This custom-fit connector means no more fumbling around with complex wiring or unnecessary modifications. Simply plug it into your existing Honda Passport wiring, and you're ready to power your trailer's signal lights with ease—and all in about 30 minutes if you've got the tools ready.

Corrosion-Free Connections: Protective Terminals and Dust Cap

Don't let corrosion ruin your towing experience. The harness comes with protective connection terminals designed to resist corrosion, ensuring reliable connections every time. Plus, the included dust cap for the 4-way flat connector keeps dirt and moisture at bay when not in use.

Seamless Integration: ModuLite Tail Light Converter

Ever struggled with mismatched vehicle-to-trailer wiring? The built-in ModuLite power module solves this by blending your vehicle's separate brake and turn signals into a unified system for your trailer, all while maintaining the factory function of your Honda's tail lights. It's the perfect harmony of vehicle and trailer systems working together.

Handle High Power Needs: Robust Amperage Support

Whether it's tail lights or brake lights, this wiring harness has you covered with a stop/turn circuit capacity of 5 amps and tail lights at 7.5 amps per circuit. So, even on those long hauls or when towing in darker conditions, you'll know your equipment is up to the task.

Installation Instructions

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, on the driver's-side. You will need to remove all floor coverings and cargo trays to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, insert the provided fuse into the in-line fuse holder.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.

Note

This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Video Transcript for Installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness on a 2024 Honda Passport

Hey, everyone. Ryan here at etrailer. Today under 2024 Honda Passport, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Tekonsha Custom-Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness. Before we do that though, let's just take a minute. We'll check this out and make sure it's gonna work for you. So, if you plan on pulling a trailer around with your Passport, you're gonna need a way to power up all the lights on your trailer.

That way you're not only safe, but it's a legal requirement as well. And that's where a kit like this is gonna come into play. It'll send those signals to the back of our trailer and get us going down the road. And how we have our setup today, it's actually stored on the inside of our vehicle, which I like, especially if you're not gonna be using it all the time. You know, it's out of the elements and you're not gonna have to look at it on the back of your vehicle.

But if you do want to route your connector down by your hitch, that's perfectly fine. I'll show you a way you could utilize what's already in here to allow you to do that during the installation. But if you set it up like ours, when you're ready to use it, what you do is open up the rear hatch. (hatch whirring) And we have ours stored in this little cargo area here. It's outta sight, outta mind.

You just drape it over your threshold like this. Avoid the latch mechanism. Obviously you wouldn't want to get it hung up in there. And you're gonna close the rear hatch on it. And it might seem kinda odd doing that, but you're not gonna hurt the wiring, you're not gonna hurt your vehicle.

