Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Hyundai Elantra with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.
Features:
Specs:
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will have to remove the rear threshold and some interior lining to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in your spare tire compartment.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

works great. product was installed over a year ago and I have had no issues. I pull a small 4x6 trailer with my 2018 Hyundai elantra
Ok so It's been a year since I bought/installed trailer hitch/wiring harness. I initially confirmed the electrical system by hooking up the trailer & all worked as expected. The install was much easier than I anticipated. I'm always a little concerned about routing wires thru a vehicle. The process was rather painless & very clean installation. Don't be concerned if your thinking about this DIY procedure. The directions are straight forward & customer service is a phone call away. I did call with a question & the answer came quickly.
When the need arises in the future for my next install there is no other place I'll go.
Paid more for this one but sure beats stripping and punching and hoping you get a good connection. The video was helpful especially the suggestion of using cleat water plastic tube to get the wire up to the battery i usually use a wire to pull it up but just left the tube in place to protect the wire.

great
My 2010 Elantra was much easier to install. The hitch was relatively easy to install on 2018 Elantra, but wire from battery wasn't easy and it hangs down inside the wheel well. Not well designed for the 2018 Elantra. The middle bracket has nothing to attach to on the car, so the hitch is held on by 4 bolts fastened to the frame. I don't feel safe towing heavy loads (+ 1,000 lbs). Checking tightness of bolts requires removal of underbody panels. Works well for occasional light towing.
I am very happy with this purchase. No problems with ordering or receiving the product. I am impressed with the quality of the connectors and wiring. I installed the kit myself using the included written instructions and a video covering installation for my car. The kit works perfectly, I plugged in my trailer connection and the lights work great. This is my first purchase from etrailer.com and it has been an overall good experience.
The manafacture made this wiring harness easy to install but could have done a better job on the instructions if the installer was a novice.
But if the installer was a novice and had issues with instructions the videos that etrailer has made made up for the marginal printed instructions that came with the harness.
Works great! Figuring out how to get the interior panels apart without risking damage is a little tedious, but running the 12 volt wire back from the battery is by far the hardest part. Having access to a lift would help. But in the end, knowing that the extra amps for the trailer lights aren't going through the car's wiring is probably worth the effort. I shielded the supplied 12 volt wire with some plastic tubing for added abrasion resistance.
Ordered items arrived 4 days earlier than expected delivery date & all items were installed without issue. The installation videos on the etrailer.com website were fantastic to follow. Absolutely no complaints and would highly recommend this company for anyone looking to buy & install a trailer hitch. It is so nice to find a company that actually does what they say they will do :-)
The wiring harness is made to my 2019 Hyundai Elantra SE is very well made I plan to install it as soon as I can. I was going to make my own wiring for my car with this harness I don't have to.
Worked as described. Etrailers instalation videos are great.
Pretty straight forward installation. I ran the power wire to an key controlled wire rather than a constant on wire to avoid any unless battery drain.
Package was nicely packaged into etrailer’s box and arrived on time. Thank you
Was not difficult to install and always works when connected to trailers.
Received very quickly, quality hitch have not installed yet, salesperson was exceptional
I installed this trailer harness on my 2020 Elantra. The instructions were easy to follow and Everything needed came in the kit. I first lift the rear of the car using my ramps and installed the wires as far forward of the vehicle as I could, I then moved the ramps to the front of the car and finished the work. It might have taken me 2 hours to complete the installation.
Everything hooked up easily and works g reat.
Not a DIY project .
