2007 Honda Element - T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector

  • 4 Flat

  • Powered Converter

  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Tow harness with 4-way connector plugs into connection point in rear cargo area

    • Powered module connects directly to battery to avoid overloading vehicle's electrical system
  • Constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector

Specs:

  • Maximum amperage:

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness. The connection point for the 4-way tow harness is located in your rear cargo area, on the driver's side. The ModuLite plugs into the factory wiring harness beneath your dash, on the driver's side. Once you've plugged in the ModuLite, insert the included fuses into the built-in fuse holders.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within the spare tire compartment of your rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

This is my 3'rd different hitch from etrailer.com and I am once again very pleased! Everything on their website is easily researched and the ease of install was amazing. I backed my SC up on car ramps to make this install extra easy. Two things I would add after my install, (1) Someone had recommended that you install the forward two bolts and all associated washers first. This was a lifesaver! I taped the inner washers on and used those two bolts to pivot the hitch up for marking the small notch that was needed for the SC install. I was then able to cut that notch and keep pivoting it up to check for clearance. Once I hooked up my small trailer, it was perfectly level with the 2 3/4" rise I used for the 2" ball. All bolts lined up easily and were very easy to install by myself. A word of caution,,,, I can open my lower back hatch with the hitch and ball on without issue, you CANNOT open that same lower hatch if the trailer is attached without the bottom door hitting, and probably denting, the door! (2) After installing the two parts of the wire kit, (again, previous installers saved me time,,,, GRAY coupler under the dash! NOT the GREEN one!) I notched the spare tire cover so I can leave the wires out without pinching them. You can run the back wire either out the top hatch or out the bottom. It seems to work better out the top when hooked up to keep the wires from hitting the ground.
BTW,,, my wire hookup didn't work right on first try,,,, It was not lighting up with brakes, or lights, and the turn signals would blink both trailer lights. It turned out to be the ground wire on my trailer was corroded and partially broken! After cleaning and repairing that wire, all was good!! The Master Lock was perfect fit to this hitch receiver and had just enough room to be able to lock, use the rubber cover, and still get the safety chains to attach.
I can recommend this exact setup of parts for anyone looking to add a light trailer hitch to their 2008 Honda Element SC.

The items I bought to outfit my Honda element fit perfectly and made install a breeze.

by:

This is a great piece of equipment, simple, useful... I keep myself way of electrical issues, and this Wiring Harness protects your car and yourself.

The Honda Element makes it easy to plug trailer lights and etrailer takes go use of this configurations.

Here one of the beautiful things of this Connector: I lost my trailer lights, I didn’t realize until I stop for gas... I checked the wiring, and it did have power, so I open my driver fuse box and check the Etrailer Connector, well it has fuses, and the fuses were burned out, it looks like I was having a short on the lights, I changed the fuses, reconnect the trailer harness and the fuses burned out again.

That means that I have a problem with the trailer lights. I had to purchased some emergency trailer lights, change the fuses again and voila, it works... so there was a "short" in the trailer wires and the Connector protect my car wallet by cutting the short on the fuses of itself and not let it go all the way to the car fuse box, or computer or battery. That is a great product.

Great product, arrive in a timely matter as told, installation was a bit tricky even thou instructions were very simple to read, keep in mind readers aftermarket products are not factory so many times it will take a bit of twitching to make it right, in this case i had to use 8 washers to make it a tight fit instead of the 4 provided... Not a big deal ... Again it is to expect in an aftermarket product... Very satisfied with the hitch electrical was a breeze to install .. Definitely recommend this product..

by:

Etrailer made this very easy to install and after a year it has held up fabulously! Would recommend.

by:
2010 HondaElement

The plug is above the brake; next to the outside wall; wrapped with blue tape; very easy to find.

The module box is attached behind the brake on the front wall; no problem.

In the rear the wire is very easy to find. No problem

Your Factory OE Type Kit Works like a champ!! The hookup was easy - the instructions where laid out well and I appreciate the quality of the material like 'OEM' all the way. Customer Service is great too!

This being my second Honda Element I had a Trailer Dealer wire the previous vehicle. Against my wishes, they ran some wires underneath the vehicle and tied them directly to the battery using scotch lock clips which I detest - then the same way to the rear lights - crap job - Avoid a crap job and use E Trailer Products!

Recommended E Trailer to a friend and she bought one of your trailer hitches for her Civic - Loves it and the customer service too!

The trailer hitch for a 2008 Honda Element that we put on our son's car last year has worked perfectly. Used three times to haul trailers. The cost of buying the hitch through etrailer and then paying a local garage to install it was less than half of any quote I got from the other retailer, the dealership or any other commercial concern. Online videos made the installation easy for the mechanic, and could be installed EXACTLY as described. Highly recommend and will do this for any future cars that need no-drill hitch installations. Great job, etrailer!

Excellent, very easy to install in less than 5 minutes on my Honda Element

by:

Element SC owners: Very easy to install, but Watch the Video! Made the mistake of finding the wrong 10-pin and calling to question the thing, but customer service put me back on track, and recommended the video, which helped a lot, the correct 10 pin is buried on the far left of the console in my SC, and then the whole shebang took about 5 minutes to install. Easy! Going to drill and caulk a hole for the wiring, so I don't have to ghetto drape the harness out the window.

Thank you!!

The reference material was very helpful to read even before my hitch and wiring harness arrived. Especially helpful were the reviewers' comments giving their experiences. The hardest part in the installation was finding the jack under the dash but I only had to look a second time.

If the trailer has a 4 pole flat connector, then a kit like part 118465 will provide the necessary hook-up. Part of the kit will be connected at the rear of the vehicle, part will be connected in the cabin. We have a video walking through the install on a 2007 that I will add a link to. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 1-800-298-8924 and someone can help you get the right setup for your Element. s

Almost plug and play on my 2008 Honda Element.
Some
Elements have a recall for the factory installed trailer harness. Search the internet for a pdf file that will let you see if you are included in the recall.
I was not. Only other issue was my Honda trunk connector had a dummy plug in it and that had to be removed before I plugged in the new cable. Also, it is possible to run the cable out through the tailgate door jam and not between the window and the tailgate. A matter of preference, I suppose. Seem like you pinch it either way.
