Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Honda CR-V with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting or splicing required.
Features:
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, on the driver's side. You will have to remove the rubber mat, storage covers, and some interior paneling to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in your spare tire area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with a four pole flat trailer connector. Now this product is going to fit a 2007 to 2011 Honda CR-V. It simply provides a four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. Now this four way flat connector is compatible with adapters such as a five pole, six pole and seven pole adapter. Adapters are sold separately if you're in need of one. It does come with a dust cap for the four way flat connector that way you can cover up the connection points when your plug is not being used. The black box right here is the included taillight converter.
This is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. This unit is designed to connect very quickly and easily. All you have to do is locate the connection point in the rear cargo area and plug in your single connector. That's all there is to it. This plug is going to match up perfectly with the port on the vehicle.
It's going to snap lock together for a nice tight secure fit. Once you have that connected you will need to mount a couple of things. You're going to need to mount the converter box. What you want to do is get that to a nice out of the way location and then secure it in place by using a couple of the zip ties provided with the kit. You will also need to mount the inline fuse holder which is this little piece right here. You'll notice that it does have a hole right here so you could use a screw to mount it.
It's also going to come with some double-sided adhesive foam tape. Peel that off you can stick it to a nice clean out of the way location. See right there if we remove the cap it does come with a 15 amp fuse that's already inline, pre-wired in, really nice design. Now the unit also comes with detailed installation instructions. It's going to help to walk you through the entire installation process step by step. Once you have all that done, you can secure any excess or slack in your wire with the included zip ties.
Then once your installation is complete, the four way connector is going to be stowed in your rear cargo area. You've got plenty of wiring here so that way when you are ready to use it you can extend it out the rear hatch. When it's not being used you can roll it back up and stow it nicely away in the rear cargo area. It's also recommended that you use a small amount of terminal grease on all of your electrical connection points like the plugs on the vehicle and the four pole connector itself. That grease is going to help prevent corrosion and the grease packet is included with the kit.