Nothing along those lines. It's designed to be able to handle something like this. And now, we'll have enough length here to plug our trailer in. This is gonna be a four-way flat type connector, which is extremely common for those smaller and medium-sized trailers. And the signals that it's going to give us will be the taillight signal, your turn signals, and your brake lights. To compare the Tekonsha wiring to the CURT wiring that's available, really there's not a ton of differences. Pretty similar. One thing I found in the past on some of these Passports is you might need to use an extra fuse with the Tekonsha wiring. That's not every case. It wasn't the case with our vehicle here today. But something I did wanna mention. I haven't run into that issue with the CURT, but aside from that, they pretty much work the same way. Can't really go wrong with either one to be honest. One thing that is nice about both of these kits is they utilize a factory connector plug that Honda has back here for us. So, Honda did a lot of the work already. But I do wanna say too, just because your vehicle didn't come from the factory equipped with the trailer hitched, doesn't mean you're not gonna have that plug. Great example today. You know, we put the hitch on, still had the plug. And I don't think I've ran into one Passport yet that does not have that plug back there. And that kinda holds true for Hondas across the board, at least in my experience, even different makes. But ultimately, if you're pulling your trailer around, this is gonna be a great solution for you to be able to hook up to it and get all those lighting signals to the back. As far as the installation goes, like we talked about, it has that plug back there for us to use. You will have to kinda pop a couple panels apart to be able to get to it. And then you have one wire you have to ground. There's a factory ground right next to it. So, that's pretty convenient as well. But it shouldn't really give you too many issues. With that in mind, if you're someone who don't like messing with wiring or maybe you want to have other parts installed all at the same time and you're not gonna even try to put those on yourself, you can always use our Dealer Locator Network that can help you find a shop in your neighborhood. You can set something like this up for you, but if you're doing it yourself, hang around, we'll go ahead and get started on it now. To begin our install, we're gonna be here at the back of our Passport and we need to get to a factory connector plug that'll be located over here in this area on our driver's side. And so to start off, we can remove any of our four coverings. Or in this case I'll probably just tilt this one forward. A little bit easier than trying to completely pull it out. And then, we'll have this cargo tray here too. With this, looks like there's just little unlocked knobs that you can turn. (tray rustling) That'll allow you to lift it out of place, and we'll set it to the side. We're gonna remove this threshold piece now. And with these, there's just plastic fasteners holding it in place. So, a lot of times you can just grab up on the corner of it and then I'm just taking a a trim tool here just to give it a little extra leverage. (plastic thumping) Just work your way all the way across. (plastic thumping) Get this on snap. So, that's the type of fasteners that we're keeping this in place, you know So, by prying up on 'em, pop some free. And with this removed, we'll go ahead and set it off to the side. Over here in this corner, we're gonna have a little cargo hook. And if you lift up on it and open up this little cover here, you just take a pick or something. Get in behind there. (cover thumping) Pop it open. That'll expose a Phillips head screw. And a lot of times these are really tight. So if you have, you know, a power tool like this, it's a little more ideal than trying to use a regular handheld screwdriver. And just make sure that your bit is in there real good. (tool whirring) And zip that out. And we can set this off to the side for now. You can grab our panel now and pop it free. It's kinda the same deal like we did with the threshold if you need to get a trim panel tool in behind there. (plastic thumping) But we really don't need to get too carried away. Really just unsnap it a little ways. Enough to give us some room to work down here. This electrical cable's kinda limiting us on how far we can pull this out. And it'd be a little more convenient if we could get just a little bit more out of it. So I'm gonna disconnect it, just push down on that tab, and pull that out. And we're able to kinda work this out of the way a little bit more. So, if you look in behind here, this white connector plug here that's going to nothing That's our trailer connector that we we inchesre looking for. And they have it taped up. I'm just gonna kinda carefully pull it away from that tape. (connector clunking) That way we'll have a little more length to work with. Now, that we have access to our connector plug though, we can take our Tekonsha wiring harness. And that end is going to match up with our factory connector there. Let see. We'll just plug those two right together. We are gonna have a white wire here with the pre-attached ring terminal. And that's a ground wire. So we're gonna hook that up right here to that factory ground. So, take a seven millimeter socket. (tool whirring) Remove that bolt. We're gonna take the bolt, put it through the ring terminal, and then back through the factory ground and get this re-secured. (tool whirring) I went ahead and got this secured and our wiring cleaned up. Just use a few zip ties to kinda bundle everything up and attach this to this factory, bundle the wire here. That's how it turned out. And we can move under the hood now. Make sure that the fuse is there from the factory or if we need to add one. On the driver's side, this is a fuse box that we're looking for, and you can push these three tabs in, remove it. And there's an empty slot right there. (fuse box buzzing) Sometimes that fuse is there from the factory, other times it's not. In our case, we have to install one. So, this little one does come with the kit and put that in place. And something that I've experienced before too is that might be the only fuse needed for, to get our wiring to work. Other times I put that in and had some issues with it, and ended up needing to put a fuse into this position as well. So, if that's something that you've run into, you check everything else and the wiring's still not working, you could always pick up, I believe, it's a JCASE fuse. It looks just like one of these. 30 amp, pop that in there and that'll probably solve your problem. But you can go ahead and get that one in like we just did and go from there. Before we put all this stuff back together, it's a good idea to test the wiring to make sure that it works. I like to use a tester like this as opposed to just hooking up to a trailer. And I say it because if your trailer happens to have any issues it might mislead you, thinking it's something we did on the vehicle side. But we'll try our left turn signal, our right turn signal. We'll hit our brakes, and try out our taillights. As far as what you can do with your four-way flat wiring connector, you can leave it stored on the inside of the vehicle, which is what we're gonna do. So, I'm just gonna kinda toss it off to the side. Eventually we will find a good home for it in a cargo area or something. Or if you wanna mount this or mount the connector down by your trailer hitch, if you look through that little opening there, there's a rubber grommet. You could pop that out, drop the connector down through there to the underside of the vehicle. Put a little slit in the grommet, re-install it, seal it up. And that's one way you can get your wiring to the underside of your Honda. Since we verified everything worked, I put all of our panels and everything back together the opposite way that we removed 'em. This is where we're gonna keep our wiring stored. I just brought it right up and over in our compartment here. And with that done, that'll finish up our look at and our installation of the Tekonsha Custom-Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness on our 2024 Honda Passport.

