2022 Honda CR-V - T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector

  • 4 Flat
  • Custom Fit
  • Trailer Hitch Wiring
  • Powered Converter
  • Tekonsha

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Honda CR-V with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.

Features:

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily
    • Locate connection point in rear cargo area
    • Plug in T-connector
  • Includes ModuLite power converter to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer
    • Powered module draws power from fuse to avoid overloading vehicle's electrical system
  • Constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector

Specs:

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 5 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 7.5 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, behind the driver's-side interior trim panel. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, open the fuse compartment beneath the driver's-side dash. Locate the fuse position indicated in the instructions, then insert the included fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

I installed the Draw-Tite 76128 Hitch, the 118741 wiring harness and the 18144 bracket to mount the wiring plug. You can route the plug through the hole that is provided for the factory hitch wiring (it will fit through, but it is tight) and use the bracket to clean up the install. It looks pretty sweet doing it this way.

I am still very satisfied with the installation as well as the products. They were put to use about a month ago towing a trailer from Central Vermont to Southeast Ohio. That was about 800 miles and absolutely no trouble.

by:

Everything showed up right. Installation on my CRV is a little more challenging than others I've done, but the videos were very helpful. I would definitely buy another hitch from etrailer.com and have referred people to them.

Have had this hitch on for about a year. Paint is chipping and its already rusting. Looks terrible already. Kind of disappointing.

@Matt We're sorry to hear that, but unfortunately it happens. Because of where the hitch is located, it's pretty susceptible to scratches and paint chips caused by road debris that is kicked up by the tires. The receiver tube is prone to corrosion because of all the metal to metal contact it experiences when a hitch mounted accessory is installed or removed, especially if you live in the rust belt in a state that uses chemicals on the roads in the winter. This is why we recommend inspecting the hitch yearly for scratches or chips and using a good rust inhibiting spray paint to touch up the hitch when necessary.

by:

Installed by myself, was able to set hitch on exhaust on both sides of vehicle, then ran all four wires through hitch holes.

etrailer is a company done really really well. Strong products at good prices, great support, and a well-designed website. The how-to videos are amazing.

Been a year and still working like a charm. Installation requires a little patience fishing some wires through tight spaces but not difficult. Very happy.

2017 Honda Civic

The wiring harness worked as expected and was installed on a 2017 Honda Civic. We have had no problems. Thanks

by:
Honda

Kit was easy to install especially with the video instructions. One issue is that the included fuse is not the low-profile mini that was needed for the new Honda CR-V models. Had to go and buy the correct style fuse to use. Additionally, the video tutorial calls out using a 20A fuse to match the trailer fuse rating on the CR-V, but the install manual and the included fuse for the harness is 15A.

by:
Honda

Hitch is working great. Installation went well with no issues - had a mechanic do the install. The hitch fits well on my Honda CRV 2018. Flush with rear bumper so no problem with leg scrapes. Support arms are barely noticeable as they sit up close to the underside of the car.

After a year of use, the hitch looks great and has performed well. A little car wax helps keep it looking new. Have used it a few times over the year.

by:
Honda

Complete kit ready to install out of the box. Although included instructions may get you through the process OK, I recommend the video tutorial as it is more thorough and easier to understand. Just make sure you select the right video as there are different processes for the AWD and front wheel drive versions of the Honda CRV.

by:

This harness works great. Easy to install. The hardest part was taking the body panels off, but your directions were very helpful.

by:

Great product at a great price. Only suggestion would be to have a way to connect to the trailer wiring without having it being closed on by the tailgate of my CRV. I ultimately ran the cable into my spare tire compartment and then drilled a hole out near my trailer hitch and installed a grommet. Works and looks great but I had to cut the trailer connector off the T1 harness to dress the wires through my new hole and then reconnect it. The whole e-trailer experience and products were fabulous. I have a hitch and wiring harness that are as good as the Honda hitch/harness for hundreds of dollars less.

