Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. This product is going to fit a 2005 to 2007 Chrysler 300, a 2008 to 2014 Dodge Challenger, a 2006 to 2010 Dodge Charger. It's going to provide a 4-way flat choke connector at the back of the vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. This is compatible with 5-volt, 6-volt and 7-volt adapters. The adapters are sold separately. It's going to come with a dust cap for the 4-way flat connector.

That way, you can cover up the connection points when your plug is not being used. It's also going to feature the protective connection terminals that are designed to resist rust and corrosion. It's a really nice durable design and construction. It's designed to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires. All you have to do is locate the connection points in your rear cargo area and then you're going to have two connectors to get connected.

One is going to go to the passenger side of the vehicle. The other one is going to go to the driver side. These are custom fit so they're going to match up perfectly with the plugs on the vehicle. They're going to plug in and snap-lock together. They've got the locking tabs on them that's going to offer a nice tight, secure fit. Now once you have those connected, you will need to make a ground connection.

That's going to be your white wire with the ring terminal pre-attached to it. You want to get that grounded in a nice, clean metal surface with the included grounding screw. Then you can go ahead and secure any slack in the wire or any excess wiring with the cable ties or ny-ties that are provided with the kit. Once your installation is complete, the 4-way connector is going to be stowed beneath the vehicle. If you have a trailer hitch, you can loop it around the safety chain loop or you can purchase a mounting bracket.

That's what we recommend. That's really going to help keep the connector secure. Mounting brackets are sold separately and you can check out some options here at etrailer.com. It's also recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections. The kit does come with a terminal grease packet so you can apply that to the plugs right here for the vehicle and the 4-point connector itself to help prevent corrosion at the connection points.
