Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkin's plugin simple vehicle wiring harness with a 4-pole flat trailer connector. This product fits a 2007 to 2009 Hyundai Veracruz and a 2007 to 2009 Kia Sorento. It's going to provide a four-way flat connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This is compatible with five pole, six pole and seven pole adapters, adapters are sold separately. It's going to come with a dust cap for the four-way flat connector, that way you can cover up the connection points whenever your plug is not being used. The unit also includes a taillight converter. This is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's.

The powered module connects directly to the vehicle battery through the wiring to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system. That's a great advantage to have with this unit. It's also designed to connect quickly and easily. All you got to do is locate the connection point in the rear cargo area and plug in your connector. This connector is going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle. They're going to snap-lock together for a nice, tight, secure connection.

It is a custom fit wiring harness so it's designed specifically for your vehicle. Once you have that connected, you'll need to make a good ground connection. Your ground wire is your white wire. It has a ring terminal already attached to it. You want to get that attached to a nice clean metal location with the included grounding screw then you can mount the converter box to an out-of-the-way location. It's got a mount located on each side, that way you can get it secured out of the way with the included cable ties. Once you have all that done, you can run the hot lead to the vehicle battery.

The hot lead is this red wire that comes out of the converter box. It already has a butt connector attached to it. This gets connected to one end of the bundle of red wire, the other end of the bundle runs to the vehicle battery, gets attached to one half of the fuse holder here at the butt connector. It's already pre-attached to the fuse holder. The other half of the fuse holder has a ring terminal attached to it. That gets connected to the positive post of the vehicle battery.

It also comes with your 20 amp fuse, it goes directly in the fuse holder and it's got the fuse cap that goes over and keeps it safe and protected. Once you have that completed, you can secure any excess or slack in your wiring with the included cable ties, then once your installation is complete, the four way connector is going to be stowed beneath the vehicle and your other trailer hitch. We do want to recommend using a mounting bracket to keep the connector secure and easily accessible. Mounting brackets are sold separately. It's also recommended that you use a small amount of terminal grease on all of your electrical connections, like the plugs on your vehicle and the four pole connector itself. This grease is designed to help prevent corrosion and it is included with the kit.