by:
2019 HondaCR-V

Perfect fit, installed like OEM harness. A bit of work to get behind the rear panel. The only downside is the size of the connector for the trailer. An in-between connector that would make it possible to thread the wiring through the SUV's body, without having to cut the wiring and reconnect each wire individually, would be ideal.

by:

Harness worked great and install video made it easy. Thought I’d blown a fuse when hatchback wouldn’t close by push button. Evidently rebooted when hatch was closed manually because it works fine now. Might want to mention that in the install video.

by:

Second time I’ve bought a hitch and wiring harness, first time for 2013 CRV and now for my New 2019 CRV. I installed the hitch myself using car ramps it probably would have been easier with two people but it really is that easy if you are handy with your hands. You just need to take time with the wiring harness as the video suggests. Cost was less than 150.00 for both. My wife got an estimate for her SUV and the dealer wanted 650.00 for install. This was money well spent. Thank you etrailer.

Wiring little tough to install on Honda CRV. Watch the how to video for great instructions. When they say tight space they weren’t kidding. The hitch was a breeze. This is a great company with the best service. #3 for me from them overat least 10 years.

2023 HondaCR-V

This product installed fairly easily, and the online installation video was a great help. It's working well for us. The video didn't exactly show how to add the fuse in the fuse panel under the driver's side dash, but a little more poking around online gave me the hints I needed. I'd definitely buy this product again!

by:

Fast shipping and excellent customer service. Videos on the site made installation a breeze!

by:
2019 HondaCR-V

etrailer is the best, thanks for all the vids guys! Makes the install a breeze! Much appreciated!
At the end of the Tekonsha wiring install vid it shows that the fuse was already installed on the vehicle. So sure enough, I turned my lights on and BAMB, my fuse was already installed as well.

I used a couple 2x4's to hold the panels back...

by:

Works get. Might be a little challenging for a first time DIYer to install. The video is a great resource. Could be better if the module extended into the spare tire well for fuse replacement. But being fused ahead in the car's system should keep me from worrying about it.

by:

We purchased the wire harness and hitch together as it was much less expensive and then i installed it myself. I saved at least $150-$200. It’s one year later and still works without a problem. We enjoy taking the boat to the lake with it.

by:

Everything as expected. Have not installed yet, but instructions look clear. Looks like a quality product.

Installation was easy and quick. If you want your Honda CR-V wired for towing, this kit is what you need.

by:

Very good service and I received the order in a reasonable time. The trailer hitch is a very easy to install and the trailer wiring harness also. Thank you and I will definitely be using your company again, 5 stars. Nelson B. Québec, Canada.

by:

This is my 3rs order from etrailer in 15 years, spanning 2 vehicles. They never disappoint. The install instructions that came with this were garbage, but etrailer had an amazing video (as did other sites) showing exactly how to install it. I'll keep coming back.

by:

The product is great except the fuse that is with it does not fit my car. My car takes the low profile mini fuses not the regular mini fuses. I had to go to the store and spend another $[XX].

by:

The design of the hitch, wiring and directions were excellent. Installation time was as stated. Dropping the exhaust system on a new car was a bit of a concern but after watching the video and following the tips given it was easier than I thought.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Honda CR-V
Best option for a trailer hitch on your 2019 Honda CR-V will be the etrailer hitch part # E98848 because this hitch has the 2 inch hitch size which has better towing capacities and has a concealed crosstube which makes it look nicer and help with ground clearance. This will work great to carry your Saris bike rack and tow a small trailer. The weight of the hitch is on 29 lbs so it won't affect ride quality at all either. For trailer wiring you'll want the part # 118741 because it installs...

If you take a circuit tester and check the brown wire going into the box it will tell us if it's your CR-V or the box. If the voltage is fine before the box but then is lowered after the box then the box is the problem and I actually recommend replacing your wiring with the Tekonsha T-One # 118741 because it has a better module box.
