit-protected converter, your vehicle's wiring is safeguarded from electrical shorts and overloads. The converter intelligently combines the brake and turn signal functions so that they travel on one wire, ensuring compatibility with your trailer's system without affecting your vehicle's lights.

Comprehensive Compatibility: 5 to 7-Pole Adapter Friendly

If your trailer requires more than a 4-way flat connection, this harness is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters (sold separately). Its design can easily accommodate different needs, providing a perfect solution for trailers equipped with more advanced electrics.

Durability Meets Convenience: Weather-Resistant Construction

Constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire, this harness is designed to withstand external elements. The inclusion of a dust cap prevents dirt buildup on the 4-way connector, so it stays clean and works when you need it most. A small amount of grease on connections can help prevent corrosion, ensuring long-term reliability.

Tailored Performance: Custom-fit for Multiple Vehicles

Made to specifically fit a range of vehicles, this wiring harness is perfect for those who want a tailored solution without the hassle of universal options. It means reliable connections and consistent performance, whether you're towing a small trailer or something beefier. Designed to match the electrical system of your vehicle, it ensures optimal operation every time.

Specs

Electrical Specs

  • Maximum Amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 2.1 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 5 amps per circuit

Warranty

  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation Details

  • This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area.
  • Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk or rear cargo area.
  • It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter

  • A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer.
  • The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.

Note

This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for 2012 Kia Forte Curt Trailer Hitch and 2 Hitch Ball
To use your Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11434 to tow a small trailer with your 2012 Kia Forte you need a ball mount and pin/clip kit in addition to the 2" hitch ball you already have. Curt actually recommends going with the Curt Class II Drawbar # C45521 which gives you a 2-5/8" Rise or a 3-1/4" Drop and secures to your hitch receiver with a simple Pin and Clip # F-4 or an upgraded Locking Pin # e98879. This works with hitch balls with a 3/4" shank which should match what you already...

  • Is Trimming Required to Install Curt Trailer Hitch on 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited w/Dual Exhaust
On a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, when installing Curt trailer hitch # C13073, you will need to trim the heat shield under the vehicle. Technically, you could just fold the area of the shield that would interfere out of the way but this might make installation more difficult. The bumper does not have to be trimmed and you cannot see the heat shield unless under the vehicle. I have linked a video showing an installation of the hitch and it also shows trimming the heat shield. If your father plans...

  • Adapting a 4-Way Trailer Connector to a 7-Way on a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe
What you will need is a 4- to 7-Way adapter. Adapter # 47345 does the opposite and plugs into a vehicle side 7-Way connector. In order to add a 7-Way connector to your 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe you will need to first install the 4-Way. If your Santa Fe came with the factory tow package then # 118258 is correct. If it did not come with the factory tow package then you would need # 118415 instead. After the 4-Way is installed you can add the 4- to 7-Way adapter. There are a couple of ways to...

Installation of the Tekonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller # TK90160 in your 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe will require our brake controller install kit # ETBC7 and a 4-pole harness. Use 4-pole kit # 118415 if you do not have the factory tow package; use part # 118258 if you DO have the tow package wiring. Install videos for both harnesses are linked for you. I also included an article and install video for the ETBC7 kit to help you with that.

Both the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch # C13073 and Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75684 are confirmed to fit your 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe as long as it does not have the dual exhaust. Because of its cross tube design, the Curt Class III # C13073 is going to allow for easier access to the spare tire mounted under the vehicle. I have attached a couple of images so you can better see the comparison between the two hitches. The Curt Hitch is a great option for your...

None of our suppliers offer a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch for your vehicle. They all offer the 2 inch trailer hitch with a 3,500 lb tow capacity and tongue weight capacity like the Draw-Tite Class III, part # 75471. The fact that there isn't a Class I or II hitch available is actually advantageous...there's a much better selection of hitch mounted accessories that are available for Class III hitches. As far as towing a trailer goes, there is not an advantage or disadvantage between the Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, # 118258, and the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118415, for the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. • Trailer Wiring Recommendations for a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe
If your 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe does not have the tow package from the factory, you would need wiring harness # 118415. To be absolutely sure on whether or not the vehicle is so equipped, have the dealer run the VIN. They will be able to tell you what equipment it has with that information. As far as I have been able to find, the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, any model, was not equipped with a 7-Way. In order to add one, it would be a hardwire situation that would include adding a 4-Way first and...

  • Turn Signals are Not Working with the Tekonsha T-One # 118415 Installed on Tow Vehicle
If you are just testing it by hooking up your trailer and watching the lights, then what I recommend doing is using a Circuit Tester # PTW2992 to test the 4-Way flat connector on the Tekonsha T-One # 118415. This will help you to determine if the problem is on your trailer side or vehicle side. If the functions all work correctly when you are testing just the connector, then the problem is on your trailer. If not, then you maybe need a new # 118415 since it connects in-line with your taillights. To...

Your 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe can be equipped with either a 1-1/4-inch Class II or a 2-inch Class III hitch receiver, but only the Class III type can be used with weight distribution. The hitch you need for weight distribution is the Draw-Tite Max Frame # 75684. This hitch for your Santa Fe will work only on the versions without the dual exhausts. You can tow with a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe, though according to the owner's manual, without the towing package you have a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 lbs. In order to tow with your Santa Fe, you would need a hitch, and I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75471, which has a bolt-on installation so no welding is going to be required. You would also need wiring to add a 4-way connector, the T-One Harness # 118415. I also checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which may fulfill your towing needs...

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # 118258 not having any power means that either the fuse that comes with it is bad or a fuse for the trailer lights on your 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe is bad since this is connected to the OEM tow package. From what I was seeing in the online owner's manual the "BATT" fuse in the engine compartment fuse box takes a 30A fuse and protects the Trailer Power Outlet so that's what you'll want to check.
