Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package, which is located in your cargo area, on the driver's side. You will have to remove the scuff panel and the cargo holder to access this port. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, insert the included 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

You staged the removal to avoid revealing the deck bracket is rigidly attached to the side. My panel broke doing exactly what your video shows. I've bought no fewer than 6 hitches over the past 10 years and relied upon your videos for guidance. NEVER AGAIN! I have no faith in you anymore.
I bought the Hitch, wiring harness and a bicycle rack for our 2018 Honda Pilot.
The wiring harness was missing from the order and I never followed up on the missing harness since I mainly use the hitch only for the bike rack.
Can you still make this right and send the wiring harness. I'd like to use the hitch to tow a small trailer so I could really use the harness now. Thank You

Trailer harness installation was a very straightforward process & has been working well with no issues.
Hitch is of good solid manufacture.
I had no issues with the install.
Trailer wiring with the harness went well with the helpful instructional website videos.
The wiring harness was very easy to install by watching and following the on line YouTube video
I have used etrailer on many projects, mostly hitches and wiring accessories. They are always efficient on shipping and their products they sell are always as described. This wiring harness was by far the easiest I’ve ever installed. The video was very helpful and saved me from unnecessary work.
Great product and a great price. The video took all the guess work out of removing the plastic trim. The package even arrived a day earlier than the estimate. I highly recommend etrailer.com and this wiring harness.
The harness was easy to install, however the location of the 10 amp fuse ends up being behind the interior side panel. If they had moved the fuse location or added longer wire to the fuse it could have been located just past the side panel and all you would need to do is lift the rear storage bin to access it.
The location it is now in requires tools and more difficulty to access the fuse.
I had 3 of these shipped to me in succession.
All three were bad. They would NOT pass thru the turn signal, and the box kept the running lights on all the time the trailer was plugged in, 3 separate units from Curt.
Mid July last year I had occasion to be at a U-Haul facility, and I explained the problem to the installer there.
Yes, he had experienced a very similar problem.
I bought the exact one from him as replacement #4, and it has worked right ever since.
Easy 30 minute installation and works well. What more could you want.

Installed in less than 3 minutes once I figured out how to get access to the wiring harness in the rear of our Passport (thanks to Youtube video).
The hitch looks great and fits well. The install was pretty easy though it is a bit awkward to do without a second set of hands. The finish seems pretty durable though there were a couple chips in the top coat of the hitch. Also not sure if it was my vehicle or the hitch but 5 of the 6 mounting hole lined up perfectly but the hole for the last bolt was right at the edge so a bit difficult to get started. All in all a quality built product at a really good price.

The first harness I received didn’t function but one quick call to the support line and another harness was sent right away and works perfectly. I’ve put etrailer tow packages on two cars and will use their products again, good service.
Very easy to install. Everything shipped great in one day.
The hitch was easy to install, the wiring harness was just as easy. The entire process took less than an hour to do.

The wiring installation video was very helpful. Yes, the Philips screw was very tight.
Hitch arrived in 2 days. Installed it the next day in about an hour by myself. Fit perfectly. Using it for my bike rack & small motorcycle trailer.

Easy to install with detailed instructi ons
Perfect fit, great instructions. FYI, the 2025 Honda Passport has the original harness taped so you can't just grab a hold of it and pull it down. I had to get a mirror, long knife and flashlight and cut the tape without cutting the harness and free the harness up. The rest of the install was a piece of cake.
Again, fast delivery, great customer service. Installation on my 2020 Pilot was just like the (2019) video. The 2020 video was not out at the time I installed this. It was done without issue in about 30 minutes. Much easier than my 2015 CRV.

Great product that arrived earlier than expected. If you follow the video on etrailer associated with this product, you can't go wrong. I did find an extra pair of hands helpful to pull out the side panel when I both put in the ground screw and clipped in the module. But not essential. Personally, I did not find it necessary to remove the panel beneath the back seats because I could easily pull out the side panel far enough with just the lift hatch panel removed. I also opted not to attach the control module with sticky tape up and out of site. It did not adhere well to the plastic. Letting it "hang" gave me easy access if needed especially to the 10 amp fuse. But I did feed the attachment wires down into the jack compartment. Finally, put the 30 amp fuse into the slot labeled TRL MAIN. Shown on video
Finally, the little connector I purchase for $7 was worth it.

Hey Jed, I am sorry you had a hard time with installing this wiring harness. I believe when you say deck bracket that you are referring to the side panel in the cargo area of your Passport. It did look as if the installer had to wiggle the panel a little to get it loose. Can you give me more details about what the panel was attached to that broke it? I am happy to look at your photos if you would like to send me some!
