It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

2015 Ford Five Hundred

I received my t-one wiring harness for my 2005 ford five hundred and it looks great and works great. It came with simple instructions and also has video of how to install is needed on you tube. It took less than 15 minutes from start to finish. It was a very simple installation. I am very pleased with the trailer connector as well as the e trailer receiver hitch I also purchased which also came with simple instructions and also video if needed on you tube. The receiver looks great and is so hidden that you hardly notice it there. 2 thumbs up for both my trailer connector and my e trailer receiver hitch.

First experience with etrailer and I have to say that they exceeded my expectations. The order process was smooth and easy. The hitch and wiring assembly showed up in a well packaged container. The instructions included with the product and available online made installation a snap. The fit and finish of the Curt hitch is excellent. Once installed the only thing visible is the 2" receiver with the main structure of the hitch packaged nicely out of view, flush to the underside of the vehicle. The plug and play 4-pole wiring kit was simple to install. Planning to use the hitch for hauling the mountain bikes to the trail-head and pulling a pop-up for weekend camping getaways!

I am really happy with the wiring harness. There were no wires to splice. The video on Youtube was very helpful for the wiring harness, I watched it repeatedly before trying to install. One thing I learned the hard way is that boat trailer lights will last a lot longer if you unconnect the lights before dipping the trailer in the water and reconnect the lights before leaving the lake!

Thanks,
Joe

Great product. Great service. Hitch was incredibly easy to install. WATCH INSTALLATION VIDEO to save a headache. I did first rear bolt wrong because I thought I had it down after front bolt. Just watch video and you're good. Printed instructions are simplistic and useful but video makes an amateur into an expert. I did install on the floor (no lift) and still had a good amount of room to work. 1.5 hours for me to finish. 40 minute install time is pretty much spot on for someone who listens and watches vid.

Etrailer service was fantastic as well. Had to have hitch and wiring shipped 2000 miles from my home, so I could meet package and service was flawless. Customer service called to confirm my shipping instructions and shipped order that day. Thank you also for UPS shipping.

Well made, easy to install and affordable.

That’s my experience with your wiring harness. I recently had a trailer hitch installed at U-Haul on a 2005 Ford Freestyle that I recently acquired, prior to my appointment I ran across You Tube videos detailing the installation of both a hitch and your wiring harness.

On my install date I quizzed the installer as to how he was going to install the wiring, once he told me that he was going to install the receptacle outside of the vehicle I opted out of the wiring harness portion of the install and ordered mine from your company.

What an excellent choice it was! It took me 20 minutes to install, and I would absolutely recommend this to others.

Great item, easy to use, simple fitment, Made the chore very easy. Only alteration made was to create an exit hole in the area of the trailer for wires rather than keep in hatchback and extend out when in use. Used zip ties to secure all wires to hitch. Simple plug and play This item is highly recommended to any Ford vehicle that wishes to add a fool proof trailer light system that will not short our or damage electronics.

by:

The hitch mounted my vehicle easily. I use the hitch to connect to a utility trailer and haul an assortment of items from household goods for moving from one home to another, to firewood for heating stoves and fireplace. The hitch arrived at my door two days after I ordered.

Very easy installation, works great.

Bought
it with the receiver for my Ford Freestyle. Easy installation, works great.

Installation took all of 15 minutes... looks professional and no drilling.

Since installed... pulled multiple smaller trailers and (3) [car dollies]. everything worked well without fail.

1 yr in, not a single problem to report.

Thank You.

Creative product made trailer hitch wiring quick and easy. Only suggestion would be to add another foot of wire for ease when attaching to the trailer, that's why we gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Still a great buy!

Perfect, easy to install!!

by:
2006FordFreestyle

The wiring was shipped taped on the hitch. I wish it was boxed up.
After reading the instructions carefully, it installed as described and worked fine.
I did make sure to test the wiring prior closing up the trim panels... just in case.
This is the second wiring that I ordered from etrailer.com and bought works as advertised.
Great product and love the T-connectors, so much easier to install than error-prone splicing. Well worth it!

Ford Five Hundred

Works Perfect and someone like me that has minimal automotive expertise I was able to do without killing myself. I ran it into the trunk and pass it out when I use it. the weather stripping on the trunk is fine and no damage to the wires. I have a form Five hundred. I highly recommend this product.

Hitch and light connection still work great!!!!! Gonna use it this weekend to cleanup the yard and used it for the same last weekend. Also used it to haul my boat and will use to put my boat in winter spot. My ford five-hundred is a power horse and all is great

by:

I received all of the materials in a timely manner.

Installation was a breeze. Despite having a fair amount of corrosion on my vehicle I was able to get it installed by myself, without even raising the car. The whole process for the hitch took about 30 minutes.

Highly recommend this product to anyone in the market.

by:

Just received order. Am impressed with speed of shipment. Have not installed yet, but look forward to doing so without drilling. Going yo use mainly for ebike carrier.

by:
FordFreestyle

This was awesome! I loved not having to splice wires...one recommendation for the ground however...I removed one of the cargo hooks that the Freestyle has near the latch and used that as an attach point for the ground. Put the cargo hook on top of it and have a good solid ground. Worked perfect and I did not have to drill a hole.

Received my wire assembly for my running lights to tow my camper..very satisfied with the product and service..I also ordered and received a towing hitch and receiver to my Ford Freestyle..I would definitely use etrailer.com for future towing needs..

by:
2007 FordFreestyle

It took me aprx 2 hours to install....I don't like to rush things, because if you do...."screw-ups occur." After installing the hitch, this was a pleasure to hook-up. Just follow the directions and take your time. Better to do it properly the first time, then have to redo. I'm very pleased with the productions and will use "etrailer" whenever I need something else for my 2007 Freestyle.

by:
2005 FordFreestyle

The hitch I ordered fo our 2005 Ford Freestyle installed just like the instructions & video said it would. In about 2 hours The hitch was ready to go. If I ever need another hitch I will be ordering from etrailer . Good job guys!

Installation went well. An included trim tool would be nice, but it was not necessary with my car.

  • Wiring a French Built Mecano Galva Utility Trailer to a 2007 Ford Freestyle
European trailer wiring is very different from North American, specifically U.S. trailer wiring. In Europe a 7-Way connector is used to achieve the same functions U.S. trailers use in a 4-Way system. Our brake and turn signal functions are combined. A U.S. 4-Way is set up as follows: Brown - tail lights, yellow - left turn and brake, green - right turn and brake, and white is ground. Reverse lights are not typically used on small utility trailers in the U.S. In many states they are not...

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2006 Ford Freestyle
We have trailer wiring that is a confirmed fit for your 2006 Ford Freestyle but it does not use the unusual connector you sent in a picture of. Instead you'd want the T-One kit part # 118395 which installs by plugging inline with the taillight connectors of your vehicle. I attached an install video for more info for you to check out as well. What you have might be related to a Ford only style of connector but you'd have to check with a Ford dealer to know for sure.

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2005 Ford Freestyle
The correct wiring harness you would need for your 2005 Ford Freestyle would be the Tow Ready Harness part # 118395. This will give you a flat 4-way that should match up to your trailer's 5-way. Typically the 5th wire on a 5-way is run to the reverse lights of the tow vehicle for a reverse lockout or reverse lights. Either way if you need that fifth circuit you would also need to install the part # 20036. This will plug into the 4-way of your vehicle and the fifth wire will tap into your...