I have made several purchases from etrailer and have always had a pleasant experience.
Item is always as listed and shipping is super fast.
I purchased this wiring harness for my Honda Passport. Installation was quick and easy requiring only basic handtools. Etrailer has an Installation video that is very informative. I recommend taking the extra few minutes to watch. I have wired numerous trailers and vehicle and am experienced with wiring. I still watched the video. Install time was less than 30 minutes. Again this is super easy to install don't be intimidated.

Thanks for all your feedback, Rodney! From working here over the years majority of people are intimidated by wiring so I know people reading your review will get that added boost of confidence they need :)

Glad that the video was so helpful with your install, William! What kind of trailer are you going to be towing with your Passport?

I am very happy with my purchase from etrailer.com. I purchased a trailer wire harness for my 2023 Honda Passport at 1/3 the cost of the same product from the Honda dealer! It was a breeze to install with the online video that etrailer provided. Great quality workmanship and a more than fair price. I was towing my boat down the road an hour after receiving my UPS delivered harness installed and 2 days earlier than promised. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Very nice, high quality wiring harness. Simple install, especially with the etrailer install video on youtube. Everything you need. Plenty of wire ties for a clean install both behind the trim and under the car running the harness outside. There's even a piece of 2 sided tape to mount the little control module box on the wheel well so it's not flopping around.
I was considering going with the factory Honda hitch and harness, but their harness is 7 pin and I only need 4. Not to mention it's way more expensive. The Draw-tite hitch has a built in bracket to attach a 4 pin harness bracket giving a clean factory type look.

When removing trim, beware the screw that holds the tie down anchor on the driver's side. I managed to strip mine and needed an EZ out to get it loose. No fault of the product, of course, but just be aware!

Everything was in stock and arrived super quickly.

The entire transaction from my ordering phone consult with Alex J. to the landing of the hitch/accessories at my doorstep exceeded expectations. The hitch install and wiring of harness was quite easy after viewing their install videos. Alex also gave me great advice to affect a direct connect of the wire harness to the bracket on my Drawtite hitch. Install video only showed an interior storage option for my Honda Passport. Highly recommend etrailer and the people that made my buying decision very easy.

My tow hitch is everything I’d hope it would be. I saved money installing it myself. It bolted on to my 2020 Passport perfectly and looks very good. I haven’t had a lot of weight towed yet but it has been perfect for my scooter carrier to hold my Honda 150 adv. I highly recommend etrailer for your hitch. You’ll be glad you did

This will be my second T-1 wiring harness install on a Honda vehicle, it is very easy with no cutting splicing and mistakes in wiring since it has a direct plug in. For me the other attractive feature is that it can be stored inside when not in use which suits my needs well.

2020 Honda Pilot

This review is for the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector.

In short, all's well that ends well.

The hitch and the T-One wiring harness kit for my 2020 Honda Passport Touring arrived promptly, were very well-packaged and were in perfect condition.

I am 77 and the hitch is big and heavy so I had a local camper and truck supply company install the hitch for $50 and they did a very nice job.

I am a retired engineer and have installed many hitches and trailer light kits during my lifetime so I figured I could do the wiring. The T-One connector specifically for the 2020 Honda Passport came with instructions. Unfortunately, they didn’t match my 2020 Passport AT ALL, not even close. I think they may have been for a Honda Pilot though it clearly indicated it was for a 2020 Passport. There was no way I could figure out how to get to the wiring block inside the left side of the Honda using these instructions. So, I went online and got the instruction for installing an OEM Honda Hitch from College Hills Honda and I used those instruction to take apart the rear paneling to get to the wiring block. I plugged the T-One kit into the block and set about testing the wiring. Using the position for the fuse provided in the T-One instructions, there was no power at the trailer end. In checking the Honda Passport manual, I found that the position of the trailer fuse had changed from the T-One instructions. Once that change was made, the T-One adapter worked as expected. After reinstalling all of the paneling I have working trailer turn signal and brake lights.

The T-One instructions for the 2020 Honda Passport really need to be changed to reflect the actual interior disassembly of a 2020 Honda Passport and the actual position of the 20-amp fuse in the fuse block under the hood.

But, once connected, the T-One wiring harness worked perfectly.

