  There are two tabs on either side of the cap, with the tabs released apply a rocking motion back and forth. You might have to keep at it for a bit, but the cap should come off. Avoid using brute force like pliers, if those tabs are damaged the plug will not be seated correctly when plugged in.

  Sounds like you double checked all of the install steps of the Tekonsha kit part # 118491 on your 2011 Honda Pilot so the next thing to check is to determine if the converter box of this kit is possible faulty. To do that you'll need to test the wires that run to the box with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. If you are getting voltage on the input side of the box but still there's no voltage on the output side of the box that means the box has an internal problem and that's the issue....