My original contact with Anna E was very helpful and beneficial. Ordered the correct parts ( Draw-Tite bumper hitch and T one wiring harness). Slight delay in receiving the products because of back order BUT Anna kept me informed as to the new arrival date. The products came yesterday. I looked at the installation video by Brad about the wiring harness. My vehicle is a Honda Passport. He mentioned that instead of removing the side panel that I could install the harness by lifting up the side bucket. Well I tried to loosen the Phillips screw and the screw was so tight that I could not loosen it. Thank to Brad I used his short cut and all went well. If he had not shared this short cut it would have been a really big mess. The products are good and the people are super to work with. A very pleasant experience. Thanks to all. Sorry I can' share photos. I am of a lot of years and a dumb (flip) phone is good for me. The Draw-Tite bumper hitch was easy to install.

by:
2019 HondaPassport

I purchased this wiring harness (to go with a Draw-Tite (76290) hitch) for my 2019 Honda Passport Elite, which has the hands free liftgate. Installation was very easy. Infact, for my Passort I didn't even need to take the side panel out, like the instructions tell you. Once you pull out the storage bin (by the spare tire) and pop the driver side storage bin out, you can just reach your hand up and under (towards the front of the truck) and the factory harness is right there. There's also a grommet in that area that you can pop out and run your wiring out and under the vehicle if you'd like. I just cut a slit halfway through the grommet, ran the wire through it and reinstalled the grommet.
The wiring harness comes with double sided tape to secure the converter as well as a self taping screw (for the ground wire) and some zip ties. I was lucky enough to find a screw nearby to mount the converter to and a ground close enough for the ground wire to reach.
On a side note, after I installed my hitch I tested the hands-free feature and it worked. But after I installed the wiring harness, it stopped working. After some trouble shooting I realized that when I bundled the slack in the wire (for the 4-pin connector) and zip tied it to the top of the hitch, it was causing interference. Once I relocated the slack closer to the number, no more interference!
All in all, a great way to have to have near factory wiring, quick and easy.

HondaPassport

We love the new hitch for our 2021 Honda Passport. It looks like a factory supplied hitch and was easy to install. The wiring harness worked perfect and was also easy to install following the supplied instructions.

by:

The wiring was well made and fit perfectly. It worked great until it didn't. This was likely caused by bad wiring on the trailer but the wiring harness states right on it that it's for a 15 amp circuit only when the Honda Passport it's sold for has it on a 20 amp circuit.

by:

This is a well built and good looking hitch. Most of it is hidden very well so it doesn't detract from the original look of the vehicle. The only problem seems to be that with this hitch installed, the foot-operated back door on my Honda Passport doesn't work very well. It will only operate when I place my foot under the bumper in one very particular location (which usually takes a few tries), which causes me a lot of frustration when I really need it.

by:

This hitch receiver was extremely high quality and easy to install as advertised. The wiring kit was also easy enough to plug in to my existing wiring harness. This is my second hitch receiver purchased from etrailer and I'm very satisfied!

by:

4-pole wire could be a little bit inches longer

by:

good product and quick delivery

by:
2021 HondaPassport

My order for a Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver and T-one Vehicle Wiring Harness came a day earlier than the actual delivery date. So far I installed the Trailer Hitch ( which took me approx 40 mins ) and I will be installing the in the next couple of days. The Hitch is a high quality hitch and well made. It was very easy to install and I'm looking forward to install the wiring because the hitch was so easy.

by:

Bought the wiring harness and it arrived in 3 days.
Good quality harness that plugged directly into my factory harness.

Instructions for my 2019 Honda Passport were lacking. It said to remove entire left quarter trim along with the much easier to remove trays. I removed the trays but couldn’t even start to locate all the clips on the trim and gave up. Instructions did not say where the clips were.
Went [online] and found a video explaining how to install the harness WITHOUT removing all the trim pieces. MUCH EASIER and FASTER.
IF YOU WANT TO SAVE SOME TIME LOOK AT {online installation videos] BEFORE INSTALLING

by:
2019 HondaPassport

I purchased a trailer hitch and wiring. While not installed both products check out and should fit perfectly. The quality is top notch. They arrived in less than two days from the central part of the country to New York State, remarkable. The tipping point for my purchase from etrailer.com was their extensive feed back and interaction with customers; True support before the sale and I can attest to True Support during the sale. They restore your faith in retail. This is the way it should be. THNX!
